Chapter 24 Touchstone

After getting out of Jinsley's car, Ryan lowered his baseball cap and glanced around him quickly. Seeing that there was nothing unusual, he waved to the agent lady in the car, lowered his head and ran into the campus.

He can't stay at home forever. If he takes a leave for too long, he can only stay at the level. Fortunately, as time goes by, the popularity of topics about him gradually decreases, and there are countless celebrities and gossip in Hollywood, so naturally someone will take over him to attract the attention of the media and the public.

"Hi, Ryan, it's been a long time no see, why do you always take a long vacation?"

Ryan had just sat in the chair when Jerry in front and Peter on the other side came over.

"You know, I've always been busy." Ryan responded casually, but his face was always hidden in the shadow of the baseball cap.

"Yeah, you're really busy." Jerry tilted his head and suddenly said, "Ryan, can you take off your baseball cap?"

"Hat? What's wrong?" Ryan didn't think much about it, and took off his hat and placed it on the table.

"Peter!" After Jerry called out, Peter quickly took out a newspaper from his schoolbag, looked at the picture on the front page, and said with great certainty, "That's right, it's him."

Ryan's mouth couldn't help but tremble. In his perception, children of this age wouldn't go to read newspapers and magazines at all. Now that he has grown up, it is somewhat different from what he looks like in his sixth sense. Unexpectedly, these two guys would go to read the Los Angeles Times.

"Wow, it's true, Ryan, it turns out that you are really the little boy in "The Sixth Sense". So you also wrote Harry Potter? You know that I like this book the most, but you never told me that you are the author."

Jerry's shouting was not a big deal, and immediately attracted the attention of the whole class. He simply snatched the newspaper in Peter's hands, "Don't you read newspapers and magazines? Don't you read entertainment news? Don't you watch movies? Do you know who the little boy in "The Sixth Sense" is? Do you know who your favorite author of "Ryan Story Collection" and "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone"? It's Ryan."

The classroom suddenly turned into a vegetable market. All the boys and girls with overenergy rushed over, rushing to look at the newspaper more than half a month ago. Although there were a lot of creases on the newspaper, the picture was still clear. Who would it be if Ryan were not.

A lively girl simply snatched the newspaper, stood on a chair, and read the report clearly. She said to the ten-year-old child that they could understand most of the contents. Until then, they believed that the authors of the children's books they often read were their classmates!

Looking at the guys staring at him around him, Ryan didn't move. He only felt his face turning white, his eyes turning black, and the pen in his hand seemed to have turned into green bamboo. Even though he knew that he would be discovered sooner or later, he didn't expect that he would become the target of onlookers on the first day of returning to school.

"Ryan, why have you never told us?" The girl actually asked.

It seems that we are not very familiar with each other, right? Ryan could only roll his eyes. To be honest, except for Jerry and Peter, he only knows the names in the class.

"I said, when my father and I went to watch "The Sixth Sense", we always felt that the little boy inside looked familiar. Now when I think about it, wasn't it just what Ryan just turned around last year?" Another boy suddenly realized.

"Oh my God, you are also the screenwriter of the movie! My mom likes this movie so much. She has watched it four times. She said the story is so wonderful. She cried every time she watches it. She said that the box office of this movie will be about to be $100 million!" Another girl was speaking, "And, Ryan, I want to ask, when will the third episode of Harry Potter be released?"

Ryan could only smile helplessly. No matter what, these people were just curious children, not paparazzi. Just as he was about to answer, another person asked, "Ryan, how many big stars have you seen? Can you help me get Tom Cruise's signature?"

"And Ryan, how did you write these stories?"

"Ryan, are you really an orphan?"

"Ryan, is it fun to make a movie? Can you take us to the scene?"

Maybe I should have transferred to school! Ryan had this idea, but after thinking about Nicole who was getting busier and busier, he automatically snatched the idea and immediately shouted, "Stop! Stop!"

The messy classroom finally became quiet, but these children were at the age of the most curious and had no intention of dissipating. Especially Jerry, after blinking his eyes, suddenly said, "I understand! I understand! No wonder Ryan writes and draws every day, but it turns out that he is writing stories."

"Okay, Jerry, you answered correctly, but there was no reward." Ryan waved his hand vigorously and said to his classmates. "Harry Potter and other works are indeed created by me. I have never seen a few big stars. The only star I have worked with is Al Pacino, Tom Cruise is not familiar with, and the signature cannot be used for you."

Then, Ryan showed a playful smile, "As for filming, it's not fun at all. Those film directors have very bad tempers. Once you make a mistake, they will scold you mercilessly. Even if you cry, you won't stop, and no one will sympathize with you, because you haven't finished your work, and when you shoot at night, you often go all night long. If you can't finish the filming, you won't be allowed to sleep! Also, when the director makes you laugh, you have to laugh, and when you make you cry, you have to shed tears immediately. When you make you crazy, you have to become a lunatic immediately, so it's not fun to shoot movies!"

Ryan's nonsense made the other children stunned. In their consciousness, making movies should be a very interesting thing, but I didn't expect that I could hear such a terrifying answer now.

"Okay, class is about to begin. Can I discuss any questions when I have any questions when I have lunch break?" After Ryan's intimidation and persuasion, the guys finally disbanded. He was not too worried. Although children of this age were very curious, they often only had three minutes of popularity. After a longer period of time, they would naturally turn their attention to other aspects.

"Ryan, what you said is not true, right?" Jerry came over again and lowered his voice and said, "I won't tell anyone else."

"Of course... it's fake!"

"Also, Ryan, Harry Potter's third episode is finished? Can we take a look first?" Peter's head also stretched out.

"No." Ryan certainly wouldn't admit it.

The class bell finally rang, and Ryan finally breathed a sigh of relief. He felt that it was more tiring to deal with these peers than to deal with paparazzi. However, not long after the class began, he discovered a new situation.

Ms. Sarah, the teacher in the English class, always glances over from time to time, with curious and inquiring eyes. Even if Ryan is doing her own thing, she still detects it sensitively.

"Ryan, can you help me?" Ms. Sarah walked over and asked in a low voice just before get out of class.

"Ah? Of course." Ryan put away his pen, shook his wrist, and suddenly realized that this was his teacher, "I'm sorry..."

"No need to apologize, Ryan, a child who can write such a great work. I don't think I have anything to teach him." Ms. Sarah smiled, "My daughter loves the Harry Potter series very much. After watching the second episode, she kept clamoring to watch the third episode. I want to ask, when will the third episode be published?"

...

Burbank is located in the north of Los Angeles and is one of the many satellite cities in Los Angeles. The most famous one here is the media industry. The headquarters or important departments of many media and entertainment companies such as the National Broadcasting Corporation, Disney Company, and Warner Bros. are located here. Therefore, Burbank is also known as the "World Media Capital".

Carter Eisner, at Walt Disney's headquarters, left his uncle's office and returned to the office floor of Touchstone Pictures. However, the pair of frowning eyebrows never separated, making the face, which was not handsome, almost turned into bitter melon.

No wonder he was worried. Touchstone Pictures has been established for seven years. Although it is backed by Disney, it has always lacked works with enough influence in both movies and TV shows. Not to mention that compared with the seven major film companies, even Miramax after launching "The Sixth Sense" is almost overwhelming.

At the beginning of this year, Carter became the vice president of Touchstone Films' film business. Although he tried hard to open up the situation, the effect was not obvious. The company's doubts about him never disappeared. Who made him under thirty this year? Who made him the nephew of Michael Eisner?

"Carter, Director Chris Columbus is waiting for you in the office." When passing the secretary desk, the secretary reminded him.

"Chris? Oh, yes, he made an appointment to meet me today." Carter Eisner continued, "How long has he been here?"

"It's been more than half an hour."

"Hell, I'm going to hurry up, I hope he can bring good news." Carter quickly pushed the door and entered the office.

Chris Columbus, wearing a gray suit, was sitting on the sofa, drinking coffee while reading a book, and seemed very fascinated, even Carter Eisner didn't notice it.

"Sorry, Chris, I've kept you waiting for a long time!" Carter had to take the lead in saying hello.

"It's not long before I finished reading a story." Chris Columbus closed the book.

"Okay, Chris." Carter smiled apologetically, "I wonder what you have to do with me today? Are you planning to make a new movie?"

"Yes, Carter." Columbus explained, "I'm looking for a partner, I don't know Touchstone Pictures..."

He made a gesture you understand.

"Have you brought the script?"

Although the other party has not had many works, almost every part of the company is selling, so Carter naturally hopes that he can bring him a surprise.

"The script has not yet." Chris Columbus made another apology gesture, "The story has already existed."

After saying that, he handed Carter the book he had closed.

"Ryan's Story Collection?"
