Chapter 35 Assassin

At midnight, everything is quiet.

The predators in the dark night reap their lives ruthlessly or are harvested by more powerful natural enemies. The natural law of survival of nature is fully demonstrated in the darkness.

On a tree not far from Willy, a hunter leaned on the wide trunk and was sleeping.

Suddenly, the sleeping hunter shivered. He opened his eyes and looked around, as if he felt something was wrong.

"Is it an illusion..."

The hunter murmured to himself, about to fall asleep with anxiety, but suddenly he felt the sound of leaves rubbing on his head.

He looked up subconsciously, but suddenly he found a figure falling from the sky.

The figure held a short blade in his hand and his eyes were fierce.

"you……"

The hunter reached out to touch the knife, but his movements were too slow. The figure waved one hand, and the short blade in his hand came from top to bottom, slashing his chest from the hunter's throat, and blood splattered.

The hunter let out a shrill scream and fell directly from the tree trunk to the ground.

He twitched a few times, his eyes filled with panic and unwillingness, and finally he was unable to struggle and lost his life.

The figure on the trunk fell from the tree. He stretched out his finger and snorted the hunter's breath. After confirming that the hunter was really dead, he stood up and walked into the darkness to find the next target.

Under the stars, his eyes were cold.

"Um?"

In the tree hole, Willy suddenly opened his eyes.

Just now, he seemed to hear some strange sound in his sleep.

"It seems that someone is screaming..."

Willy recalled the vague sound, very much like the wailing sound made by a man before his death.

"Has a hunter died?" Willie frowned, "Is it attacked by the predators at night? Or was it discovered the traces of the snow-patterned deer and was killed?"

Thinking of this, Willy no longer had any sleepiness.

The hunter who screamed was not far from him. If he continued to sleep, he might become the next target of attack. Instead of doing this, it would be better to go to the place to investigate. If it was really done by the snow-patterned deer, he might find some traces.

Thinking of this, Willie packed up her belongings, climbed out of the tree hole, and walked towards the place where she screamed.

Willy groped in the darkness and his rich hunting experience allowed him to move freely even in the dark night.

"It should be not far away..."

Willie observed the terrain and the surrounding plants and continued walking.

“There is a bloody smell…”

Willy smelled the blood, and at this moment he became very cautious.

Ten minutes have passed since the screams were heard. Perhaps the corpse had been eaten by the beast's meal, and even the beast might be nearby.

Weili walked forward bit by bit. Sure enough, he saw a gray lone wolf gnawing on a corpse, which had been broken. With the help of the starlight, Weili identified the unbreakable face and found that it was indeed a familiar hunter.

"Is this hunter hunted by this lone wolf?"

A hint of doubt appeared in Willie's eyes.

This is not in line with common sense. First of all, an experienced and fully armed hunter is unlikely to die at the hands of the lone wolf, and the lone wolf will not even approach him. Secondly, Willy discovered that there were no traces of fighting around the lone wolf and the hunter. This is even more unreasonable. Even if the hunter is attacked and bitten, he will not be allowed to be slaughtered. Even if he is still in place, there should be traces of dragging.

In this way, the only explanation is that after the hunter was killed, the lone wolf rushed to pick up food.

Thinking of this, Willie took out the longbow and the arrow.

He used his sword to pull the strings, and the bow to the full moon.

With a whoosh, the bow and arrow shot out, piercing directly into the eye socket of the lone wolf and pierced the back of its head. With the powerful inertia, the lone wolf's body was directly carried away and hit the trunk behind it. The lone wolf's scream was only a brief moment, accompanied by a few twitches, and there was no sound.

Willy didn't delay and walked forward to investigate. His movements needed to be faster, otherwise the smell of blood would attract other predators.

Willie observed the surroundings carefully, and then approached and squatted down in front of the hunter's body.

Originally, Weili didn't feel anything because the junior hunter gave him the ability to stay calm in dangerous moments. But when he was really close to the hunter's corpse, he suddenly felt a little nauseous. This was the first time Weili was approaching the corpse so close, and human instinct made him very uncomfortable.

Weili looked up and took a deep breath. After calming down, he lowered his head again.

"Um?!"

However, when Willie saw the tragic situation of the hunter's corpse, his pupils suddenly shrank.

On the hunter's body, he found a long scar. From his neck to his chest, it was caused by the piercing of a sharp weapon, which was a fatal injury.

"How could such wounds appear? This is obviously artificial!"

Weiley was sure, because it was impossible for the beast to cut such neat wounds. Even the snow-patterned deer with supernatural abilities should not be like this.

"Why do someone kill him...who will do it..."

A layer of coolness filled Waile's body, and the atmosphere of the Boller Forest seemed to drop ten degrees in an instant.

The danger level of the Poller Forest, which was already full of crisis, has been increased by a further level. Not only are there animals that can eat people, but also kill people.

"Will it be the other hunters' hands?"

Weiley narrowed his eyes slightly, and he was guessing whether the conflicted hunter had killed him in a place where no one had happened after entering the Boller Forest.

It would be fine if it was really a hunter seeking revenge in the hunter, but what if it wasn't? That means that all hunters may be the targets of being hunted.

Willy's feeling of anxiety became stronger and stronger.

"Can't continue staying..."

Weili stood up, and he was about to give up this operation of finding the snow-patterned deer. At least, he had to inform Bamos of this abnormal situation first, and Bamos made a decision.

Weiley rushed out of the Boller Forest.

However, after just a few steps, Willy suddenly felt a thorn in his back, as if something dangerous was staring at him.

For a moment, Willy trembled all over, this was the sixth sense given by the hunter's instinct.

There is danger!

Willy almost subconsciously went out of place.

Just as he was dodging, a figure fell from the tree, with a short blade passing by, making a sound of breaking through the air.

Someone wants to kill himself!

Weili turned around and saw a thin and pale man. He was about thirty years old, with cold facial features and unconcealed murderous intent in his eyes. After his first move was lost, he made a second strike without hesitation.
