Chapter 1785 Legendary Character: Yi Yin

Poetry and prose are not complicated, and anyone who has a little research on poetry can basically understand it.

Most people on the scene will have some research on poetry, so most people can understand it. However, everyone has some understanding of the sentence "When you are free to fish on the green stream, you will suddenly ride a boat and dream about the sun."

"If I think nothing is wrong, these should be two allusions. 'I am free to fish on the Bixi River' should be the allusion of Jiang Taigong fishing on the Bixi River in the Weishui River and King Wen of Zhou visiting the wise. I am very familiar with this allusion. But what is the allusion of 'Suddenly riding a boat and dreaming of the sun'? I don't know." Some viewers said this.

This also represents the majority of the audience. They know that this sentence is a allusion. Due to the great influence of "The Romance of the Gods", everyone knows that the first half of the sentence is an allusion about Jiang Taigong, but whose allusion is the second half? I don't know.

Most of the audience didn't know, but a few people including Wang Lun, Lin Rufeng knew that they took the initiative to solve the doubts for everyone on the scene.

This is an allusion about Yi Yin, a legendary figure in the late Xia and early Shang dynasties.

"Suddenly, I dreamed of the sun by the boat" means that Yi Yin once dreamed of passing by the sun by the moon by boat, and was later hired by Shang Tang to help Shang destroy Xia.

Yi Yin, whose original name was Yi Zhi, was born in Kongsang in the late Xia Dynasty. Because his mother lived above Yishui, she regarded Yi as her clan. Later, she was named "Yin" by Shang Tang, which is equivalent to the prime minister in later generations.

Therefore, later generations called him Yi Yin.

Yi Yin was a famous politician and thinker in the early Shang Dynasty, one of the earliest known Taoist figures, a medical scientist, a Chinese chef, and the first emperor in history. He lived a long life and was already a hundred years old when he died.

He spent a century building his legendary life and was worshipped as "Shang Yuan Sheng", "Cooking Saint", and "Cooking Saint".

Yi Yin was born in poverty. According to legend, his parents were both slaves, his father was a household slave chef who was able to slaughter and cook, and his mother was a slave who lived on Yishui to pick mulberry and raise silkworms.

There is also a legend about Yi Yin's birth.

"Lüshi Chunqiu·Benwei" records: "A woman from the family of Mie picked mulberry and got a baby in the mulberry, and offered it to her king, and her king ordered her to raise her."

This means that before Yi Yin's mother gave birth to him, she had a dream, in which a god told her, "The mortar was out of water and walked east, without caring about it."

The meaning is to tell her that there will be a flood in the mortar, so she will quickly escape to the east, but she will not be allowed to tell others.

The next day, Yi Yin's mother found that the water in the mortar was like a spring. The kind-hearted one did not obey God's warning, but informed her neighbors to run east together.

After escaping 20 miles, when everyone looked back, they found that the previous place had become a vast ocean.

Yi Yin's mother saved everyone, but violated God's warnings and was punished, and her body turned into Kongsang.

Kongsang, a legendary place name.

Yi Yin's mother turned into Kongsang, and the fetus in her womb was born and placed in Kongsang.

The girl from Youshen’s family picked up the mulberry tree by Kongsang and found a baby on the ground, so she took it back and presented it to King Youshen. King Youshen ordered his family to raise the baby with a slave chef.

This baby is naturally Yi Yin.

Although the story is a legend, Yi Yin was a slave first and was fostered in a chef's house when he was young and was able to learn cooking skills, which is real.

Only when extraordinary characters are born can such legends be formed.

Yi Yin is obviously an extraordinary person. He has been smart and intelligent since childhood, and has been diligent in studying and improving. Although he has cultivated the wilds of Youshen Kingdom, he is happy with the way of Yao and Shun. He has mastered cooking techniques and has a deep understanding of the way of governing the country.

Because he studied the governance methods of wise kings such as the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors and King Yu, he became famous far and wide, so that King Tang, who was eager to seek talent, went to Youshen Kingdom to hire him repeatedly with jade, silk, horses and skins.

Since King Youshen did not agree to Shang Tang's appointment of Yi Yin, Shang Tang had to marry King Youshen's daughter as his concubine.

So, Yi Zhi came to King Tang as a dowry slave and began his extraordinary achievements in the Shang Dynasty.

Yi Yin was both a minister and a teacher to King Tang, and was the first emperor in history. He taught King Tang to follow Yao and Shun's strategy of governing the world with virtue, attacking Xia in order to save the people, etc.

He made great contributions to the prosperity of the Shang Dynasty.

In addition, Yi Yin also has an important identity, a wizard, who was the largest wizard in the Shang Dynasty.

The "wizard" here is not the kind of person who can do magic, nor the kind of person who pretends to be a ghost and prays for others, but a noble identity.

At that time, witches, history and medicine were integrated, and wizards were also doctors who treated people.

According to legend, Yi Yin often uses herbs to treat people's diseases, and he can cure them. He is known as the "living god".

His creation of decoction and liquor made great contributions to the development of medicine. The masterpiece "Don's Classic of Decoction and Liquor" in traditional Chinese medicine is said to be written by Yi Yin.

"Tangye Jing" is a traditional Chinese medicine work guided by Taoist thought. Its medical purpose and important content lies in taking food to nourish and prolonging life. It embodies the Taoist idea of rebirth and health preservation, and has a very important influence on "Treatise on Febrile Diseases".

At the same time, the foundation of traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions was also laid. The "classic prescriptions" that are still being learned and used originated from this.

Yi Yin was also respected by medical scientists of all generations, and even entered the hall of worship of doctors with the ancient legendary doctor Huangdi and Shennong.

Of course, a few doctors in history believed that Tangye was not the first invented by Yi Yin. But most doctors and most people still firmly believe that Tangye was invented by Yi Yin.

In addition to his contributions to governing the country and medical circles, Yi Yin is also known as the "Cooking Saint", the "Cooking Saint", and the "Cooking Ancestor".

He was the first outstanding chef in history to use a stewardship of the five flavors to assist the emperor in governing the country.

The "Five Flavors Seasoning Theory" and "Fish Theory" he founded are still the unchanging rules of Chinese cooking and the foundation stone of cooking.

He taught the people to mix the five flavors, created the Chinese technique of cutting and cooking, and opened up the dietary river of later generations. He was recognized as the founder of cooking in China.

Of course, some people say that Peng Zu is also the ancestor of cooking, and the reason why Peng Zu is also called the ancestor of cooking is because of his pheasant soup.

According to legend, Emperor Yao had not eaten a grain of rice or drank a drop of water for several days. While he was unconscious and was still breathing, spoonfuls of delicious chicken soup dripped into Emperor Yao's mouth like nectar.

Emperor Yao's intestines suddenly became hot, and the mixed body was full of energy. After opening his eyes, he saw Peng Zu holding a soup bowl in one hand and a bone spoon in the other.

Pheasant soup is also pheasant soup. Peng Zu's "Phisant soup way" gradually developed into "culinary way" later.

Peng Zu also became the ancestor of cooking.

But the story about Peng Zu is just a folk legend after all, while Yi Yin is recorded in historical records.

Moreover, how can Peng Zu's "pheasant soup" be compared with the "five flavors theory" and "hot conditioning theory" founded by Yi Yin?

Therefore, Yi Yin is the true ancestor of cooking in China.

In addition, for chefs, some people also call Yi Ya the ancestor.

Yiya, also known as Diya, was a famous chef in the Spring and Autumn Period. He had high cooking skills and was the first person to open a private restaurant.

It is precisely because of this that he is called the founder by some chefs.

Of course, it is understandable that chefs call this, but the ancestors here are not the ancestors of cooking.

...

Wang Lun, Lin Rufeng and others were excited to tell the stories about Yi Yin to the audience around them.

After hearing this, everyone suddenly realized that there was such a legendary figure in the late Xia and early Shang dynasties.
