Weeks after the hearing, the committee issued its conclusion:

Existing evidence shows that Natan Kudaev has absolutely no contact with the CIA and has not participated in any espionage activities.

This conclusion, and all the evidence, is included in a document.

The committee's hearings and conclusions were later published and submitted to the Soviet Supreme Procuratorate for preparation.

In addition to these public efforts in the name of Kudaev, some private efforts are also underway.

For example, the State Council system arranged a meeting with Soviet officials to discuss, made diplomatic suggestions, and recommended exchange of prisoners, and did not make any substantial progress.

But bad news came.

The Soviet authorities suddenly announced that they would be tried for Anatoly Kudaev's major treason in the near future.

The specific crime was: between 1970 and 1972, the defendant provided state secrets to "Western diplomats, intelligence personnel, and a foreign military intelligence agency spy in Moscow who was dressed in a journalist's garment."

This is a charge that can be directly sentenced to death.

It was like a basin of cold water pouring on Edward's forehead.

In fact, after taking over this case, Edward's idea was very clear - first, he had to save his life. To be honest, this is not too difficult. As long as the highest authorities in Moscow are not crazy, it is unlikely that he will be sentenced to death.

A few hours later, the judge returned to the court and officially announced that this court found that all criminal charges against Kudaev were established, and Kudaev was sentenced to 13 years in prison.
