Chapter 593 Never Calm

The bright moon hangs in the night sky and shines on the earth. In the open-air club in the Santa Monica Pier area, Christopher Nolan meets his friend Pete Broderick.

This is the producer who once worked with "The Pursuit", but after "The Pursuit", Pete Broderick and Christopher Nolan embarked on two different paths.

The latter gradually emerged and gradually made a breakthrough in Hollywood; the former entered Fox TV and became an inconspicuous executive producer in some TV series episodes.

"Chris, let me introduce it. This is James Capt, from the 20th Century Fox production department." Pete Broderick introduced it to both parties: "James, this is Christopher Nolan, a talented director."

James Caput took the initiative to step forward and shook hands with Christopher Nolan: "It's a great honor to know you."

Christopher Nolan responded politely, while also observing James Capt, thinking about his identity and purpose of appearing here.

He is a director, and the other party comes from the production department of a large company...

After a simple greeting, Pete Broderick said: "Chris, Mr. Capt came this time, representing Twentieth Century Fox, and I want to talk to you about the new project."

James Capt said: "Chris, I had the honor to see your directed "Batman: The War Moment", a very bold and outstanding superhero movie, which I think is the best of all Batman movies."

"Thank you." Christopher Nolan was modest: "It's too much."

James Capt shook his head: "No, you deserve this movie."

Christopher Nolan smiled, simply stopped talking and waited quietly.

But Peter Broderick continued: "Even Ronan Anderson praised Chris' talent and ability."

According to his words, the director who seems to be praised by Ronan would be a very amazing character.

James Capt also took it for granted, looked at Christopher Nolan and said very sincerely: "Twentieth Century Fox is interested in collaborating with director Nolan."

This was not what Christopher Nolan expected, and the film production company found a director for the purpose of this.

"I am honored to be valued by Twentieth Century Fox." Christopher Nolan was somewhat complacent, but his mind was still relatively clear: "But, Mr. Capt, I have already been fully scheduled for the next five years."

Peter Broderick quickly winked Christopher Nolan. Christopher Nolan was an independent person and just pretended that he didn't see it.

James Capt came over and of course he learned about the situation, saying, "The schedule of director Nolan is a magic-themed movie you just prepared, and there is also a sequel to "The Moment of War" with uncertain factors, right?"

Christopher Nolan looked at Pitt Broderick without any trace, and finally said nothing.

James Capt said again: "Director Nolan, Twentieth Century Fox is very sincere inviting you to cooperate."

"Sorry." Christopher Nolan directly refused: "My schedule is really not suitable."

James Caput continued: "You may have misunderstood that what I mean by collaboration is your magic movie project..."

Christopher Nolan interjected: "I have signed a contract with Shahai Entertainment for this project."

"It doesn't matter, as long as you are willing to work with Twentieth Century Fox, all of this is not a problem." James Capt could vaguely guess why the above was doing this. After all, the troubles that Relativity Entertainment has encountered in the circle are not a secret: "Director Nolan, the project's liquidated damages can be paid for you. When your project reaches Twentieth Century Fox, the production budget will increase by 10%, and you can get all the power except for the final editing rights."

Christopher Nolan just thought for a moment and refused: "Thanks to 20th Century Fox for his attention, but I signed a contract with Shahai Entertainment, and I have to believe in my words..."

"Director Nolan, think about it carefully." Behind James Caput is Twentieth Century Fox, who is just a director who has just entered the second line: "There are not many directors who can make Twentieth Century Fox value it. The opportunity is rare. If you think about it for a few days, you will give me a reply."

Although he rejected it in his heart, Christopher Nolan didn't want to annoy the big companies in the circle. At least he had to be able to live on the spot and said, "I'll think about it for two days."

He was not a fool, and looked at James Capt: "I will let James convey the specific result."

When this former friend called, he said that there was an urgent matter to him, and there was no urgent matter. It was clearly a pit for him. Since this is the case, let this friend be a sound tube and a buffer belt.

Peter Broderick spoke out to persuade him, but Christopher Nolan refused to give him a chance and said, "Mr. Capt, it's too late, I have to go home, otherwise my wife will cause trouble for me."

"Please, please," said James Capt.

Christopher Nolan said to his friend again: "Peter, if we have time, we will get back together. You know Emma's temper."

Pete Broderick knew Nolan's wife, so he didn't have much to say at this time, so he could only say: "You think about it, remember to contact me."

Christopher Nolan left the open-air club and got in the car and did not leave immediately. Instead, he called the agent first: "Dan, I have something to look for you. I'm outside now, go home immediately, you can go directly to my house."

Half an hour later, Nolan met his agent Dan Aroney at home and told him about the general story.

This agent is considered a second-tier caa line and is far from reaching the position of bringing Christopher Nolan to fire caa together in the future. However, those who have the hope of reaching a high position in the future will naturally not be fools.

Dan Aroney didn't give the answer, but asked, "Chris, what did you think?"

Emma Thomas also looked at her husband with concern. She was not a housewife, but a very capable producer.

Christopher Nolan said with a serious look: "It's stupid to change partners at this time. The top Hollywood companies are attractive. Any director wants to cooperate with big companies, and I am no exception. But the scale of relativity entertainment is not small, and it can also be classified as big companies, right?"

Despite knowing her husband, Emma Thomas was relieved to hear these words. She knew that her husband had always wanted to direct big projects in a big company and was worried that he would be attracted by the name of Twentieth Century Fox.

"Relativity Entertainment is very strong," she said to her husband intentionally or unintentionally: "Except for the six major Hollywood companies, Relativity Entertainment is the strongest in the industry."

Dan Aroney echoed: "Emma is very accurate."

Christopher Nolan continued at this time: "Since I am working with a large company, why give up the nearby companies and trust me enough to find strange companies in the distance? I am just a little director who has just made a name for himself. Leaving the Entertainment of Relativity, can 20th Century Fox really give me a higher salary? More trust? More power? Enough creative freedom?"

Emma Thomas smiled and said, "They are commercial companies, not charities."

"Tell you something." Dan Aroney said with a clear attitude when he saw Christopher Nolan, "I didn't want to affect your creation and normal work before, so I didn't tell you about some things that happened in the circle."

As film creators, the Nolan and his wife who devoted all their energy to their work are not too concerned about the outside world.

Dan Aroney said: "Twentieth Century Fox is probably not really trying to cooperate with us. Their real purpose should be to target Relativity Entertainment. Recently, Relativity Entertainment has encountered many troubles, just like the DreamWorks two days ago. Hollywood companies do not want new entrants to top-level forces. They are always creating trouble for Relativity Entertainment intentionally or unintentionally and suppressing the development momentum of Relativity Entertainment."

Christopher Nolan suddenly realized: "The main business of Relativity Entertainment is film production and distribution. My project is different from the project initiated by Embassy Films, a subsidiary of Relativity Entertainment. The original initiator of the project was me, so..."

Dan Arroni nodded slightly: "It's probably that's it." He suddenly sneered and said: "Twentieth Century Fox seems to have promised very well, but for us, the big company cannot be shaken. Chris, you really have to fall out with Relativity Entertainment and Ronan Anderson. No one can guarantee whether Twentieth Century Fox will do what it promised."

Emma Thomas suddenly thought of some cases in the industry: "Even if a contract is signed, studios can delay it with normal reasons such as financing and raising funds."

Christopher Nolan breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Hollywood is not peaceful either."

Dan Arroni smiled and said, "Hollywood has never been calm."

"Two days later, I called Pete and clearly rejected Twentieth Century Fox." Christopher Nolan had never hesitated: "This is the end of this."

He instructed Dan Aroney and Emma Thomas: "Don't spread it out, just let the three of us know."

Dan Arone nodded subconsciously, but Emma Thomas looked a little thought on his face. After a moment, he said, "Ronan should be notified of this matter."
