0057 Hebaais Island

In 1579, Sir Herrera of Aviles, Spain, traveled across the Atlantic Ocean on his beloved Shallow Crocodile to the rich New World as the governor of Honduras.

As a result, after only half a year of a happy life, he developed an infectious disease.

The Shallow Crocodile was led by Captain Mikel Arteta and returned to China for treatment. On the way, he encountered a storm. Not only did he break the navigation compass, but he also deviated from the route. On a foggy day, he accidentally drove into this strange foggy area.

Lorraine suspected that the ship had offended the gods and Buddhas all over the sky...

They lost their way in the fog area and struggled to survive. Sir Herrera's infectious disease broke out on the ship again. After a long pain, they eventually took the lives of the entire ship.

This is why there are so few corpses on the ship.

Those who die early, those who are about to die are thrown into the sea by those who have enough energy, and those who are weak are abandoned by those who are strong.

The fewer people on the boat were thrown away, and those who abandoned others suffered far longer fear and despair than those who were abandoned. In loneliness, sin and curse, they welcomed the final death.

Lorraine silently read all the non-code words in her diary.

The first half of the group is full of ambition, recording the voyage of the Shallow Crocodile across the Atlantic Ocean and to the New World. The second half is becoming increasingly sloppy. They carry patients back to their country, encounter storms, diseases, are trapped in fog areas, and murder crew members...

Captain Arteta cursed his employer, Sir Herrera, in his diary.

It was the selfish and crazy nobleman who ordered the abandonment of the first group of living people. This ocean-going warship, which originally had 80 excellent sailors and had no damage in the hull, would lose its last chance to fight in the midst of the betrayal of relatives and the killing of each other.

And Sir Herrera failed to have a good end.

After two loyal and powerful musket guards fell ill, the three masters and slaves were brutally exiled to a small boat by the last crew, without any food and waiting to die with the waves.

"Good and evil will be rewarded in the end..." Lorraine murmured and closed her diary, looking up to Noah and Henna, "No wonder the captain and the navigator live in the lower cabin. It turns out that the ship carries noble guests."

"passenger?"

"Yes, Sir Herrera of Aviles lives in the upper cabin with his two guards."

"Aviles... Herrera?" Noya looked strange, "I remember..."

Lorraine smiled and raised the diary in her hand.

"The Herrera Chamber of Commerce, the close alliance of the Desay Chamber of Commerce, is the Chamber of Commerce of Aviles. This diary can ruin their family reputation and is the most precious gift that Captain Arteta left for us."

Lorraine's words made Henna curious: "What is written in it?"

"A mean murder." Lorrain re-wrapped the diary and tied the straps. "Sir Herrera forced the captain to murder about twenty sick crew members. Out of guilt, Captain Arteta recorded everything in detail."

"It's a baby." Henna gave the attribution concisely.

This diary turns the Shallow Crocodile from a broken ship into a treasure ship.

After coming out of the captain's cabin, they went to the upper floor and found a ruby-shaped ring in the Jazz's cabin, as well as a small box, about three hundred Pistolls.

Pistole is a gold coin minted in Spain, which is equivalent to the pound, but is rare now.

The Spanish now prefer small eight-character gold coins and Spanish gold dollars. Pistore is increasingly less circulating and is increasingly having a premium for collections.

Just find the right buyer, a Pistoll can be sold for about two to three pounds.

Compared with the Captain's sailing diary, these things can only be considered a small gain.

The three returned with a full load, and the sailors untied their ropes with the Shallow Crocodile, watching the ghost ship in the fog disappear into the fog again, continuing its endless wandering.

The atmosphere on the boat was depressing.

Lorraine gathered his seamen together and held a short meeting by the hole in the bow of the ship.

"We found Mr. Arteta's navigation diary on the Shallow Crocodile, and according to his guess, it is probably Hebasi."

"Herbasi?"

The seamen had completely different expressions, Henna, Noah and Pierce were confused, while Kron and Acharin, tied to the bowstrip, were full of horror.

The name of Hebasi is a mysterious island, and has been circulated in the talks of ocean sailors since 1325.

At the earliest, people speculated that it was the New World at the end of the ocean. When Columbus discovered the New World, it became a Devil's Island hanging alone in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

The isolated island prevailed in Europe from the 15th to the 17th century. The "Sailor's Mirror" has annotation about the island of Hebasi. It is located in the mid-latitude waters west than Iceland, but it was soon proved to be wrong.

In 1674, John Nasbult, an adventurer in Kilberges, Ireland, claimed that he had found and landed on the island of Hebasi.

He said there was a male wizard living on the island, raising a black rabbit as big as a mountain as a pet, and liked to give gold coins to lucky sailors.

But he did not announce the location of the island, and the seamen and sailors on the ship did not respond positively to his claim.

Two years later, his ship, Macaw, disappeared in the North Atlantic, and some say they went to Hebasi again and were kept by the wizards on the island.

Lorraine has always scoffed at the legend of Hebasi, but what if... what John Nasbert said is true?

He briefly introduced the past of Hebasi Island to the seafarers, and the seafarers frowned one by one.

Henna stared into Lorraine's eyes: "Are you going to explore the fog area?"

Lorraine held the compass and shrugged: "We are heading west."

“Turn?”

"We rushed into the fog area from the northeast, drifting south at the earliest, and now we are drifting westward. The Shallow Crocodile has been drifting in this small sea for two hundred years but has not left, which shows that we are in a closed circulation."

Lorraine circled around the hole and looked at the center of the hole inexplicably: "If this is really Hebasi Island, then the island must be in the circulation center, otherwise the closed loop will be opened, and the ocean currents will be chaotic, and it will not be so stable."

"The wizard who gave gold coins..." He smiled and looked up at his seafarers, "Gentlemen, ladies, do you want to visit the wizard's house?"

...

This is not too difficult to make a decision, because they are in a bad situation now.

Nearly a thousand kilometers away from the mainland, the watertight cabin is seeping water, and there may be murderers waiting for them outside the fog area.

Everyone actually knows in their hearts that if they cannot dock and repair it in a short period of time, the possibility of their safe return to England is approaching zero.

In contrast, the risk of exploring the unknown is much smaller, and at least, they can still see opportunities to live.

In order to survive, choose adventure.

In order to boost the morale of the sailors, Lorraine took out Pistoll, who was searched for from the Shallow Crocodile, and gave each sailor two prizes.

Six to ten pounds are equivalent to their months of salary, and this unexpected joy makes the sailors happy and energetic.

Just amid laughter, Lorraine announced the news about Hebasi, which was unanimously supported by the whole ship.

As she became busy on the Butterfly Flower, she slowly and firmly turned the bow of the boat, cut across the circulation, heading northward, towards the depths of the unknown, foggy sea.
