Chapter 23 The Doctor or the Priest

"How is it, it's OK now." After moving the stone, Irving Bruto patted his big hand, looked at the ten gold coins stacked on the ground, and looked at Corion with a look of suspicion.

Corion smiled, picked up the gold coins on the ground and spread his hands towards Owen and said, "Of course, they are yours."

Irving walked up to Corion, reached out to take the gold coins into his hand, and then held them tightly. The cold and hard touch was conveyed from his hand. Irving could finally believe that this was true. What else in the world is more realistic than gold coins?

Corion turned around and faced all the villagers, slowly bowed and smiled gracefully, "I am Corion, the knight of the Empire, and you are also your truly trustworthy friend."

"Okay, good-looking!" The villagers finally had no reason to suspect this strange knight. The atmosphere around them once again became warm and relaxed, and the interrupted banquet was held again.

The old lady at the entrance of the village had already walked out with her grandchildren, and they saw the whole process of the matter. After the bet, the villagers were singing and dancing around Corian. They really regarded Corian as their friend. The old lady suddenly thought of something and began to try to push the crowd away and squeeze inside. It was hard to imagine that her elderly body could burst out with such power.

"Hello, a trustworthy friend of the villagers of Tarital, the noble Knight Master." The old lady finally squeezed to Corion, grabbed Corion's arm, and said breathlessly.

Corion recognized the old lady, but at this moment he didn't understand why she suddenly appeared, so he asked in confusion: "What's wrong? Madam?"

"Great Knight, have you asked me about Dr. Thomas Miller before? I'm here to tell you specifically. As long as you can give me ten... no... a Kielder gold coin, I'll tell you everything about Dr. Thomas Miller." The old lady said quickly, with smiles on her face.

Corion finally understood what she meant. He nodded in understanding and asked with a smile: "Oh, that's right? But didn't your ears and throat work before? I'm so troubled you."

"Hehe, no, no." The old lady grabbed Corion's arm tightly, as if she was afraid that he would run away, and at the same time she said with her eyes full of light: "Under the light of the gold coins, even deaf people will hear the sound. Even mutes can speak again."

Corion had nothing to say, he really needed help. For this reason, he took a gold coin from his arms and put it in the old lady's hand and said, "Okay, tell me everything."

......

Early the next morning, Corion left the village of Taritar. It turned out that Dr. Thomas Miller lived in an independent farm near Taritar, and seemed to be doing some cultivation research there.

The residents of Tarital Village do not look for Dr. Thomas Miller for treatment, so they do not know about Dr. Thomas Miller. The old lady would know that it was because his son was working in the manor.

Before leaving, Corion thought of taking Irving Bruto away and letting him play for Lord Eugen. However, Irving refused. It turned out that he stayed in the village to take care of his sick old mother and would not leave here for the time being.

Corion had nothing to say, and only asked him to go to Vienna to find himself after he had an idea in the future.

Following the direction the old lady pointed, Corion finally came to the front of the manor.

Behind the manor is a piece of land surrounded by red brick and stone fences, with some strangely shaped green vegetation planted in the ground. If someone who knows something about plants here, he will recognize these are quite precious medicinal materials.

Next to the fence was a man wearing a black linen robe with a cross hanging around his neck, and he looked like a priest standing there. The man was concentrating on the vegetation in the fence, and from time to time he pinched the leaves with his hands.

"Father Thomas Miller, a knight from Habsburg asked for a visit." The maid named Erin walked to the priest and said with a respectful expression.

Father Thomas Miller straightened up, wiped his hands with a rag that was placed on the fence, and said to the maid: "Take him to the living room, I'll be there later."

The maid agreed and turned and left. At this time, Father Thomas Miller murmured with a little confusion: "Knight of Habsburg? What did he ask me for?"

......

In the living room, Dr. Thomas Miller looked at the knight in front of him. The black double eagle's emblem was indeed the Habsburg family.

"You mean, you want to invite me to a medical competition?" asked Father Thomas Miller, with a look of suspicion between his eyebrows.

Corion nodded and said respectfully: "Yes, there will be a grand medical event at the University of Heidelberg between Stuttgart and Frankfurt. On behalf of the organizer General Eugen Habsburg, I would like to invite you to attend."

"General Eugen Habsburg? What a familiar name. Isn't this the general who defeated the French Empire recently?" Father Thomas Miller asked with interest, muttering this name.

"Yes, it's that general. I am his retainer. You can fully trust the general's reputation." Corion said respectfully. Dr. Thomas Miller is a famous doctor and an important figure on Corion's invitation list.

The list of Corion is a very important part of Eugen's plan. Through the name of the competition, all the famous doctors were gathered together to study ways to fight the Black Death. He believed that with the abilities of these people, when they gathered together, they would surely be able to create some sparks of wisdom.

"Oh, General Eugen is indeed respectable. But as you can see, I have now fallen into the arms of the Lord and become a priest. I'm sorry, I really can't participate in the game you mentioned."

Father Miller politely refused, Corion leaned over and saluted, saying, "Don't you listen to the prize money for the competition?"

"No need to say more, no matter how much the prize money is for the competition, I will not participate." Father Miller said righteously.

"The prize for the competition is 100,000 Kielder gold coins!" Corion said calmly.

"Uh... Erin, prepare my luggage. I'll go to Heidelberg in a few days." Father Miller turned to the servant and said, then turned to look at Corion and smiled, "It's Heidelberg, there's no problem."

Corion's expression remained unchanged, and he still smiled calmly: "No problem, we will be responsible for your food and accommodation during the game. Heidelberg University is waiting for your arrival."
