Chapter 9 The Hell-like Swamp

In the birch forest covered by sunlight and green shadows, Chu Sinan, who had just accepted Suchekov's appointment as a captain before his death, followed the top soldier Akhromeyev and ran all the way to the northeast. Their target was the Vigi swamp area outside the woods. Behind them, the German gunshots were always followed, and although they had not been able to catch up, they were not thrown away. Chu Sinan was sure that there must be military dogs in the hands of the following German troops. Fortunately, this forest land was lush enough. If it were on an ordinary plain, they would never have any chance to survive. German tanks or armored vehicles could easily catch up with them.

I don’t know how long I ran away for the desperate period, Chu Sinan felt that the light in the forest gradually became stronger. He knew that this was because the trees became sparse, in other words, they were already close to the edge of the forest.

When the last birch tree with "eyes" on the trunk was also left behind by several people, Chu Sinan's eyes suddenly became clear. He saw that less than a mile away from the forest, there was a lush reed marsh that could not be seen at first sight. It was July, and the vast reed marsh was like a light green wave. The breeze blew, and the green waves were floating, layer by layer, which was spectacular.

"Captain," Akhromeyev stopped and said to Chu Sinan who was following him, "We arrived, from here to enter the swamp area, then turn east and finally arrive in Vigi."

Chu Sinan nodded, then winked at Akhromeyev, signaling him to lead the way, and everyone rushed into the swamp, because he had heard the shouts of the German army who had been chasing behind him and had been reluctant to leave.

“Wow…”

"Puchi, puchi..."

The muddy swamp sounded breaking the silence, and Chu Sinan and his seven men officially entered this crisis-ridden death zone. As a special force soldier, Chu Sinan once went to Turkey for a special tour during military exchanges between China and Turkey. Although the training site was the training ground of the Turkish Special Mountain Combat Brigade, he had also conducted special swamp survival training. However, the swamp in front of him was obviously different from the swamp he had entered when he was trained. It was too primitive and the conditions were too difficult.

The marsh is filled with miasma and the smell is very pungent. In just a moment, people will feel dizzy. The dark marsh sewage is dirty and muddy, and it is the favorite place for insects such as flies and mosquitoes to live in. Once people walk over, they can hear the "buzz" sound like a bomber. Even in the edge area that has just entered, the mud can be indifferent to the knees and step down, and the mixed yellow mud water surges up, mixed with the dark floating water, forming a strange black-brown vortex.

The desire to survive made everyone not care about the mud and dirty in the swamp. Under the leadership of Akhromeev, the seven people plunged into the swamp one after another, just like the thirsty person who had just walked out of the desert and encountered the oasis pond.

Akhromeev seemed to have some research on how to walk through the swamp. He tried his best to pass through the small puddles where reeds were not growing, and he specially picked up places with dense reeds. The swamp was full of dangers and was covered with bottomless mud ponds everywhere. Maybe if you step over, you will never be able to take it back. You can only wait for the arrival of death.

As he deepened step by step in the swamp, the noise of the German pursuers behind him gradually became weak. After the last burst of gunfire, Chu Sinan breathed a sigh of relief. He knew that the pursuers were discouraged in front of this swamp.

"Comrade Captain, it seems we are going to take a risk."

After nearly half a day of trekking, the group stopped in front of the empty pond and looked forward. A black pond was endless. Everyone knew that this was the real place of death. Akhromeyev looked puzzled. He looked at Chu Sinan beside him and said in a difficult tone.

"Don't worry, there will always be a solution." Chu Sinan was able to see it openly. He reached out to pat the "Future Marshal"'s shoulder and comforted with a smile, "It's rare that there is a dry land here. Let's take a break here now and then go there together."

As if infected by his emotions, Akhromeev's face also flashed with a smile. He nodded heavily, then walked straight to a dry short tree next to him and sat down.

Chu Sinan sat down cross-legged, then untied the front of the clothes and wiped it hard on his face with the corner of his clothes. On his face, there was still plasma that splashed on his morning encounter with the enemy. Now it was dry, hard, and a strong smell of fishy smell, which made people feel very uncomfortable.

"Captain," Akhromeyev, who was next to him, took out a gray handkerchief from his military pocket and handed it to him, "Give it, use this."

"Oh, thank you, Comrade Akhromeyev." Chu Sinan was not polite. He took it over and wiped it on his face while asking, "How long have you been in the army?"

"In another week, it will be two full years, Comrade Captain," Akhromeev replied.

"Oh, then you are considered a veteran," Chu Sinan said casually, "What do you think of our war this time?"

"With the great Comrade Stalin and the command of the Supreme Command, our great Soviet regime will surely achieve the final victory." Akhromeev said solemnly.

"Then what do you think of our military defeat at this stage?" Chu Sinan said calmly.

Akhmeroyev's eyes flashed, and a hesitant expression appeared on his face. After a while of silence, he said: "This is mainly because the Germans are too cunning and shameless. They unilaterally tore up the non-aggression treaty with us. Under the sudden attack, our army did not have time to respond in time, and it was natural that there would be some failures in a while. However, this situation will not last long. Our great Soviet regime has a stable foundation, a vast territory, a large strategic depth, and sufficient supply in the rear, so we can persist in a long-term consumable war. On the other hand, the German fascists do not have these favorable conditions."

Chu Sinan nodded silently. He had to admit that Achmeroyev was very smart and cautious. On the issue just now, he just walked by and played a trick of changing concepts. In fact, anyone with a discerning eye could see that the reason why the Soviet Union was defeated so badly in the early stage was because of the paralysis of the central leadership, the tactical problems of the Soviet command, and the third was because there were many soldiers and few generals, and the command was not effective. Needless to say, the central government's paralysis of the central government, Stalin was upright and upright.
