Chapter 1298: Master Fahai in History
Why is the fourth reason very reasonable?
Let’s first see a conversation between Fahai and Bai Suzhen before Bai Suzhen was locked up in Leifeng Pagoda.
Fahai: Do not deviate from the scriptures and do not be attached to the world. As long as you have the merits to be perfect, you will naturally ascend in the daytime. Bai Suzhen, you have been practicing for thousands of years. Don’t you understand this principle? To be born, you must first enter the world. To leave the pagoda, you must first enter the pagoda. At the critical moment of enlightenment, you can only move forward and not retreat.
Bai Suzhen: I don’t want to be locked up.
Fahai: This is not a prison, this is cultivation.
Bai Suzhen: I don’t want to practice anymore. I want my official position, I want my son, and I want my home.
Fahai: Your home is the prison.
Bai Suzhen: You are a person without a family, you won’t understand these things.
Fahai: I am homeless, but I have the heart.
Bai Suzhen: If you are heartless and ruthless, how can you be compassionate?
Fahai: I will help you ascend to the immortal world early. Isn’t this great compassion?
Bai Suzhen: I don’t want to become an immortal anymore, I just want to be a human being. Why do you want to break up, break up our husband and wife, break up our mother and son? Is it because you are all empty, so you are jealous of others?
Fahai: This is outrageous. Amitabha Buddha, the golden armor god, and the monk, please send her into the pagoda now.
At first glance, you may feel that Fahai is just a false compassion. The so-called helping Bai Suzhen to the fairy world in the morning was just an excuse for him to avenge his revenge.
If Bai Suzhen wants to achieve perfect merit and ascend to a hundred days, how can she need Fahai’s help?
But in fact, it may not be, because Bai Suzhen has moved her heart and is greedy for the world. She can no longer rely solely on her own merits to be perfect and be in the immortal world.
Of course, in the past, Bai Suzhen had this ability, but since she met Xu Xian, Bai Suzhen gradually lacked this ability.
When Bai Suzhen had just turned into a human form, she went to the Golden Pin of Emei to seek enlightenment by Guanyin Master.
When Guanyin Master said that her worldly relationship had not yet ended, Bai Suzhen said, "The disciple's mind has been settled, and all thoughts are silent. Any worldly relationship is willing to give up."
At that time, Bai Suzhen was devoted to the Tao and practiced diligently, just to ascend to the fairy world as soon as possible.
At that time, she naturally had the ability to fulfill her merits and achieve success in the immortal world.
However, after being guided by Master Guanyin, after meeting Xu Xian at the Broken Bridge in West Lake, Bai Suzhen gradually fell into love and threw the matter of cultivation behind her.
After Bai Suzhen became pregnant with Xu Xian's child, Xiaoqing was worried that Bai Suzhen would fall into the world forever because she could not give up her family affection. She reminded Bai Suzhen many times that she would repay her kindness, but don't delay her practice.
But at this time, Bai Suzhen was completely unable to give up the world. She didn't want to be a god anymore, but just wanted to be a god with Xu Xian until she was old.
This can also be seen from the conversation with Fahai before Bai Suzhen entered Leifeng Pagoda.
For this reason, Bai Suzhen was even willing to pass on all her 1,700 years of skills to Xiaoqing, helping Xiaoqing achieve her merits as soon as possible, and being in the immortal class, while she herself stayed in the world and lived a sweet and happy life with Xu Xian.
Of course there is nothing wrong with this. As the saying goes, only envy mandarin ducks but not immortals. Sweetness with your close lover in the world is indeed more desirable than a lonely god.
But there is a problem here. Bai Suzhen is a snake demon who has been practicing for thousands of years. Not to mention that she can live forever, but her life span is at least several thousand years.
Xu Xian is just a common man. Even if he can live a long life, it will only take a hundred years.
So, what should Bai Suzhen do if Xu Xian dies a hundred years later?
It would be fine if you could get out of the love network and embark on the path of cultivation again, but if you couldn't get out of the love network, Bai Suzhen would be destined to be with longing and pain for thousands of years or even longer years.
Then, Fahai forced the separation of Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian and forced Bai Suzhen to practice in Leifeng Pagoda. It is not unreasonable to say that it was to help Bai Suzhen ascend to the fairy world early.
After Bai Suzhen was locked up in Lei Feng, Xiaoqing went to Qingfeng Cave to practice hard, so that she could find an opportunity to seek revenge on the Dharma Sea in the future, and Xu Xian also went to Jinshan Temple to practice hard.
Therefore, it can also be said that while Fahai was saving Bai Suzhen, he also saved Xiaoqing and Xu Xian.
The final result also illustrates the problem. After Bai Suzhen came out of the tower, she ascended to become an immortal with Xiaoqing and Xu Xian.
Of course, Fahai was also the one who ascended to become an immortal. Fahai saved Bai Suzhen, Xiaoqing and Xu Xian while saving himself.
The reason why Fahai was able to ascend to become an immortal also proved that his forcibly locking Bai Suzhen into Leifeng Pagoda really helped Bai Suzhen to ascend to the fairy world early.
Because, if Fahai forced Bai Suzhen into Leifeng Pagoda just for his personal grudges, he would obviously not be qualified to become an immortal.
Li Fan agrees with this reason, and this reason can explain a problem.
That was a question when Li Fan was young in his previous life. When he was watching "The Legend of the White Snake", Fahai was obviously so bad, why was he able to become an immortal with Bai Suzhen, Xiaoqing and Xu Xian at the end?
After growing up, Li Fan watched "The Legend of the White Snake" again and slowly found the answer, which was the fourth reason analyzed above.
Of course, this does not mean that Fahai forced Bai Suzhen into Leifeng Tower without any personal grudges. He should have revenge for his private revenge. As for the four reasons, who is the dominant and who is the second? It is hard to explain clearly. Everyone's views may be different.
The above four reasons are all based on the TV series "The New Legend of White Snake" in the previous life, rather than the related legends of the Legend of White Snake, nor are they based on other film and television works about the Legend of White Snake.
The "Legend of White Snake" launched by Li Fan in this world is adapted from the TV series "The New Legend of White Snake".
So the reason why Fahai must be locked in Leifeng Pagoda is destined to cause heated discussions among readers in this world.
The first three reasons are obvious, but it is unknown whether the fourth reason will be analyzed and recognized by everyone.
Li Fan thought that it was certain that he was analyzed, but it should be difficult to get everyone's recognition.
That's not possible. Who makes Fahai feel so bad?
However, when it comes to Fahai and Jinshan Temple, Li Fan believes it is necessary to say a little more.
In the history of his previous life, Zen Master Fahai was a Taoist monk in the Tang Dynasty and made outstanding achievements in the development of Buddhism.
According to legend, Zen Master Fahai is commonly known as Pei Wende, and is the son of Pei Xiu, the famous prime minister of the Tang Dynasty. He respects his father's will and is determined to yearn for Buddhism. He first studied Taoism and practiced Zen in Lushan, Jiangxi, and then went east from Lushan to Jinshan, Zhenjiang.
At that time, the Jinshan Mountain was full of thorns and desolate, and there was also a white python entrenched in a cave, which often endangered all directions.
Fahai defeated the white python and drove it into the sea, and then lived in the cave where the white python was originally entrenched.
Fahai practiced hard here, and opened the mountains and farmed, and worked hard to build the temple, creating the famous Jinshan Temple, which is the founder of Jinshan Temple.
The cave where Fahai lived in that time later became a famous Zen cave. It is the very influential "Zen Master Fahai Meditation Cave". It is also one of the four famous caves on Jinshan today, the Fahai Cave.
It can be seen that in history, Zen Master Fahai was a Kaishan Pei Zu, a Jinshan Temple who practiced asceticism and was respected by people from all walks of life.
