Chapter 41 Volkhov Tank Battle (5)

The two tank troops that were walking opposite each other encountered a relatively open area. There was a slight turn in the jungle on both sides of the road. The German side, who first discovered the enemy situation, could see the thick smoke rising from behind the jungle barrier.

The person who commanded this German tank unit was Captain Kron. When he stood on the turret and saw the gray and black smoke in the distance through the telescope in his hand, the first thought that he had fallen into his mind was to encounter Russian armored troops, and it seemed that their number was still huge, at least not all his troops could deal with.

Afterwards, Captain Karen considered how he should deal with it: retreat? This shows the safest way. When the enemy is strong and we are weak, the first thing he should choose is this tactic. However, the cruel reality tells him that if he rushes to retreat the troops now, the battle will become very difficult. Nothing else, because the tank troops that have just entered the October Farm are not ready to start fighting immediately, and they need time. Therefore, from a responsible perspective, Captain Karen felt that he should organize a sniper battle on this line while sending back the enemy information notification, at least delaying the Russians' advancement speed.

Although Captain Karen's army was not high, his willpower was very firm. Once he had this idea, he immediately decided to put it into practice and set up a temporary sniper position.

To be honest, the terrain on this line is not suitable for a tank sniper battle. The flat road and dense woods limit the flexible movement of the tank to the greatest extent. Under such conditions, there is almost no possibility of ambush, and both sides can only face to face and head-on collision.

However, even so, Captain Karen tried his best to make use of the terrain and gain even a last advantage for himself. To achieve this goal, Captain Karen divided the troops he had on his way into two queues, preparing to attack the Soviet tank troops who were about to arrive. At the same time, he also drew out four PZ-4s and lurked in the outer periphery of the jungle on the left so that he could surprise the Soviet tanks.

The Soviet army's rapid advancement caused Captain Karen to have not arranged much time at all. Just when his tank had not yet discharged the best attack formation, the Soviet army's pathfinding troops at the corner first appeared in Captain Karen's vision.

Due to Sokolov's formation method, the first one to encounter German tanks at this left-side bend was the 285th Regiment in which direction. The vanguard of the regiment encountered three 38t rushing straight from the left wing when he just turned over the bushes. Although this Czech tank is relatively close to the pz-3 tank in terms of firepower, it weighs only half of the pz-3. Therefore, its maneuverability is quite good and it is a good choice for assault operations.

The first thing that was attacked was the two "Stuarts" in the Soviet army. This "big guy" from American aid was not favored by Sokolov. They had weak firepower and thin armor. The only advantage they had was their good maneuverability and fast driving speed. The Soviet army's tank soldiers were obviously not optimistic about this kind of tank. Therefore, when three 38t appeared in front of them without warning, the two tanks chose to retreat. They did not even turn, but drove back to their rear team.

"coax!"

"coax!"

"coax!"

Three consecutive cannons were fired, and the Germans rushed forward and opened fire. Unfortunately, two of the tanks were obviously not lucky. Their shells were not able to hit their targets. Instead, the one slightly behind them hit the rage shot from their cannon chamber and hit a Stuart's turret.

The American things did not look very good. The 38t shell pierced the Sturat's turret. Then, in a series of huge explosions and subsequent rising flames and smoke, the Sturat's turret was blown into pieces.

The loud noise from the left flank in front made Sokolov immediately realize that his flank troops were attacked. He quickly picked up the telescope and looked in that direction. Then with the help of the telescope, he saw that there had been a fierce exchange of fire at the front of the 285th Regiment, and more than a dozen German tanks were penetrated into the inner circumference of the regiment like moths to a flame.

Faced with this situation, Sokolov was not panicked. He saw from the telescope that the German raid troops had very few troops and the organization of the offensive was also very fragile. No matter how you look at this style of play, you will find your own way of thinking.

A tank unit with strong maneuver power does not choose to evacuate when encountering a large number of enemy troops. Instead, it seems to be making such a move as a mantis arm to hit a car. The problem is intriguing. There is no doubt that this German unit is delaying time in this way.

"Order the 285th Regiment to handle the battle on its own, and we will speed up the forward move forward." Sokolov turned his body and said to the correspondent waiting for the order below. "Tell them that they must deal with these flies as soon as possible and do not let them affect the artillery battalion behind them."

The correspondent immediately conveyed Sokolov's order.

And at this kung fu, the battle of the 285th Regiment was already in full swing.

The three 38ts that rushed into the Soviet tank camp were obviously moving too fast. They lost the protection from the rear. Perhaps the initial assault could make the Soviet army suffer a little loss, but when the battle entered a stalemate, their doomsday came. There was no suspense in this battle in a small area. Several shells were shot in succession. Almost in an instant, two 38t turrets were directly overturned to the ground and turned into two piles of pure scrap iron. Although the last one escaped the first wave of Soviet artillery attacks, its nightmare had just begun. A shell hit the track on his flank, and for a while

With the sound of steel touching, the poor 38t became a dead target that would not move. The German soldiers in the cabin obviously had a premonition of the situation. A German soldier in black armored suit lifted the hatch and drilled out, preparing to escape the "living coffin". But before he could run two steps, a shell hit the tank and directly hit the turret of the tank. The flying shrapnel and the cracked armored iron sheet hit the German soldier and cut the entire calf of his right leg. Then, before he could scream a few times, a Soviet tank that rushed over from the flanks steadily crushed his rolling body.

After destroying the three German tanks rushing into the front of the array, the tank marshal on the right wing of the 285th Regiment immediately began to advance. This assault pulled out the four main battle t-34s that were originally in the back. Less than 150 meters behind them, it was a V-1 heavy tank with enough firepower to make people scared.
