473 Decisive Battle (2)

Gerchek's First Division conducted an unprecedented fire reconnaissance according to Porsky's order... The division commander, who had just been scolded by Porsky for the pontoon bridge incident, showed his unique skills under tremendous pressure and devoted himself to two regiments in one breath to conduct the so-called fire reconnaissance.

The 100th Regiment was responsible for the main attack, and the 101st Regiment was cooperated from the side. Except for the 102nd Rest in place, which had suffered a certain loss in the previous battle, Gerchek threw all the troops he could invest in.

Rather than saying that this was a fire reconnaissance, it was a sudden attack. For the officers and soldiers of the 1st Regiment of the 1st Cavalry Division of the East Prussian People's Liberation Army who had just crossed the Buge River and were building a forward position near the river beach, the battle broke out a little suddenly.

Because the Poles had not shown any intention of fighting before, they gave up the pontoon bridge, and then watched them build the bridgehead until they consolidated their positions. When they thought the Poles were cowards and thought they could take a breath, the battle suddenly started.

The 1st Company of the 1st Battalion, the 1st Battalion of the 1st Regiment, which was responsible for the warning on the front line, was first attacked by the Poles. First, a burst of artillery fire broke out. The Poles fired hundreds of shells in one breath, exploding the 1st Company's position.

Most of the officers and soldiers of the 1st Company were not prepared and lost nearly one-third of their brothers under the attack of artillery fire. Just as the officers and soldiers of the 1st Company hurriedly entered the fox pits and trenches to avoid artillery attacks, the main battalion of the 100th Regiment directly began to charge.

A whole battalion drowned the 1st Company in one breath. The 1st Company, who was in a hurry, almost made symbolic resistance and was defeated. When the company withdrew from the main position of the battalion, half of the casualties were already injured!

"What kind of trash battle are you fighting?"

The cowardly performance of the 1st Company made the 1st regiment commander very annoyed. The superior told him three times that he must pay attention to the next battle and was not prepared to be careless and underestimate the enemy. But now, the sharp knife company of his main battalion suffered half of casualties in the blink of an eye because of carelessness. Isn’t this giving him eye drops or slapping him in the face?

"Counterattack! Take back the position immediately!" The 1st regiment commander made a decision immediately.

This guy is also very decisive and said that he is counterattacking immediately, and he is particularly fierce when fighting back.

When the Poles were preparing to continue in-depth fire reconnaissance and prepare to take the opportunity to expand the results of the battle, they hit the 1st regiment head-on and counterattack. On the empty river beach, the Poles hit the Jewish cavalry head-on. In the blink of an eye, the two sides were entangled together, and the bloody hand-to-hand combat began.

It should be said that the terrain is not very beneficial to both sides. For the Jewish cavalry, the soft beach cannot fully exert the impact of the cavalry, which has led to a significant decrease in the power of their assault; while for the Poles, there is almost no shelter on the empty river beach. They can only use their flesh and blood to fight the enemy cavalry riding on tall horses and wielding their glittering sabers.

The final result was that the Jewish cavalry was superior in skill and used only one charge. The Polish troops were cut into pieces. Then the spinning sabers kept bleeding the Poles. The troops that had just defeated the 1st Company and had no time to carefully savor the taste of victory collapsed in an instant.

"Damn it!" This time it was the Polish commander who cursed, "Let the Second Battalion go to pick up the First Battalion and let the Third Battalion be ready for combat!"

Judging from the words of this regiment commander, he had no intention of stopping. He was preparing to compete with the first cavalry on the river beach.

On the following night, the two sides fought back and forth, and fought repeatedly around the positions on the river beach. Both sides continued to invest large troop forces, from small fights at the company level to the entire battalion, and repeated tug-of-wars of the entire regiment.

After a night of fierce fighting, neither side got any advantage. The Jewish cavalry still firmly controlled the bridgehead on the river beach and protected the safety of the pontoon bridge. However, in the same way, they failed to develop rapidly in depth according to Ubolevich's order. In short, the two sides fought a draw.

After dawn, the battle suddenly stopped like a sudden outbreak before. The Poles, who had been very excited and were ready to do everything, suddenly became honest again. They suddenly broke away from contact with the Jews and retracted their frontier positions in the suburbs of Maukinia.

The reason is simple. Porsky had obtained a report on fire reconnaissance. When he learned that there was at least one cavalry regiment on the river beach, and there was an enemy cavalry regiment and an infantry regiment across the river, he knew that the worst happened.

"It was initially discovered that the enemy I faced was at least one cavalry division, and after the enemy, I also found that there were at least two enemy division numbers. From this, it was estimated that this was definitely the main force of the enemy!"

At the end of this report, Porsky made a sincere request to Pisusky: "The enemy has a large number of troops, and with the combat power of our First Army, it may not last long. Forget your superior to go north to reinforce as soon as possible, and has achieved the goal of the battle."

When Bissusky received this report, he was still a little suspicious. Although Porsky was very confident, he still had doubts. Can he wait and take a look? What if this is still a Jewish trick?

This was a whole morning. In addition to ordering Porsky to continue to strengthen reconnaissance and ready for battle, his own troops were still sitting in Warsaw City.

It was not until noon that when Polsky told him that two Jews had crossed the Bug River and two were crossing the river that he took action.

"The 11th Division, 12th Division and the 202nd Mixed Brigade immediately follow the railway line north and must arrive in Vaukhuv before 5 pm tomorrow."

Bisuski put all the troops he could take out in one breath, which looked a bit like a storm. However, his next sentence revealed his essence: "You must be vigilant during the march, and you must do a good job of reconnaissance, and you must not go on a blind basis!"

Well, the last order made the commander of the 11th Division, the 12th Division and the brigade commander of the 202 Mixed Brigade very confused. You were deadly ordered to arrive at Vokhuf at 5 pm tomorrow, but then said that you should be careful not to advance. That thing. Are you asking us to rush on the road? Or are you asking us to be careful and cautious?

In short, these three people are very contradictory. I don’t know how to interpret Bissusky’s orders. So the three of them came to three different conclusions. The 11th Division believed that soldiers were the most important, and saving lives was like putting out a fire, so they rushed quickly; the 12th Division felt that if the President just wanted to emphasize speed, then the words behind would not be mentioned at all. Since it was mentioned, it would definitely make sense. Then the words behind were the focus, so you have to hurry on the road, but be sure to be the first; as for the miscellaneous 202 Mixed Brigade, they had the idea of fearing the enemy, and after Bissusky reminded him, they were even more timid.

In the words of the brigade commander Daminsky, "We are a miscellaneous brand, there is no need to steal the limelight from the regular army, right? Besides, we rushed to Warsaw all the way, and we didn't have time to take a breath, so there was so much energy to make a rush... It's great to be slow, just crane the tail of the crane honestly!"

So these three divisions left Warsaw, which was fast and slow, showing the 11th Division as the head of the 12th Division. In 202, the last word-long snake formation was dropped. In other words, when the 11th Division collided with Li Xiaofeng and Triandafilov's blocking troops at Vovoming, the gap in strength between the two sides was not big. The Poles had no advantage at all.

"There are enemies?"

Rodwick, the commander of the 11th Division, was a little surprised. According to the information given to him by Pisusky, the main force of the Jews should be in Maukinia, where did the Jews appear?

"How many enemies are there?" Rodwick asked quickly.

In his opinion, if the enemy was not large, it would be either a small group of Jewish troops or simply a blocking force left by the Jews. But his subordinates brought him a shocking news:

"The enemy must have exceeded two divisions. For the information provided by the Vovoming refugees, there are at least three brigades on the opposite side!"

“Three brigades?”

Rodwick was startled. According to information, Jewish brigades generally had five to six thousand people, and the number was even seven to eight thousand, which was almost equivalent to the division of the Polish National Defense Forces. Three brigades could at least match his three divisions. If Vovoming really had so many enemies, then what would it be that the enemy's main force?

Rodwick was nervous, and he immediately notified Bisuski of the news, and he had to consider his troops. As mentioned earlier, his troops rushed to the front and set a certain distance from the 12th Division and the 202 mixed brigade behind. This gave Rodwick a very dangerous illusion. He felt that he was too prominent and was likely to be made by the enemy!

"His Excellency President, I strongly request that the advancement towards Wokhuv be suspended... If our troops continue to move forward, they are likely to be surrounded by Jewish bandits!"

When he received a telegram from Rodwick, Bisusky was also confused. Porsky said that the main force of the Jews was in Maukinia, but Rodwick said that he had met the main force of the Jews in Vovoming. Which side of the information is accurate? There can't be two main force of the Jews, right?

After some thought, Bisusky believed that there must be a lie between Rodwick and Porsky. So his decision was to ask Porsky to conduct fire reconnaissance again, and ordered Rodwick not to retreat, and immediately launch an attack on the enemy in front of him, and to find out the reality of the enemy as soon as possible!

Rodwick didn't like this order. He always felt that it was Bissuski who wanted to use his troops to detect mines. If he met the main Jewish force, his less than 9,000 troops wouldn't he beating a dog?

However, Bissusky's orders could not be disobeyed, so Rodwick adopted a workaround. On the one hand, he ordered the main force of the division to stop advancing, and on the other hand, he organized a small group of troops to conduct fire reconnaissance.

What was the result of fire reconnaissance? It should be said that Rodwick was even more frightened because he threw these small reconnaissance units into the sea, like stones thrown into the sea, and even a wave could not churn, it would disappear.

According to the lucky ones who escaped by chance, "The enemy's firepower is quite fierce, with no less than a hundred heavy machine guns, and there are even more light machine guns. The brothers were swallowed up by their firepower net in an instant!"

"Where is the cannon?" Rodwick was most concerned about this. If the enemy had heavy cannons, it was definitely the enemy's main force that had not run away.

"The enemy has quite a lot of artillery, which can pour dozens of shells into us every minute, and also has great power heavy artillery... Division Commander, please report to the above quickly. We can't continue to rush hard. Otherwise, there will be no return!"

The scouts said that Rodwick was half-hearted. Hundreds of heavy machine guns, light machine guns and heavy artillery that could not count, how could he fire? Isn’t this a scam!

So what is going on? Let's talk about it one by one. It is true that there are three brigades in Vovoming, but the appearance of these numbers does not mean that these troops are all in Vovoming.

Li Xiaofeng had only one brigade in his hands, that was his Gruu, and the other two brigades were all pretentious. Let's put it this way, most of the remaining two brigades were taken away by Ubolevich. Only one or two battalions of troops were left for Li Xiaofeng. In other words, except for Gruu, Li Xiaofeng could only gather one regiment.

As for weapons, I have to say that Gruu's equipment is so good. The whole brigade uses fully automatic weapons, and its firepower is not strong? As for the heavy artillery, it was because the Poles were stunned. The so-called large-caliber heavy artillery was just a 160mm mortar battalion.

Unfortunately, Bisuski didn't know the real situation. Although he was still half-believing and half-doubted about Rodwick's report, it also made him misjudgment. He began to think hard and began to wonder how many troops the Jews had. Could it be that the Jews fired smoke bombs again? In fact, their troops were far more than 100,000?

When he thought of this possibility, Bisusky became restless, wondering whether he should stick to his original combat plan or simply give up the battle and ordered Polsky to retreat to Biavestok to preserve his strength. When his godfather gets the Germans, he will rely on his godfather's power to find trouble for the Jews?

During those one or two hours, Bisuski kept swaying left and right, and could not make up his mind. Since he, the president, was undecided, the people below naturally began to watch. Rodwick's 11th Division quietly retreated five kilometers and broke away from contact with Li Xiaofeng; after receiving the news, the 12th Division immediately stepped on the brakes and began to watch; as for the 202 Mixed Brigade, the brigade was the most slippery, and when he saw that the situation was not good, he retreated back to Warsaw.

In other words, when the decisive battle in Ukinia had begun, Pisusky's reinforcements had been grinding foreign workers for a whole day. Especially after nightfall, the group of people were even more reluctant to move, because the Jews were good at night fighting, so they could not take risks!

But that night, the war in Ukinia in Ukinia began in full swing. Ubolevic quickly sent the two divisions to the river during the day, firmly controlled the near the river beach, and established a solid bridgehead.

After nightfall, Porsky seemed to notice that the situation was not good. On the one hand, he asked Bisusky for advice, hoping that the president would give him an explanation immediately, whether to leave or stay, he would give a conclusion. On the other hand, he also harassed Ubolevic as much as possible and launched a wave of attacks after wave.

Larries, a Jewish veteran who participated in that battle, recalled: "After night, the enemy's activities became more and more frequent. They first harassed us with small groups of troops. After a few hours, they suddenly joined the entire battalion and the regiment to attack... I remember that gunfire that night, especially after the enemy launched a strong attack, not only did gunfires, but artillery of various caliber also began to roar..."

I have to say that Polsky chose the wrong opponent. He used artillery fire to suppress Mironov on the river beach and bullied Lao Mi fiercely. At that time, Mironov had almost no power to fight back. He had no many artillery fires and had a small number of small-caliber mortars that could not do anything to the Poles' field guns and mountain guns.

Porsky probably felt that all the Jewish troops lacked heavy firepower, so he used the same trick again. According to his idea: use artillery to press the enemy on the beach to prevent the enemy from developing in depth, and gain a little more time.

As I said just now, Polsky chose the wrong opponent. Ubolevic was not Mironov who made a light rush. His artillery was still relatively powerful. He had a large number of rocket launchers, but he was not afraid of artillery battles at all.

So when the Poles' artillery had just begun to speak, the Jewish rocket launchers gave them a profound lesson. In the blink of an eye, a 48 rocket launcher of the Katyusha rocket launcher regiment poured more than 700 shells into the Poles.

In Laris' words: "In the blink of an eye, it was dawn! A sea of fire appeared in front of us, and the violent explosion lasted for several minutes. When the battlefield calmed down, there was only a scorched earth ahead of us... All the Poles who were excited to launch the charge disappeared, not even a single slag left!"

This violent shelling left an unforgettable impression on Porsky. In this shelling, his two infantry battalions were basically evaporated, and only one or two of them could leave the scorched earth alive. Even the bystanders were frightened. They refused to obey the orders of their superiors and continued to charge, with the reason: "I don't want to be evaporated by the steel rain!"

In fact, Porsky should be glad that he should be glad that Li Xiaofeng just let Katyusha be born in advance. I have to say that Katyusha's range is a bit insufficient. If it were replaced with a real BM21 hail, it would not be the charge soldiers who enjoyed the bomb rain, but Porsky's artillery.

Imagine if Porsky's artillery was wiped out the next day after the war began, how else would he fight?

However, this day was not completely bad news for Polsky. At dawn, just when he was frightened by the Jewish artillery fire, Pisusky's decision finally came: "Persevere in Maukinia, I will soon go to encircle the main force of the Jewish bandits!" (To be continued...)
