As mentioned earlier, it is quite difficult and dangerous to withdraw during the stalemate stage, especially now that there is real pressure on Israel, even if the Egyptian army gives up the stalemate and move into retreat, it will be fake and true, which is ridiculous.

Therefore, the Defense Forces had doubts about this plan, but both Ben Gurion and Aden chose to persist. The reason is very simple. Israel has no better choice now, and the Soviet Union has also made a promise to give Israel all necessary support.

What support made Ben Gurion so at ease? In fact, it was very simple. The Soviet Union urgently deployed an air assault brigade to Israel. The brigade had arrived in Haifa, and according to the Soviet Union's promise, another elite armored brigade would be deployed. The Jews were very clear about the combat effectiveness of the elite troops of the Soviet Red Army. During World War II, the two sides fought side by side for a long time, especially after the start of the large counterattack, and the Jews who witnessed the Red Army beat the German army, admired the combat effectiveness of the Red Army.

Although according to the Soviet Union, the two brigades deployed were only used for defense and not for active attacks, the Jews felt relieved with the Red Army of these two brigades.

Of course, the Soviet Union's actions were still very hidden. The two brigades who arrived in Israel entered Israel in secret. The personnel entered East Prussia as Jewish expatriates, and the equipment was carried out through Soviet aid channels. Even all equipment and personnel entering Israel were uniformly replaced with the IDF's paint, logos and military uniforms. Even the camps of these two brigades were isolated from the surroundings, and no one was allowed to go out or outsiders approached. Anyway, the confidentiality measures were achieved to the extreme.

This is not all. Some of the Red Air Force fighter jets have also begun to be deployed to Israeli airports, and the Soviet Union also sent considerable spare parts and mechanics to help the IDF provide logistical support.

Anyway, with the participation of the Red Army, the preparations for the IDF have become more solid, which is a world of difference compared to the current chaos of Arabs.

All of these gave Ben Gurion and Aden confidence and courage, and the next temptation to lure the enemy depends on the courage and wisdom of the Jewish young men. But to be honest, the Jewish young men were not willing to accept Aden's new plan at the beginning, and the reason was profound.

Let's start from the beginning. We all know that there are two basic forms of defensive combat, one is positional defense, and the other is mobile defense. Position defense also becomes a fixed defense. The defense side uses some terrain and fortifications to defend and wait for an opportunity to counterattack the enemy. The typical manifestation of this form of combat is a battle. For greater flexibility, the defense side can set up two laminated defense lines with three heavy troops, while the armored troops are on standby after the defense line, or are used for counterattack or reinforcement of fixed positions.

The Jews were very familiar with this kind of defensive battle. After World War II, they revolved around this big circle and used this trick to wreck the German Nazis to death. After returning to Palestine, they also used this tactic to deal with the Arabs and the UK, achieving satisfactory results.

Now, Aden actually wants to give up this set and replace the fixed defensive tactics with another set of mobile defense tactics. It is naturally difficult for the IDF to turn up and down. So what is mobile defense tactics?

Mobile defense tactics have also become flexible defense tactics. The defense party only arranges a light-mounted guard force on the front line. Its task is to monitor the enemy's actions, call the rear to the enemy's attack, and delay the enemy's actions. Even when conditions allow, it can induce the enemy into the ambush and annihilation zone to create conditions for annihilation. The troops on the defense line can stick to favorable terrain and win depth, but they do not need to defend the enemy blindly. They should block the enemy's advancement and retreat actively after winning time. The main force of defense operations is composed of armored troops and standby in the rear. The task is to introduce the enemy's main force into the preset annihilation zone and carry out assaults, and eliminate the enemy in maneuver. That is to say, implement mobile defense operations. Only after the invading enemy can they regain the position lost by exchanging space for time.

By a detailed analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of these two defensive operations, we can see that the advantage of position defense is that the defensive party can properly protect all its own land without giving up any territory. The defensive party strengthens the defensive position in advance and fights on a solid defensive position. This has low requirements for the troops and is simple and clear, and has relatively low requirements for the qualities, initiative and flexibility of commanders, soldiers and equipment, as well as combat spirit. It is easier to organize and implement.

However, the disadvantages are also very obvious. Your position is there. As long as the enemy is not too stupid or careless, you can basically make your defense arrangements. That is to say, the expected combat position, terrain and defense posture are basically not a secret, which gives the enemy time to fully ponder and prepare. What's more, after continuous combat exploration, the enemy can also prepare for attacks in a targeted manner. The enemy can completely accumulate a large amount of troops and heavy firearms after contacting the line, hit force attacks or raid a point on your defensive position. People can fight less. Once your reserve team is not strong or cannot keep up, it will be completely collapsed with a point-breaking surface.

What's more, if the enemy concentrates forces to attack a point on your position, the evenly arranged garrison forces on the defense line are difficult to effectively support the battle at key points, and urgently allocating defense arrangements can easily cause chaos. If the enemy is not properly done, it will give the enemy a chance to take advantage of it. If the enemy bypasses or breaks through a point on the defense line, the fortifications and troops on the defense line will lose their value and the defense line will collapse. A typical example is the Nazi blitz at France, which makes the French carefully prepared Maginot line into a decoration.

For mobile defense, the situation is just the opposite. The defense side can concentrate the main force in the standby area, and the enemy does not know where or when the decisive battle breaks out, so it cannot be prepared in advance. However, mobile defense has very high requirements for commanders, soldiers and equipment, and is not something that ordinary mobs can play. Moreover, because it is necessary to actively give up some territory and exchange space for time in order to hit the force to create favorable counterattack conditions.

For the defensive side, giving up territory will be under great political pressure, and even if it is just temporary, it is often considered unacceptable. For example, during the Battle of Kiev during World War II in history, Stalin did not listen to the correct opinions and refused to give up Kiev, which resulted in a heavy failure.

And not all countries can play this trick. For small countries that lack strategic depth, how much space can you have to give up?

Unfortunately, Israel is precisely the kind of small country that lacks strategic depth. According to historical experience, the superpowers demanded a ceasefire shortly after the outbreak of the war and frozen the front line. If the Israeli army voluntarily retreated and exchanged space for time, the Egyptians could take the opportunity to eat Israel's territory and consolidate the continuum. When the Israeli army was just preparing to counterattack, the battlefield was frozen due to the intervention of the superpowers. In this way, the imposed ceasefire did not give the Israeli army a chance to counterattack, and the result was that Israel lost its territory in vain. In this way, Israel could not get any concessions from the other party in politics, nor could it achieve any military victory. Do you think the Jews would like to defend themselves?

Don't think this is nonsense. In the October War in history, Sadat made this idea, preparing to eat Israel's territory through short assaults, and then gain benefits through superpowers' freezing of the battlefield. He was fighting the idea of taking every step forward.

Now, Aden actually has to choose a mobile defense tactic that may suffer huge losses. Do you think Jewish officers and soldiers can accept it happily? It can even be said that if Aden had not performed well in the First Middle East War, the officers and soldiers below might have "rebelled". For example, Sharon was very dissatisfied with Aden's plan and called it a "coward" plan.

Not only was the Salon not satisfied with this plan, but many reserve soldiers were not satisfied with this plan. The reason was very simple. This group of reserve soldiers were recruited urgently. They gave up their jobs, gave up their families, and returned to the front line desperately. They had just arrived at the front line to maintain and stabilize the front line and were suddenly told that they would give up the newly stable front line again. What would you think?

Let me say something more here. Although Israel's reserve system is very complete and efficient, the price it pays is quite high. Because Israel lacks strategic depth and almost all neighboring countries are hostile forces. Once relations with its neighbors are tense, the only way to protect Israel is to recruit reserves to prepare.

For example, on the eve of the Sinai War in 1955, Egypt strengthened the military force on the Sinai front line, and Israel immediately mobilized the reserve service. This process was quite a waste of money. First, the reserve service had to go to the emergency meeting place and distribute military uniforms and weapons. Then they had to drive the tanks and armored vehicles and load them with ammunition and prepare oil and water. The transport convoys also had to mobilize because they wanted to pull the tanks to the front line.

However, not every mobilization will really start. If the crisis is over, the tanks and equipment will return to the arsenal, and the munitions and ammunition must be removed, and all components and systems that need to be repaired must be cleaned, maintained, and all the components and systems that need to be repaired can be put into the storage. Some reserve personnel must stay for a few more days to prepare for the next emergency dispatch when the crisis breaks out, so that the next emergency dispatch can be maintained efficiently. This situation is not once or twice. When Israel's relationship with its surrounding areas is tense, it will come several times in a row, sometimes even three or four times in a row. Many reserves are only a few days apart. If you continue to play for decades, who can stand it?

For example, this time, because the war broke out too suddenly and even Israel was a little unprepared, the initial recruitment of reserves was a little panicked. As soon as the reserves arrived at the assembly site, they did not care about the establishment and had no time to calibrate guns and cannons. After pulling people and pulling equipment, they temporarily formed a combat team to support reinforcements.

It can be said that a considerable number of reserve personnel left their work behind and rushed to the front line. Some very special combat heroes emerged among them. For example, Lieutenant Zvika Gringold, who was not affiliated with any unit when the war broke out. He was studying the company commander course in the military academy and was on vacation to rest at home. After the war broke out, he immediately took a ride to the front line, pulled a few reserve tanks he encountered halfway, found two newly repaired tanks and started the battle.

Although the combat power in Lieutenant Gringold's hands was not worth mentioning, the lieutenant was very smart and decisive. He found that a critical intersection of two highways was unguarded, so he personally led his own small troops to defend.

On the radio, he made up a number of "Zvika troops" to confuse the enemy. Facing the influx of enemy tanks, he changed the place with one shot, destroyed a tank and replaced it with a newly repaired one, changed four tanks in succession, and almost single-handedly held the intersection for 20 hours, causing great damage to the enemy. According to the post-war statistics, he destroyed 20 enemy tanks, but according to the subordinates he temporarily recruited, it should have to double and destroy forty tanks.

When the subsequent reinforcements finally arrived, the Lieutenant Gringold climbed out of the tank with difficulty and lay directly on the ground, with only humming strength. Before he fell asleep, he said the last sentence: "I really can't beat you!"

Not only is this Lieutenant Gringold very powerful, but there are even more powerful troops in the Israeli army. On another front, Mail Zamir of the 7th Brigade commanded a tank company and used eight tanks to withstand the 100 tanks of the 43rd Syrian Tank Brigade's 43rd Tank Brigade's fierce attack for one night. What's amazing is that the company did not suffer any losses.

For these heroes who are desperately on the front line, it would be better to shoot them directly and shoot them to death than to make them abandon their positions and turn around and retreat. For a moment, strong dissatisfaction broke out at the grassroots of the Israel Defense Forces. Everyone was unwilling to give up their positions. They all felt that there was nothing to be afraid of on Zhan Wuzha on the opposite side. They were simply shameless to retreat against a group of scumbags!

Faced with pressure from the grassroots, Aden was also under great pressure, but this chief of staff with a bad temper was not the kind of person who could be easily convinced. He strongly rejected all oppositions and ordered all commanders to implement his instructions immediately. If he did not obey the command, he would get out. At Aden's insistence, the order was finally implemented. The Israel Defense Force quickly and decisively completed the retreat, and distanced himself from the enemy on the other side...
