211 The Devil's Conceived (Part 2)

Judging from the map, Alexeyev's statement seems to make sense. Tharizin is located at the convergence point of the Volga River and the Don River, behind Luhansk, and heading south to the Krim Peninsula. It can communicate with the Caspian Sea, the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea. Its strategic location is very important and it is also a very important food base.

If we can take this place, we can use the southeastern Ukraine and the Krim Peninsula as bases, and then we can go north along the Volga River and the Don River, and the troops can point directly to Moscow. Even if we cannot make progress in the direction of Moscow, we can communicate with the northeastern direction and contact Ufa. Anyway, as long as we have some military knowledge, we know that seizing Chalizin is indeed a good move.

Whether it was Kornilov, Denikin and Flanger, who were sitting in this tent, were not considered military strategists, they still understood the most basic military common sense. So they all agreed that it was indeed a good idea to seize Chalizin.

But the problem is that a good idea does not mean that it can be realized. The difference between a military strategist and an ordinary soldier is that he can turn decay into magic. But unfortunately, these people do not have such qualities. If the soldiers are abundant and strong, they will be sure to take Chalijin. However, now, when people are trapped and lack morale, they are really unsure of going to Chalijin.

Denikin first said: "It is a good idea to take down Chalizin, but the problem is that even with General Flanger's support, even if the main attention of the Bolsheviks is attracted by the Czech Legion, we cannot fully guarantee that we can take down Chalizin with our current strength."

After a little pause, Denikin said seriously: "I must remind you that this is adventure, or gambling. If you fail, the consequences will be unimaginable!"

Is Alexeyev clear about this? As a general and a senior officer, he knew this very well. Using the existing forces of Kornilov and Flanger to attack Charizin is indeed a risk. The risk is still very high!

In that case, why did he incite this plan? The reason is simple, political needs. Since the Bolsheviks reached the Brest contract with the Germans, the situation in Russia seems to be clearer - as Lenin said, a civil war is inevitable!

If the Bolsheviks can win another battle and destroy the opposition at home, then Russia's direction in the next half century will be basically clear. Needless to say, the Communist Party will create a world. On the contrary, if the opposition in Russia successfully rebelled and defeated the Bolsheviks, then Russia may return to old order, which is like the state after the victory of the February Revolution, and continues to be in chaos. It will even show a state of separatism among heroes and warlords.

Of course, for Alexeyev and others, such chaos is acceptable. At least the game returns to the rules they set. Even if it is chaos, it is a chaos of democracy, noble chaos, and moral chaos. It is ten thousand times stronger than the dark and brutal "order" of the Bolsheviks.

It can be imagined that in such a chaotic situation, it is full of opportunities for the ambitious people. No matter what Russia turns out to be, or even split into dozens of dollars, as long as its own interests are guaranteed, that is the truth.

This is not a joke at all. In history, in the Russian Civil War, the White Army's heads and minds were not united at all. Let alone harmony. For example, the two people sitting in this tent, Denikin and Flanger, as the main generals of the White Army, the conflict between these two later became very sharp and the struggle was fierce. In the end, Flanger was driven out of Russia by Denikin.

Others, there are many disputes between the Constitutional Democratic Party and the Social Revolutionary Party, and the conflicts between political leaders and warlords who are self-respecting. It can be said that from the beginning, these people were not one mind, and they never thought of going in one direction. As long as conditions allow, these goods will fight each other and compete for power and profit.

In fact, after the victory of the February Revolution, this phenomenon was shown. Conflicts and disputes between the Social Revolutionary Party and the Constitutional Democratic Party were constantly changing. The struggle between the two originally most powerful parties constantly weakened their power. Even without the Bolsheviks, these two parties would sooner or later fight to the death.

In a sense, the internal struggle between the White Army leaders also indirectly helped the Bolsheviks. As the Bolsheviks completely controlled the Russian industrial core, as the Red Army was constantly armed, internal struggles continued and could only rely on foreign relief, the failure was naturally inevitable.

Of course, these words are a bit too far. Anyway, I just need to understand one thing. The White Army is not at all at peace. All ambitious people have their own plans and they can't even twist them. They all think about calculating the other party to get a bargain.

The current situation is that Alexeyev is preparing to plot against Kornilov, and the Social Revolutionary Party he represents has indeed reached contact with the Allies Group and is indeed ready to launch a rebellion.

But there is a small problem. The relationship between the Social Revolutionary Party and the military is very average. Many old-school officers believe that it was the Social Revolutionary Party’s unrest in July to October last year that led to the Bolsheviks coming to power. The old officers did not have much favoritism for these self-proclaimed socialists. A large number of officers who were waiting and watching wanted a truly honest and reliable soldier to lead them, and they were not particularly interested in the Social Revolutionary Party.

Not only are the old military officers in Russia, but the Allies have a bad impression of the Social Revolutionary Party. In fact, the Allies have no particularly good impression of the Russian political parties. Before the victory of the February Revolution, Britain and France were not satisfied with the far-right Cadets, thinking that they were too radical and were even willing to deal with them. This is a best example.

In fact, after the victory of the February Revolution in Russia, although Britain and France had to deal with them before, they did not like the Cadet Party, they had to actively win over them. However, from the beginning, the British and French were prepared for both.

On the one hand, they have strengthened their efforts to oppose the Constitutional Democratic Party and the Social Revolutionary Party. On the other hand, they are also actively liaisoning the military forces in Russia and attracting a large number of senior officers. Once the time is ripe, they will use the military force to replace the Constitutional Democratic Party and the Social Revolutionary Party.

The most obvious example of this is Kornilov. At one time, this product won the full favor of Britain, France and the United States. The heads of the three countries kept waving flags and shouting for this product, but they almost didn't say that they wanted this guy to come forward to form a cabinet.

In the September incident, the big reason why Kornilov dared to launch a coup so boldly was the support and indulgence of the Allies. Unfortunately, this product was so powerful and it was really unpopular. His hasty rebellion gave the Bolsheviks a chance to make a comeback. After defeating him, the situation in Russia began to become clear.

And now, although Kornilov's situation is very bad, the Allies still have expectations for this product and trust him more. This has led to the fact that the Social Revolutionary Party and the Cadets must take on the banner of anti-Bolsheviks and use the name of this product.

However, this name is not so easy to borrow. Anyway, whether it is the Social Revolutionary Party or the Cadet Party, they are still scared of Kornilov's anti-bone style. They only plan to use this guy, but they don't want him to make a comeback.

So I specially arranged a hard bone for him to gnaw and knocked down Chalijin. You, Kornilov, will also be seriously injured and will not be able to threaten our position for a while. As long as we make good use of this period and consolidate our strength, we will naturally not play with you.

Of course, it is also very likely that Kornilov could not defeat Chalizin, but that doesn't matter. What the Social Revolutionary Party and the Cadets want is that he fired the first shot and set an example for the old officers who were hesitating and swaying.

As long as Kornilov is willing to attack Chalizin according to their command, they have something to say: "See, General Kornilov, whom you trust and admire, is also obedient to our command, which fully demonstrates the legitimacy and authority of the Ufa Provisional Government. Even Kornilov respects us, what else do you have to say? Don't obey your orders!"

Even the Social Revolutionary Party and the Cadets wished Kornilov failed. Just imagine, if Kornilov conquered Tarrizin, wouldn’t his prestige increase greatly? Then he would not take them seriously if he responded to him.

In such a situation, the Social Revolutionary Party and the Cadets would definitely not want to see it. And if Kornilov defeated a big battle, it would be completely different. It is certain that the reputation of this guy will fall further. The old officer who has a good impression of him will naturally think more about whether he should continue to trust this coward. The Allies will naturally give up on this guy completely. They will definitely not bet on a bad guy who cannot stand up to the wall.

It can be said that only when Kornilov failed, the Social Revolutionary Party and the Cadets would applaud, which would mean that they could justify their authority and no longer have to worry about soldiers scrambling for power with them.

Obviously, Alexeyev's purpose for this trip was full of malicious intentions. It can be said that he was here to fool Kornilov with sweet words and push him into the fire pit. The stupid Kornilov thought that this guy had brought good news, which was really sad and lamentable!

Fortunately, there is a smart man around Kornilov. Denikin has always had a clear mind and is very vigilant about attacking Chalijin. For him, the troops at hand are the capital to make a fortune in the future. How could he take out all his capital to bet? Denikin is not so impulsive, nor so stupid!

Therefore, Denikin repeatedly emphasized danger and difficulties, and its essence was that he did not intend to take risks in Chalizin, and such an attitude would definitely not satisfy Alexeyev.

After several times of "one-sided" emphasis on the risks, he finally couldn't help it: "General Denikin, I must remind you that you are a little too cautious and even seem a little cowardly! As a Russian soldier and a senior officer, our responsibility is to defend the motherland. In today's world, when the state regime is stolen by the Bolshevik rebels and when they continue to betray Russian interests, how can we stand by? Is this how you defend our motherland?"

If it were someone else, Alexeyev's plan might be useful, but Denikin didn't take it. From the very beginning, he saw through the hypocrisy of the Social Revolutionary Party and the Cadet Party and scoffed at their various practices. He could sacrifice his life for Russia, but he would not sacrifice for the interests of the Cadet Party and the Social Revolutionary Party.

He was too clear about the tricks of these politicians. He didn't listen to every word they said, just pretending that they were very farting. If they couldn't come up with useful information, they should remain silent.

Suddenly, Denikin sneered and replied: "It is precisely because I love Russia and want to save our great motherland that I have to act cautiously. The military power at hand is extremely precious and can no longer withstand any unnecessary consumption and sacrifice. If you are not sure, you cannot act hastily... Otherwise, when our last power is consumed, what else can you use to defend the great motherland?"

Alexeyev was so angry that he didn't know before that Denikin's verbal skills were so powerful that he resolved his offensive in just a few seconds, and he also showed an attitude of not seeing a rabbit or showing off an eagle. This is really difficult!

Especially when he noticed that Kornilov seemed to trust Denikin more and nodded frequently to his opinions, Alexeyev felt increasingly embarrassed. If he didn't find a way to persuade Kornilov, the trip would be in vain. If Kornilov did not move his troops, then everything planned would be blind.

But the current situation is that Alexeyev is not suitable for continuing to speak, and he may argue with Denikin directly if he speaks. It is easy to intensify conflicts, and he is not sure of winning to convince Denikin. If Denikin takes advantage of the loophole and refutes it, it will be a bad thing.

At this time, we can only let others talk!

Immediately, Alexeyev gave Flanger a wink without hesitation. It would be more appropriate for him to come forward to play against Denikin against Taiwan. Even if there was a problem, he had no responsibility.

After receiving Alexeyevich's wink, Flanger immediately launched an offensive, "General Denikin, you cannot defend your country without moving your troops. In my opinion, your actions are timid and afraid of death. The cooperation of the Czech Legion is a god-given opportunity for us. If we miss this opportunity, we will regret it for life! When your descendants recall your decision today, they will also be ashamed of your decision!"

Rather than saying this to Denikin, it is better to say that it is to Kornilov. This is to use the method of provocation. It should be said that it has achieved a certain effect. Kornilov really took this trick, and immediately he began to hesitate again.

However, Denikin did not hesitate at all. He sneered in his heart and said firmly: "Although the cooperation of the Czech Legion is an opportunity, the objective reality determines that our existing power cannot seize Chalijin... In this case, in my opinion, this is not a good opportunity, but rather an end to one's own destruction. If our last military force is ruined due to temporary recklessness, thus leading to a complete failure, it will cause ridicule from future generations!"

Flanger was so angry: "You..."

But Denikin ignored him and continued on his own: "In my opinion, if our army cannot be strengthened, if we cannot obtain sufficient weapons, ammunition and food, we cannot launch a hasty attack. This is an ironclad fact. If Mr. Savengov and other Dumas want to win, then the first thing is to solve these problems for us. If these problems are not solved, we cannot launch an attack at all!"

Alexeyev and Flanger were so angry that they were very angry, but Kornilov's eyes lit up. He glanced at Denikin with deep meaning, as if saying: "Old guy, you did a great job!"

Why is Kornilov happy? Isn't the reason very obvious? Who doesn't know that having a gun on hand is the foundation of his position in the current situation? Savengov sent someone to make him rebellious but gave nothing. This seems to be a bit of a use of him as a sucker. Kornilov is not stupid. He can guess something about what small abacus between the Cadets and the Social Revolutionary Party. This is also the main reason why he has been hesitating.

And now, Denikin said it outright and made his attitude clear - he wanted me to take the lead and to attack Lijin, yes. But I am weak, so you have to support me with some supplies! No supplies? Hehe, I'm sorry, I'm not patriotic, I really have the will but lack the ability!

So the guy immediately echoed: "I agree with Anton's opinion very much. My situation here is very difficult, and I am in a difficult position to protect myself. Although we are willing to sacrifice for the motherland, we do not solve the objective problems and there is no chance of winning the attack on Chalizin. Please tell Mr. Savengov and ask him to understand our current difficulties. Unless we can provide sufficient support, it will be difficult for us to cooperate with your plan!"

Alexeyev almost wanted to curse. Nowadays, who doesn’t know the importance of weapons, ammunition and food? Why do you support you, an ungrateful wolf, and feed you so that you can turn against you again, right?

But he really couldn't say these words directly, otherwise everyone would turn against each other on the spot, and the plan to fool Kornilov into the fire pit would naturally go bankrupt. Alexeyev could only continue to draw cakes to satisfy his hunger. "We understand your difficulties, but now the situation is difficult everywhere. Moreover, the Bolsheviks have controlled the traffic routes. Even if we can support you, we can't transport them!"

As he said, Alexeyev said "sincerely": "Let's do this, based on the current difficult situation, we can only take one way to solve your problems..."
