537 Naval Battle (2)

At 11:34, Akinfeyev, who had been struggling for 20 minutes under the heavy artillery fire of British battlecruisers, was delighted to see Samekov's battlecruiser formation. In order not to hinder his own battle patrol shooting, he immediately directed his light cruiser to cut between the Hindenburg and the Deflinger.

Samekov, located on the Hindenburg, praised Akinfeyev's actions and wrote in his post-war report: "His maneuvering actions are simply a textbook example! After confirming that our army's large warships were advancing towards the enemy, he cleverly avoided the enemy's 381mm heavy artillery firepower and successfully retreated his warship from the line of fire!"

From 11:35 to 45, the firefighting was temporarily quelled, and both sides were regrouping and preparing for the next round of decisive battle. Samekov formed a front with his battleship cruiser and light cruiser, while the British Royal Navy Rear Clyde on the opposite side was still anxiously waiting for the Tiger to follow.

So where did the Tiger go? The poor Tiger had a problem with the boiler during the previous acceleration maneuver. A steam pipeline suddenly exploded, causing her speed to fall instantly. Not to mention keeping up with the 30 knots of the two heroes, it would be difficult to maintain a speed of 20 knots.

While the Reputation and Counterattack blasted Cologne, the Tiger, which was far behind, was fighting the old steam pipeline, so much so that the captain of the ship, Navy Colonel Marin, had to apologize to Major General Clyde's generation: "I am sorry for the current delay, but I promise you that I will return to the formation soon!"

Marin was a person who said that, and under his personal supervision, the mechanic began to work hard to repair. At 11:45, the maximum speed was finally restored to 25 knots. Of course, when the battle between the battle patrols was about to begin, the Tiger could not catch up for the time being.

Clyde also knew that he could only rely on the Reputation and Counterattack for a while. As soon as he discovered the enemy's battle patrol, he began to adjust the route, dial the route northward, and took advantage of his speed to grab the T-head.

In other words, when the battle started again, the Reputation and Counterattack could finally exert all their firepower, and on the sea 20 kilometers away, the Hindenburg was still struggling hard.

There is no way, the German Battle Tour has always lagged behind the British Battle Tour in terms of speed, and its reputation and counterattack can reach nearly 32 kilometers, while Hindenburg has to survive for 27 kilometers. So when it comes to grab positions, Samekov is really not Clyde's opponent.

At 11:46, the six 381mm main guns of the Reputation were fired again. The first row of 871 kilograms of armor-piercing projectiles quickly flew 23,734 yards away and fell on the sea on the starboard side of the Hindenburg. The Counterattack, which followed the Reputation, also locked the Hindenburg, but in the last minute before the fire, the captain of the ship, Colonel Demps, ordered the gun to divert the target. He aimed at the Deflinger who was behind the position. Soon, the six giant guns of the Reputation were also put into fire, and a huge roar echoed between the sea and the sky, pushing the naval battle to **!

The British were the first to take the lead, and Samekov was not willing to be outdone. About four minutes later, he counterattacked the British's provocation at a distance of more than 20 kilometers, and gave a 405-kilogram shell to his opponent.

De Fringer, who was following Hindenburg, also quickly began to shell the shell, followed by Cedritz, but Cedritz fell a little further. The range of her main gun could not keep up with it, and the shooting effect was quite appropriate. Basically, she could only use it as a firecracker, at most it was a powerful force. As for the Moltke, she could only stare at it. Who asked her to equip her with a smaller 280mm main gun, which was even more inaccessible.

Of course, when the artillery battle just started, there was not much to say. Both sides were engaged in artillery battles at the limit of the artillery range, and the speed of both sides was quite amazing. Under this situation, there was no way to talk about the hit rate. The more you fire the artillery is to strengthen the momentum.

The only thing that can be discussed during this period is the issue of firepower distribution. Because the distance is long, both sides participating in the war actually only have two warships put into battle, so Sameikov's numerical advantage cannot be used. In terms of the number of artillery, the British were 12 to 16, and the disadvantage was not big. Moreover, after counting the caliber advantage of the 381mm main gun, the British probably still had an advantage in the amount of firepower throwing per unit time.

In particular, it should be noted that the British Battle Tour has an advantage of more than 5 knots due to its absolute speed advantage (31 knots vs. 26 knots). This advantage allows Clyde to calmly choose to fight or retreat, and Clyde easily takes the initiative!

With both speed and firepower, the Counterattack chose to attack DeFringel, which is a bit strange. It is true that from the perspective of normal firepower distribution on the battle line, the ship captain Demps's choice was not wrong. It should suppress the No. 2 ship that can fire in the enemy battle line.

But it must also be seen that De Fringer fired and fired, almost like firecrackers. Such an attack does not pose a threat to the Reputation and the Counterattack. Since it can be ignored, Demps should shoot at the Hindenburg with the flagship, so that he can concentrate his firepower on two or one. If he can sink or severely damage the Hindenburg, the combat situation behind the British will be much easier!

Of course, there is also a possibility that Demps attacked the Deflinger based on his experience in the Jutland Naval Battle. Because the experience in the Jutland Naval Battle shows that multiple warships fire at the same target will cause difficulties in observing the bounce point and controlling the firepower. The conservative Demps is likely to be concerned about this, and the two German battle patrols that are approaching cannot be ignored, so he chose a more traditional firepower distribution plan for firing at the corresponding targets in the enemy battleship.

After the long-distance artillery battle between the two sides began, Samekov's fleet fired very calmly and was not slow. He carefully observed and calculated the points of each shell, and then corrected the elements and fired.

Some remote shells fell into the formation of British light cruisers, and the Calypso and Caradoc were both scratched by shrapnel, and the Hindenburg even once formed a cross-fire at the Calypso!

At that time, the captain of the calypso was scared and sweated in a cold sweat. He wrote in the navigation log: "When he encountered the second cross-fire, the two shells were only 10 yards (9 meters) apart, and they hit our ship directly. One of the shells scratched the pillar of the rear mast signal light..."

It is completely different from the Russians' slowness. The British shooting can be described as fanaticism. In the main turret of the Counterattack, the gunners were sweating profusely and desperately loading fire. Everyone was in a state of excitement, and the fiery firepower also posed an increasingly threatening threat to the opponent. Samekov described the shelling effect of the British ship in his post-war report: "The shooting of enemy ships is extremely small and increasingly dense!"

While the main battleships on both sides were having a lot of fun fighting, the light cruiser formations on both sides, who were unwilling to be lonely, also joined the battle again. At 11:55, the Cologne fired three rounds of volleys at the counterattack. Although its 150mm shells could not penetrate the counterattack armor even at a distance of more than ten kilometers, Akinfeyev hoped that doing so would interfere with the British's shooting.

At 11:58, according to Clyde's order, the British light cruisers also began to fight back at Akinfeyev, and immediately the avant-garde cruiser formations on both sides started to squash again. It was so lively!

At this time, the Tiger, who had been embarrassed and late, finally arrived at the battlefield. At this time, Clyde breathed a sigh of relief. The previous two and four did put a lot of pressure on him, and the opponent's firepower was too strong. He once formed a cross-fire on the counterattack.

Although the power of the 305mm main gun is much smaller than that of the 381mm giant cannon, it is relatively small. For the reputation and counterattack number with light armor (main armor of 152mm), the 405kg shell can also be used to instantly defeat them.

After the Tiger joined the battlefield, the enemy's firepower was dispersed, which was much better than when the Hindenburg, Defringer and Seedritz beat up his two warships together. The good news for the British was the bad news for the Russians. Samekov was happily "beating" his opponents, and he had to redistribute his firepower as soon as possible, but with the Tiger's appearance, he had to redistribute his firepower.

"Hindenburg, De Fringer continues to shoot the enemy's pilot ships and strive to achieve results as soon as possible! Seedritz shoots the enemy's second ship, and Moltke is responsible for the third ship!"

It can be seen that Samekov still wants to solve the Reputation Name as soon as possible. As long as the Reputation Name is destroyed, the remaining two enemy battle patrols will not be his opponents at all! It should be said that this judgment is very accurate, and the subsequent combat process fully proves Samekov's judgment, but the result is not completely correct.

After 20 minutes of the seven battleships, the decisive moment of this naval battle came. Clyde noticed that from 12:00 to 5:00, the Deflinger made a cross-fire on his flagship, and by 12:00 to 9:00, another round of side volleys was already close!

At that time, a 305mm armor-piercing projectile lifted a huge 50-meter-high water column near the bow of the Reputation ship, and the warship's front deck was completely soaked in sea water. Clyde quickly ordered the warship to turn right 20 degrees, and accelerated from the 21 knots to 30 knots in order to maintain the shelling hit rate, so as to quickly escape from this deadly position that had been locked by the enemy.

At this time, Reputation quickly accelerated its steering. Because the ship's shooting commander could not aim when the warship's rudder amplitude exceeded 10 degrees, Reputation had to temporarily stop shooting. At that time, Cologne and Emden noticed the abnormality of Reputation, and almost simultaneously reported to the flagship Hindenburg: "The enemy's forward guide ship has deviated from the battle line."

In fact, there is no need to remind the Cologne and Emden, Samekov naturally saw it, but he did not have much solution for this rapid turn target. He could only order the gunman to quickly solve the fire control and try to obtain new shooting elements as soon as possible.

For the Hindenburg gunman, this was a very painful job. He had finally locked his opponent and was ready to hit the target steadily. Who thought that the enemy was more slippery than a mouse, and the wind twitched when he saw something wrong. How could it be that simple to re-solve? It was so urgent. In desperation, he could only use his experience to modify it and then pass the so-called "new" shooting elements to the turrets.

Naturally, such adjustments will definitely not be too effective. To be honest, off-targets are completely inevitable. But sometimes even luck cannot be blocked. Just such an unsure of a volley shot, the results of the battle were achieved!

Just as the Reputation was completed, a 305mm shell hit the deck near the chimney in the back, and exploded and teared open a five-meter-square hole. The warhead continued to penetrate the second deck and stayed in the soldier's compartment.

It should be said that this hit was not fatal, but the explosion caused a fire. The middle of the hull of Reputation was suddenly shrouded in strong flames. Suffocating smoke and dust rushed into the boiler bay under the deck from the ventilation duct, forcing some engine room personnel to evacuate. The four-seat boiler immediately declared a strike. Reputation's speed quickly dropped from 28 knots before the bombing to 18 knots.

Seeing that the flagship was shot slowed down, the counterattack quickly adjusted the route and continued to shoot against the Defringer. However, like the previous twenty minutes, the results were still not achieved.

The situation was quite bad for Clyde. He was at a disadvantage in three or four, but now the flagship is still half over. Moreover, the Reputation, which has lost its speed, is obviously not suitable to continue to stay on the battlefield. If one is not done well, he will be dumplings by the enemy. Moreover, this is not safe for the Counterattack and the Tiger. The two ships cannot withstand the opponent's beating.

In that moment, Clyde made up his mind to withdraw! He immediately ordered the Reputation to start a new round of steering and ordered the light cruiser formation to start releasing smoke.

The battle was about 12:15. The British were thrust into the wind, which was really not good news for Samekov. After finally getting a shot, he wanted to beat the dog in the water. But the British actually ran away, and he ran so frankly and didn't give him any chance.

Samekov wanted to chase, but under the cover of the counterattack and the Tiger, he did not dare to make a blind move. As a result, after a round of emergency repairs, the Reputation Office quickly recovered to around 25 knots. Although this speed could not get rid of Samekov, it could not help him get closer.

Just chased and fled. After half an hour, the reputation had already extinguished the flames and resurrected with full blood. Suddenly, the speed increased again. After speeding up again, Samekov had no hope of catching up.

Logically speaking, Sameikov should give up at this time, but the somewhat stubborn Rear Admiral still buried his head in pursuit. After ten minutes, the situation changed again. The British who had run away with his tail before suddenly turned around again. The Reputation and the Counterattack suddenly killed a retaliation!

This scene made Sameikov overjoyed and couldn't help but mutter in his heart: "It turns out that those who have ambition have accomplished their work!"

The excited Samekov was about to roll up his sleeves and fight a big fight, preparing to beat the British. But is there really such a good thing? The British are not stupid, they can run away, so why should they turn around and continue fighting?

I'm afraid there is only one possibility, that is, Clyde has received support, and only after receiving strong assistance can he have the courage to turn back and face it!

Indeed, Clyde has obtained strong aid, not an ordinary strong! If Sameikov can fly into the sky, he can see five battleships coming from behind the Reputation!

These five are not ordinary battleships. In World War I, they are the strongest comprehensive battleships, which are Queen Elizabeth-class. In the Battle of Jutland, Betty once faced the entire high seas fleet with four queens. Although he was beaten up badly, he was able to escape unscathed! This fully demonstrates the comprehensive strength of the queen!

Let me put it this way, before the Seven Greats entered service, the strongest battleship was the Queen (Bavarian combat power was similar to that of the Queen, but unfortunately it sank). The five queens could barely reach 25 knots in speed, and in that era it could be regarded as fast battleships, at least it could keep up with the formation of the Battle Patrol.

So why did these five queens appear here? Is Jackson really planning to make a desperate bet?

On the contrary, Jackson was preparing to run away. At 11:30, he was hit by Sukhoi's second air strike. Although this air strike failed to cause any damage to him, it completely scared the Navy marshal.

Soon he ordered the fleet to turn to retreat, but it was fine for him to retreat, but the battle patrol formation that had been reconnaissanced before had not come back yet. When contacting Clyde, he heard that this person was in a bad situation. After the enemy was chasing him behind him, he could not escape. Jackson immediately sent the queen out. Compared with other battleships in the formation with speeds below 21 knots, the queen-class was a little speed, and at least could cooperate with the battle patrol formation. Moreover, the queen-class had withstood the test of Jutland, and the entire high seas fleet could retreat, and today he should be able to retreat unscathed.

Indeed, if Sukhoi's air force could not achieve the high level of the first wave of air strikes, then Basilev's fleet would really not be able to do anything to five queens. Just talking about the combat effectiveness of a single ship, Bavaria can challenge the queen, and Bavaria has only two, and the speed is even slower. It can be said that even if the queen can't withstand the number of people in the naval battle, she can still run away.

Of course, Sameikov didn't know that the five queens were following the Reputation, otherwise this guy would have scared his pants, and he might have turned around and fled. Fortunately, he didn't know, which allowed the largest naval battle after Jutland to continue, giving the strongest battleships in Britain and Germany a chance to face the head-on!

At 12:30, just as Hindenburg was exchanging shells with the Counterattack, five queens suddenly appeared on the battlefield, using one word to describe it as a divine weapon falling from the sky. Anyway, Samekov was scared out of his snot at that time.

It’s not that Samekov recognized the queen level, but was frightened by the number of enemies. Five big guys suddenly appeared. Did I meet the enemy’s main force? (To be continued, please search for Astronomy, novels are better, updated and faster!
