Chapter 216: Attacking Taiwan(2/2)

Yuan'er hasn't had a cold recently, so it's okay to replenish qi.

Zhao Yan took the bowl and fed Yuan'er himself. After a while, Zhang went out. Yuan'er asked Zhao Yan: "Husband, do you want a boy or a girl?"

"Boys and girls like each other, but my husband still likes girls more. But now my family is big and I have to have a son to inherit the family business." Zhao Yan thought for a while and said, after all, his daughter is sensible and must be very cute, so he naturally prefers to have a daughter. If he is a son, it will be a headache, and the most troublesome thing is the problem of education.

Of course, Zhao Yan has not yet thought about how many families to keep for his son to inherit. In fact, constitutionalization is a good choice. When he dies, his descendants do not have to worry about any life problems, nor do he have to worry about the destruction of his descendants, and the prosperity of the nation can also be continued well.

However, the throne is still under Chongzhen's hands.

Now that my troops have almost expanded, I can consider starting to tease Chongzhen after solving Mongolia.

Yuan'er felt relieved when she heard Zhao Yan's words. No matter what Zhao Yan likes, she doesn't have to worry about anything.

...The first fleet that set out in early March finally arrived at the Taiwan Strait after more than half a month of sailing.

Summer is coming soon, and typhoons are easily blown in the Taiwan Strait. The First Fleet must capture the Dutch stronghold in Tainan as soon as possible.

This time, the First Fleet dispatched 26 warships, 20 frigates, 12 troop transport ships, and 6 reconnaissance clippers to form a huge fleet.

This time, each warship was equipped with heavy artillery. The heavy artillery of warships ranged from 40 to 60. After all, the body shapes of these warships are very different.

The frigate is 500 tons, and is equipped with 23 heavy artillery and 30 light artillery.

The navy is relatively expensive, and the most expensive one is artillery. However, Shandong's navy is still small in scale and the cost of artillery is relatively small, at least not as good as that of the army.

The Dutch have been operating in Tainan for more than ten years, and on average, they have to pay about 1.5 million taels of profit to their headquarters every year. However, this is only the part that is paid, and it is unknown how much the part that has not been paid is and how much it costs.

Tainan is very familiar to the Dutch. As early as July 1622 when the Dutch invaded Penghu, Reyjoz came to the waters and land of Taiwan's Dayuan Port (Tainan) for reconnaissance and surveys, and also carried out some commercial and trade activities, which was undoubtedly prepared for the invasion of Taiwan.

At this time, there were 11 islands outside the sea. To the north of the Taijiangkou South Channel, about half a mile wide, there are four islands: North Line, Jia Laowan, Cangzai Port and Haiwenxian. To the south of the Taijiangkou South Channel, there are 7 islands arranged from one Kunhe to seven Kunhe, forming a natural barrier from north to south, forming a large port with a widest area of more than 6 miles and more than 30 miles long, and can be anchored for more than a thousand ships at the same time. In addition, between Luer Island and Jia Laowan at the northern end of the North Line, there is a Luermen Waterway about 1 mile wide, which is the main channel to enter Taijiang. If there is no tide, the Luermen Waterway is too shallow and difficult to pass through warships with deep drafts, so it is easy to defend and difficult to attack, and has high military value.

The Dutch were doing everything they could to achieve the invasion. In September 1624, the Dutch armed fleet commanded by Song Ke left the Fengkou in Penghu and then arrived at the Taiwanese official. At that time, the Dutch, who pretended to be pitiful, suggested that it would be enough to borrow "a place with a big cowhide". The local Han people believed it true and thought that the Dutch were just to park the ship and the place needed was not big, so they agreed.

How big is a place with a large cowhide in the eyes of the Dutch? The Dutch colonists first occupied a Kun-chan, which is today's Anping area in Tainan, and built a large-scale construction to build the "Orrenzhe City". When the local Han people asked the Dutch to promise "a large cowhide", the shameless colonists actually divided a cowhide into very thin leather lines and connected it to enclose land. This is "a cowhide". Orrenzhe City was later changed to a "state" of the Netherlands and named it "Gerlandscha City", becoming the "Governor's Office" of the Netherlands. The inner city was completed at the end of 1632, and the outer city was completed two years later. It was the stronghold of the first foreign invaders established in Taiwan, China.

The second stronghold was "Chekan Tower". While building the city of Relanzha, it also built warehouses, residential and commercial areas in Chikan opposite Taijiang, named Prowencha City, and later renamed Chikan Tower. It also built a solid fortress and fortress on both sides of the mouth of Taijiang. By deceiving the Dutch people who occupied Taiwan, not only did not appreciate the Chinese who lent their land, but instead plundered and suppressed them.

Taiwan's rich products became the target of the Dutch's plunder. The main items plundered by the Dutch were Taiwan's specialties such as deer skin, camphor, betel nut, rice and sugar. Deer skin was the main export material of Taiwan at that time. In 1638, the Netherlands imported 150,000 deer skins from Taiwan to Japan alone. Now Japan is in the Warring States Period, Japanese warriors like to make "Eravening Massia Weather" with deer skin.

The re-export trade was carried out simultaneously with the plunder. During the peak period, the Dutch transported more than 100 merchant ships from mainland China to Taiwan every year, and the goods exported from Taiwan were worth millions of Dutch guilds. They transported Taiwan’s rice, sugar, deer skin and vines to Japan, and even Persia; they transported metals, medicinal materials from the Netherlands, spices, pepper, amber, tin, lead, cotton cloth, opium, etc. from Batavia to mainland China through Taiwan; and then re-exported goods such as raw silk, porcelain, silk fabrics, gold, etc. from mainland China to Batavia or Europe through Taiwan. In this kind of unequal trade, the Netherlands plundered countless goods from mainland China and Taiwan, and also obtained huge profits by drawing high taxes to merchants from China, Japan, and Nanyang, which were doing business in Taiwan. The re-export trade engaged in the Dutch had a strong colonial character.

As early as last year, the First Fleet had sent merchant ships to Tainan for trade, and was banned a lot of taxes, and found some basic information. At the same time, some information was also obtained from some Fujian merchants, but many Tainan was not very familiar with them.

However, the First Fleet obviously didn't want to play anything. On March 23, the First Fleet came directly outside the Dayuan Port. More than 30 merchant ships were parked in the Dayuan Port, and ten warships just drawn from the Cape of Good Hope.

The turrets on both sides of the Dayuan Port were mostly unavailable on the sea, but those turrets could be shot. Su Buheng ordered ten warships to block outside the port and shoot at the Dutch turrets, preventing ships from coming out.

Ten warships opened fire one after another, removing several artillery batteries outside the Dayuan Port, but the First Fleet did not dare to rush in. After all, there were too many artillery batteries in the Dayuan Port, and the insurance was still blocked.

At the same time, Su Buheng transferred another sixteen warships and twenty frigates to the Luermen waterway.

The Dutch built two solid groups of artillery on both sides of Taijiangkou, and the artillery was protected in the fortress. However, there were not many other first fleets, but there were many heavy artillery.

Sixteen warships aimed at the fortresses on both sides of Taijiangkou and bombarded violently. After the Dutch's artillery counterattacked, they could not hit the first fleet because the range was insufficient.

The shells of the First Fleet usually landed on the Dutch fortress, and the aiming of cannons was very easy. Two thousand meters away, most of the shells fell on the Dutch fortress.

The fortress was built very strongly.

However, the shells of the First Fleet are more powerful. Each shell can cause stone chips to fly away from the fortress, and then the shells explode directly. If they are bounced open, it would be fine. If the shells are stuck in the fortress, they can directly explode a big hole.

Sixteen warships bombarded the fortress at Taijiangkou for nearly an hour. The Dutch fortress was smashed into a pothole, and more and more shells were stuck in the fortress. The holes were getting bigger and bigger. Finally, the shells flew directly into the fortress and exploded in the fortress... One and a half hours later, the fortress at Taijiangkou was successfully removed.

Twenty frigates carried soldiers and rushed in directly from Taijiang. Taijiang was one mile wide, but the river channel was relatively shallow, but the frigates were not drenched. After removing the fort at the mouth of Taijiang, the entire Taijiang River was basically unobstructed.

Twenty frigates directly flowed into the water village of Chikan Tower.

From a distance, the frigate launched a shelling attack on the water village in Chikan Tower.

Blast open the wooden village gate and rush into the water village!

The Dutch soldiers inside wanted to resist, but twenty frigates rushed into the water camp without hesitation, and the Dutch artillery was basically scrapped.

The melee has begun.

There was chaos in the water village, and the light artillery on the frigate began to shoot around, with the sound of shells everywhere, and the Dutch soldiers in the water village were bombed and hidden everywhere.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, the frigate began to dock, and the soldiers of the Nanyang Infantry Brigade above began to jump off the frigate, quickly squadroned, shooting at the surrounding Dutch people.

Those who have not logged in will shoot directly on the deck.

The firepower was too fierce. Five or six hundred Dutch soldiers faced two thousand Marine soldiers, and there were so many shells that they could not raise their heads at all.

Especially the snipers in the Marine Corps basically shoot one shot within three hundred meters, and the other soldiers' shooting skills are also extremely accurate. The accuracy of the rifled gun is far from comparable to that of the smoothbore gun. Dutch soldiers are still using outdated smoothbore guns.

During the melee, the Marines easily landed.

And it appeared directly in the Water Village, and the city wall of Chikan Tower had lost its function.

The fierce battle lasted only for more than ten minutes. Under the cover of artillery fire, the Marines completely controlled the situation. Two thousand Marine soldiers landed on the ship and began to clean up the remaining enemies in Chikan Tower.

Just one hour later, the battle in Chikan Tower ended.

When the Dutch people who came to support him from Jelanzha arrived, Chikanlou had been completely controlled by the Nanyang Infantry Brigade.

After taking down Chikan Tower, Relanzha City was basically out of stock.

The biggest problem in fighting Taiwan is the login site.

If you log in from places like Taipei, some are in places, but the problem is that Taiwan’s terrain is relatively complex and the roads are not very smooth.

There are basically few suitable login sites in Tainan.

But taking down Chikan Tower is equivalent to taking down a landing point, and subsequent troops can directly attack Relanzha City by land.

...The East India Company has actually planned to withdraw from East Asia. After several years of maritime conflict, they are extremely lucky.

At the same time, they realized that they had provoked a terrifying opponent.

However, at this time, news came from the Netherlands that the Netherlands had formed a maritime coalition with Britain and France, attacking the Far Eastern people in the Americas.

Moreover, the Netherlands has reached a new agreement with Britain and France. After resolving the Far Eastern people in the Americas, the joint fleet will come to the Far East to attack the Far Eastern people.

It would be enough to hold on for a year or two, so Batavia Company transferred thirty warships from India, Cape of Good Hope and other places, which was already the last time.

After these thirty warships arrived in the Far East, ten were arranged to Taiwan and kept hiding in the port and not going out.

But unexpectedly, the Shandong Navy came directly to the door.

Originally, they thought these Shandong navy would attack from the port, but unexpectedly, they directly removed the entrance of the Luermen waterway and quickly captured Chikan Tower.

Putman, the fourth Dutch governor in Taiwan, felt that surrender had become their only way out.
