Chapter 74 The disciples of Wang Yangming

Chapter 74 Wang Yangming's disciples

The grudges of the disciples are due to grudges, but now they gather together, there is something to discuss. Therefore, the disciples are waiting outside. These masters of the mind sit in a pavilion, regardless of the host and guest.

Although there are many people in Xinxue, those who are qualified to sit here will not be as big as two palms.

Huang Zongxi divided the lineage of mind learning very carefully, but those were divided many years later. It may not be appropriate to use the classification method of future generations. But no matter what, the contradiction between them is true.

Among Wang Yangming's disciples, there are Qian Dehong, Wang Ji, Nie Bao, Luo Hongxian, Zou Shouyi, and other major players. Of course, it does not mean that apart from these people, there are no disciples of Wang Yangming in the world. After all, when Wang Yangming was giving lectures, many came to listen to the study, and many included in the walls. But sometimes the world is so realistic. Even Wang Yangming's disciples did nothing after decades. Everyone forgot. After all, Wang Yangming has been dead for thirty years.

Thirty years of vicissitudes of life. Those who can stay are definitely not just the label of Wang Yangming’s disciples.

Among these people, Nie Bao is an old acquaintance. He was once Zhou Mengchen's boss and the Minister of War. Now he has been driven down by Yan Song and has focused on academic research. He is also one of the bigwigs in the study of the mind.

If Qian Dehong and Wang Ji have read some of Wang Yangming's works, they will definitely know the famous Tianquan Q&A and Wang Yangming's Four Sentences. They also know that Wang Yangming was for these two disciples at that time, that's right, these two.

"The body without good or evil, there is good or evil, and there is good or evil movement. Knowing good and evil is conscience, and doing good to eliminate evil is to investigate things." These four sentences sound like Wang Yangming's purpose of mind learning, but these four sentences laid the foundation for the division between King Qian and King.

During the Tianquan Q&A, Wang Yangming explained these four sentences to these two disciples, namely the Four-Hands and Four-Nots. The saying corresponds to the teachings of people with higher roots and middle roots and lower roots. But in fact, the two disciples looked back many years later and could only understand this part of themselves and exclude the other party’s part.

So Wang Ji and Qian Dehong parted ways.

Wang Yangming knew his attitude towards these two disciples. In fact, these two people have the status of disciples in the royal sect. Although they cannot be said to be one head higher than other disciples, they have a great influence. After the two parted ways, the two people had different ways.

In order to show that he was the orthodox of Wang Yangming, Wang Ji came here to give lectures and argued with his fellow disciples. It can be said that he had made refutations with the brothers present, and had to admit that Wang Ji was unparalleled in his eloquence. However, being able to refute others may not necessarily make the other party surrender to his theory. He could even push it further.

Nie Bao and others just had something wrong with Wang Ji.

Qian Dehong is different. Qian Dehong hid in the mountains, and even did not even accept a few disciples. He devoted himself to doing one thing. He was to organize Wang Yangming's knowledge. On the one hand, he sorted out Wang Yangming's works, works, letters, etc. throughout his life, and proofread them into a collection. On the other hand, he launched a huge project, which was to use Wang Yangming's thoughts to annotate the Thirteen Confucian classics.

This is a very huge project. I won’t talk about how many of the thirteen Confucian classics are. Just talking about them, these annotations must be accurate and reflect their level, and they must be outstanding among other annotations in the same annotations of the scriptures.

Maybe some don't understand the weight of doing this.

Although Wang Yangming reflected the characteristics of Confucianism in the study of the mind, that is, he put aside the Four Books and Five Classics and sets the topic. It is different from the previous Confucianism, I annotated the Six Classics and the Six Classics of Confucianism in the Song Dynasty, and I annotated the Six Classics of Confucianism in the Song Dynasty. However, Qian Dehong felt that this was imperfect.

Confucian orthodoxy is still in the classics. The imperial examination also requires the classics. If the study of the mind is always just a lecture, there is naturally no problem. But if you want to enter the elegant hall and become an official school in the court, you can't even have a complete set of Six Classics commentaries. However, if the country uses the study of the mind as the examination standard, you can't even get a standard answer? How can this be done?

So Qian Dehong devoted all his remaining life to this, and he might not see any reward in this life, and he might not see any reward in the future.

Wang Ji was also very impressed by this matter. He argued with Qian Dehong for a lifetime. Although he had never said that this brother was not right from his mouth, he did not forbid his disciples to talk about Qian Dehong's knowledge. However, after knowing what Qian Dehong did, Wang Ji was silent for a long time and wrote some notes for Qian Dehong to give them to Qian Dehong for his reference.

Because what Qian Dehong did seemed useless, it was a major event related to the foundation of the study of the mind.

It was not easy for Luo Hongxian to come out this time. As a disciple of Wang Yangming, he had made achievements in the officialdom. In the 18th year of Jiajing, he wrote a letter to persuade Jiajing to cultivate immortals, and was seized by Jiajing. Luo Hongxian returned home to study and study hard and study hard. However, he did not only study hard but also other studies, such as geography.

He drew the first part of the provincial map in China, namely the Guangyu Map. It is also very famous. It even has collections in the mainland. However, his Guangyu Map has been replaced by the map of the Imperial Heaven Supervision.

The best map of the Ming Dynasty today is the map drawn by Yang Wuliang. It is just hidden deep inside and cannot be seen by idlers.

Although Luo Hongxian is not an official, he is not an idle person. Although he has not seen these maps with his own eyes, he has heard of them. This time he came here, I don’t know how many points it was because of lectures or Zhou Mengchen’s reputation as the number one in astronomy and geography in the world.

Zou Shouyi was also a representative figure of Jiangyou's Xinxue. Not only him, but after him, the Zou family had followed the learning of the heart for generations. It can be said that after the fall of the Ming Dynasty, the learning of the heart fell silent. However, the Zou family was one of the few families that still insisted on learning of the heart.

The study of mind has become the study of the Zou family.

Zou Shouyi not only represents himself, but also represents what Huang Zongxi mentioned in Jiangyou Xinxue, which is the most authentic lineage under Wang Yangming's school of mind. This lineage has the least played the role in Wang Yangming's school of mind and the longest inheritance. Although Nie Bao is also from Jiangxi, Nie Bao combined the study of mind and Neo-Confucianism and proposed the theory of silence. Whether it is right or wrong, it is no longer the way of learning.

This is also an important reason why Wang Ji ignored Nie Bao.

Of course, in addition to these Wang Yangming's disciples, there is another disciple who sits in the pavilion.

It’s not someone else, it’s He Xinyin.

He Xinyin is not Wang Yangming's disciple, but Wang Gen's disciple. He Xinyin's current seat is Wang Gen's.

Logically speaking, Wang Gen is no longer there. Why should he keep his seat? For example, Ouyang De, when he was alive, was also a big shot in the study of mind, and his reputation is still above Nie Bao, but now that he is no longer there, he does not want to leave his seat to his disciples.

It can only be said that Wang Gen has too much influence. Wang Gen is different from other Wang Yangming's disciples. In a term in martial arts novels, Wang Gen is a martial arts novel that he is a master with skills.

Before Wang Gen became a disciple of Wang Yangming, he had already had his own ideas. He was born in Yan Ding, suffered and felt pain and fatigue, and had seen the injustice of the world. He wanted to change this world. He heard that Wang Yangming was a great scholar in the world, so he traveled thousands of miles to see Wang Yangming. After meeting Wang Yangming, he talked with Wang Yangming for several days. Wang Gen was finally convinced and then he became a disciple of Wang Yangming.

Wang Gen was different from other schools of Wang's school from the beginning. He had a kind of common philosophy. He put forward the most exciting conclusion, which was "the people's daily use is the way." Wang Gen's lectures were different from those of others. Others lectures were mostly to teach scholars and officials, while Wang Gen taught more for peddlers. However, in this way, in order to facilitate the people's understanding, Wang Gen had to compress Wang Yangming's study of the mind and become easy to understand. For example, the conscience we are talking about now may not be passed down by Wang Gen.

The Wang Gen School was later called the Taizhou School. It was also the most rebellious lineage in Wang Yangming's study of mind. Huang Zongxi said that they were not capable of Confucianism, which means that the Taizhou School is no longer a Confucian school.
