What is first-level brushing?

Simply put, in simple terms, in all vehicles that use electro-injection technology, the car's inhalation, fuel injection, ignition and other tasks are controlled by ECU. When designing the program and logic of ECU, manufacturers need to consider many influencing factors in the vehicle's use process, such as the climate, oil products, overall road conditions and car usage habits of the vehicle, etc., they will design the ECU program more conservatively, so that the hardware of the vehicle, that is, the engine, without major changes, can meet the design technical indicators, such as power, torque, fuel consumption, service life, etc., so under normal circumstances, the manufacturer is very conservative in the setting of ECU.

The so-called "first-step" is based on the fact that the manufacturer has very conservatively set up the ECU. Simply put, it is to "release" some of the engine's power "sealed" by the manufacturer without any modification to the engine's hardware, including the intake and exhaust system, by resetting the parameters of the ignition time, ignition time, gasoline mixture concentration and other parameters.

Because there is no modification to the hardware, the power increase of the engine after the first step is not particularly large. The power increase of the self-priming vehicle model is generally between 5% and 15%. The increase of the turbocharged vehicle model is usually a little larger. By adjusting the turbine pressure, after the first step is brushed, the power can theoretically be increased by up to 30%.

Of course, if you are not satisfied with the improvement of this power, you can also use the second and third stages. However, in the second and third stages, in addition to the need to make more radical settings of the ecu program, for example, in the second stage, you already need to take action on the engine hardware, replace the air filter with a larger air flow, increase the exhaust diameter, etc. When the third stage, you even need to replace the high-strength forging crankshaft with higher strength and higher accuracy, high-strength piston connecting rods, lightweight pistons, etc., and even install mechanical supercharger or turbocharger systems... In short, it is very complicated and a very complex system project. We will not discuss it here.

Most of the men who play motorcycles are also car enthusiasts, and are usually familiar with car modifications. Even if they have not tried the first, second, and third level, they are not unfamiliar with these modification terms.
