Chapter 774 Plant Construction Progress

Lingnan is like spring (it seems right to say that the four seasons are like summer), and it is not a random saying.

It was already January 15, 2008, but the construction site of Guanghui Auto is still in full swing. If it were placed in the Northeast, it would have been covered with heavy snow and we had to wait for the construction next year.

Since Guanghui Automobile's acquisition of Jaguar Land Rover was basically promoted by Guanghui Investment as the main body of negotiation, Pi Wei was able to return to Wuyang to continue to follow up on the construction of the factory.

"Mr. Jiang, let's first look at the floor plan of this factory. We will visit the engine factory and R&D building later," Pi Wei said, pointing to the model ahead.

After a year of hard work, Jaguar Land Rover finally took down. All the rest was to go through procedures and some handover work. Jiang Hui didn't need to correspond to these in person. So at this time, Jiang Hui came to Wuyang to see how the factory and R&D center of Guanghui Automobile's independent brand was built.

According to Jiang Hui's plan, the first V model will be launched at the latest at the beginning of next year, so that it can catch up with the explosion in the Tianchao automobile market!

The whole of 2009 and 2010 can be said to be the most prosperous time in the automotive industry. As long as it is a model, it seems that the sales are pretty good, especially the V-model, which is not easy to sell.

Jiang Hui really doesn’t want to miss this wave of benefits!

"Okay, let's follow your arrangements today," Jiang Hui said.

The entire Guanghui Automobile Industrial Park covers an area of more than 5,000 acres. If some parts companies that will be included in the future will be larger, the area will be larger.

Fortunately, Wuyang already has many automobile manufacturers such as Honda, Toyota and Nissan. Over the years, it has formed a relatively mature supply system. Basically, most of the parts can be found in the nearby areas.

This saves Guanghui Automobile a lot of trouble.

After more than a hundred years of development, the automobile industry has formed a clear division of labor. The mainframe factory is responsible for designing car models and producing some core components, and then most of the other parts are purchased from professional parts companies and assembled in the factory.

Component giants like Bosch, Denso, and Magna are actually not inferior to those of vehicle manufacturers at all. If they look at their annual turnover, they are even higher than those of some smaller OEMs.

Even the profit margins of others are higher than those of vehicle manufacturers, and their employees' salaries are higher than those of vehicle manufacturers. Without these parts companies, no OEM can produce a car in a complete and complete manner.

However, the relationship between OEM and component suppliers is also very complex, and the relationship between different OEM and suppliers is also different.

Generally speaking, the relationship between European and American OEMs and suppliers is more of a one-time cooperative relationship. This one-time cooperative relationship does not mean that if this model cooperates with you, it will not cooperate in the future.

Instead, the OEM will choose one or two companies to cooperate among many similar suppliers, and then in the next model, the best manufacturer will be selected based on cost competitiveness, and will not consider the past cooperation and friendship too much.

But relatively speaking, the Japanese and Korean system is not like this.

Generally speaking, the European and American supply system is easier to enter, but it is likely that it is just a one-day tour. If you make a model, you may be eliminated by your competitors.

For Japanese and Korean, it is relatively difficult to enter other people's supply system, but once you enter, most people will not kick you out, but will continue to give you some orders. Of course, the premise is that you must have cost competitiveness.

It’s just that the European and American groups cooperate with suppliers more based on the laws of the market economy, while the Japanese and Korean groups will also consider various factors such as cooperation and common development.

In fact, this is also related to the characteristics of their respective suppliers.

The suppliers of European and American OEMs are basically mainly European and American OEMs. These suppliers generally have no share relationship with the OEMs, and they generally do not have the label of "I am a general group," they are a popular group, etc.

However, the Japanese and Korean companies are different. The main parts companies are basically related to the shares between the OEMs. Generally, the OEMs will hold a certain proportion of the shares of the supplier. Relatively speaking, various suppliers will often be labeled as Toyota manufacturers, which is the label of Nissan manufacturers.

It's really hard to say who is better or worse.

"Mr. Jiang, located in the lower left corner of our park is our engine factory. This is the earliest completed. The equipment installation has been basically completed. Some production lines have begun to be debugged. It is expected that the first prototype will be offline when we come back after the New Year." Pi Wei began to introduce the factory situation of Guanghui Auto.

Because the land you can get at one time is large enough, Guanghui Auto has built all the engine factory, R&D factory, and the stamping, welding, painting, assembly and other workshops of the automobile, which has also improved everyone's work efficiency.

For example, designers sometimes often need to hold meetings with workshops, procurement, sales and other personnel to integrate some information, and they need to go to the scene frequently when trying to make a car.

If the office space of the R&D center, production factory and management department is not in the same area, the waste of time in the middle is actually very high!

"According to our plan, we will first build a production line of 300,000 engines, and form a capacity of 500,000 next year. At present, the recruitment of personnel is also being carried out in full swing. For this reason, we have specially built a cultural and sports center next to the engine factory. The first and second floors are sports venues, and can be converted into lobbies when necessary, and various training rooms are above the third floor," Pi Wei continued to introduce.

"After the engine is offline, will it be moved directly to the assembly workshop with the transmission chain, or do it need to be transported by a trolley?" Jiang Hui asked.

"Our engine factory is next to the vehicle inspection department, and next to it is the assembly workshop. We have already involved the transmission channel in advance in the middle. After the engine is offline, it can be directly transferred to the assembly. Engine factory, vehicle inspection department, assembly workshop, coating workshop, welding workshop, stamping workshop, these workshops can basically be stringed into a line according to the front and back of the process to ensure that our production layout is in the most reasonable state," Pi Wei said constantly while pointing to the model.

"Well, this layout must be planned well. It is unrealistic to modify the equipment after it is entered." Although Jiang Hui is not proficient in automobile production, he used to be an intern in the automobile factory when he was in a university internship, and he was still quite clear about general basic knowledge.

The automotive industry is a capital- and technology-intensive enterprise. If you enter rashly without sufficient understanding, it will easily lead to bloody heads and tuition fees will be too expensive!
