511 Prison Break (Part 2)

At this time, Shi Nengchi didn't know how important his actions were today. He must have thought that this army was not only carrying gold, silver and jewelry plundered by the Nazis, but also an extremely important strategic resource, uranium 5.

The army here is loaded with about one ton of uranium dioxide with a concentration of 50%, which are enriched uranium that uses Czechoslovakia's heavy industrial capacity for initial purification. According to Germany's plan, this batch of uranium dioxide will be transported to the local area for further enrichment and then used as a nuclear reactor or atomic bomb manufacturing.

According to Germany's industrial level at that time, more than one ton of uranium dioxide could be enriched into more than 90% weapon-grade uranium 300 to 500 kilograms of weapon-grade uranium. These hundreds of kilograms of enriched uranium can produce at least ten atomic bombs (it is still a wasteful configuration like a little boy). If the miniaturization ability is high, it will be enough to create dozens of atomic bombs.

If this batch of enriched uranium is taken away by the Germans, it will undoubtedly become a potential threat. With the Nazi nature of urination, if they really surrender, they may hand over these treasures to Britain and the United States, which will greatly strengthen the nuclear reserves of these two families.

Even Li Xiaofeng didn't know that the Germans had secretly saved up such a large number of enriched uranium. If he had known, he would have started planning a conspiracy to steal it. So Shi Nengji was really a blind cat who met a dead mouse.

However, at that time he didn't know that his actions were so important, and he couldn't even guarantee that his actions would be successful. He just tried his best to attack the enemy.

At that time, he carefully climbed along the railroad tracks, trying not to make any noise, because there were really many Germans above his head. At the most dangerous time, two SS soldiers stood beside him.

Fortunately, the Germans were really low in vigilance. They probably thought that this layer of defense was unlikely to be able to break in. They were really exhausted, and they couldn't eat well on the train and didn't sleep well. From time to time, they even arranged disguises because they had to avoid the Allied air strikes. After all, people couldn't bear it.

Shi Nengchi climbed to the front of the car. There were not many people here. Apart from the driver who was sleeping soundly, there were no one around him.

After glanced at the sleeping driver, Shi Nengji sneaked back to the bottom of the car and carefully returned to Tobinsky's location. He whispered: "Leave a comrade to place the bomb and ignite it in thirty minutes!"

Tobinsky asked, "Isn't that going to be exposed right away?"

Shi Nengji shook his head and said, "No, this is an arms train, there is a danger of explosion. The Germans would not have thought that we did it for a while." While saying that, he took out a few pieces of explosives, ****, wires and excitation devices from the ammunition box.

He quickly assembled the explosives and **** and connected the wires. One set was given to the comrade who was left behind, and the other sets were put into the backpack behind him.

"What else do you want to blow up?" Tobinsky asked in confusion.

"You will know in a while." Shi Neng replied mysteriously, "Now, comrades, you will take all the remaining comrades to the prisoner's war train. After the explosion occurs, when the guards are attracted to the attention of the guards, immediately take the train and release the captured comrades. After success, you will take the comrades immediately to the Golden Train, and I will start the train and take everyone to retreat!"

"You go to grab the car alone? Is it too dangerous?" Tobinsky was very worried.

"There is no problem with me," Shi Nengji said with certainty. "Our manpower is limited. You must release the captured comrades, and there must be no missing people. Otherwise, once the German devils find out, you will not be able to withstand the counterattack at all!"

Tobinsky thought about it and agreed with this statement, but he suggested: "Let's do it, let's go a few more trips. Anyway, there are more arms here, so you can get more weapons and ammunition and get them later to the captured comrades, so that we can persist for a longer time!"

Shi Nengji thought about it and replied: "This is OK, but you must be careful when you act. Never be discovered by the Japanese, otherwise you will fail!"

Tobinsky immediately started to act, and took a few comrades to run a few times, and took dozens of submachine guns and two mg-34s away. If it weren't for the tight time, he really wanted to go a few more trips and get some more weapons.

"For the table, the time is now 1:50, we will officially start the action after 2:00!"

With Shi Neng's order, Tobinsky immediately walked like a prisoner of war train, while Shi Neng's cautiously sneaked back to the golden train. He carefully loaded the explosives under the two cars at the rear of the golden quasi-train and on several surrounding fronts, and then sneaked back to the front with wires and detonating devices.

After finding an opportunity, Shi Nengji turned over and climbed out of the bottom of the car, sneaked into the front of the car, covering the fat driver's mouth and stabbed into his heart.

Why don't you slit your throat? The reason is very simple. Cutting your throat will spew too much blood, which is easily noticed by the German devils. Punching the heart will not only die faster, but also cleaner. Of course, this move also requires higher technical requirements, but it is not a big problem for veterans like Shi Nengji.

After getting rid of the driver, Shi Nengji started to prepare. While secretly igniting the boiler to reserve steam, he carefully paid attention to the movements around him, for fear of something going on at the last moment.

After about ten minutes, a loud bang woke up the German soldiers who were sleeping. The power of the explosion of the arms train was completely beyond Shi Nengzhan's expectations. Not only did it blow the car away, but it also affected other trains within a radius of 20 meters. Several unlucky German patrolmen turned into ashes directly in the explosion.

Soon the sharp alarm sounded, and the sleepy Germans ran towards the accident site while dressing. The guys had no idea what would happen next, because most of them were not carrying weapons.

"Fire hose, hurry up! Put out the fire!" The German major, who was ragged and covered in darkness, issued an order in anger. He felt that it might be that the ammunition was spontaneously ignited due to illegal operations, causing ammunition to ignite and explode.

Just when the Germans were completely attracted by the army that was exploding and fire, Tobinsky and his friends took action. They did not rush to shoot, because Shi Nengchi told them that the later they were alarmed, the better, and that it would be better to release the prisoners of war silently.

At first, Tobinsky and the others did a good job, cutting the German soldiers guarding the prisoners of war with daggers and bayonets or stabbing them to death, until a German soldier on the top of the carriage accidentally turned his head: "Alarm!" he shouted.

However, this shout also killed him. Tobinsky knew that exposure was inevitable, so he raised his hand and killed the guy with a shuttle bullet. Then he quickly ordered: "A weaponed follow me, and a weaponless one will release other comrades!"

The Germans who were awakened by the gunshots then realized that something was wrong. Some of them were busy running back to the barracks to find weapons, while the other part rushed towards Tobinsky in a fierce manner.

The close-range shooting began. Tobinsky and others used submachine guns and machine guns to give the Germans a warning, and suppressed the German soldiers holding the 98k rifle without any effort. Shi Nengji also stepped up the use of iron shovels to add coal into the furnace. Time was tight, so he had to reserve enough steam as soon as possible so that the train could be started and the friends would escape.

The doors of the carriage were opened one after another, and the somewhat confused Red Army prisoners were urged to drive off the train. The Germans on the other side were not idle. They reacted and returned to the battlefield with weapons. As more and more German soldiers began to shoot, the pressure on Tobinsky was getting stronger and stronger.

"Retreat, hurry! You retreat quickly and meet with Comrade Shi Nengchi!"

While fighting back with a machine gun, Tobinsky ordered the prisoners of war to leave first. At this time, the train where Shi Nengzhe was located also had a situation. The German soldiers guarding the train began to take action, some were watching, and the other was distributing weapons. If the prisoners of war with bare hands encountered them like this, they would probably be dead.

However, Shi Nengji had expected this situation long ago, and he pressed the detonator without hesitation. With two loud noises, the German soldiers mobilized on the golden train were bombed into the sky in a daze before they could figure out what was going on. The vibration of the explosion not only killed the German soldiers in the carriage, but also the German devils who were on guard on the roof of the carriage were also staggered. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the prisoners of war rushed forward and solved the remaining German devils in minutes.

"Hurry up and start the train!" Shi Nengji ordered without hesitation, "Where is Comrade Tobinsky and the others?"

"They are still covering the palace, and the German devils have very strong firepower!"

Shi Nengji frowned slightly and said flatly: "You arrange for comrades to get in the car, and then drive immediately. I will pick up Comrade Tobinsky. Remember, wait only five minutes. If we don't come back in five minutes, you can drive and evacuate immediately! Don't hesitate! This is an order!"

After saying that, Shi Nengzi grabbed a submachine gun and rushed towards Tobinsky without saying anything. When he arrived at the scene, Tobinsky and others were not in a good condition. The two comrades had already died, and Tobinsky was also shot, but they had no intention of retreating and were tenaciously resisting the German attack.

Shi Nengzhi rushed to Tobinsky with a submachine gun, and fired at the German army while ordering: "Comrades, retreat quickly! I'll cover!"

Tobinsky smiled bitterly: "Comrade Shi Nengchi, I'm afraid I can't retreat anymore. You can lead the comrades away, my palace behind me!"

Shi Nengji then realized that Tobinsky was shot in the thigh. Although it was briefly bandaged, blood continued to seep out.

"I won't leave you!" Shi Nengchi threw a grenade at the enemy, then held a submachine gun in one hand and inserted his other hand into Tobinsky's armpit. He helped him up despite his opposition.

"Walk!"

Shi Nengji hugged Tobinsky and dragged backwards, and the Germans' offensive became increasingly fierce. Bullets were pounding around him and Tobinsky, and the roar of the explosion was more suitable to fill their eardrums.

Soon Shi Nengji could feel the butt and arm shot, which was a scorching pain anyway. But he refused to say a word, and simply threw away the submachine gun in his hand, inserted his hands into Tobinsky's armpit, lifted him up and dragged him back desperately. At that moment, Shi Nengji had forgotten that he was in the battle and that he was in danger of bullets. He had only one thought in his mind, that was, he had to rescue Tobinsky.

Many years later, Tobinsky still felt deeply moved when he recalled this scene: "The situation was very bad at that time. My thigh was bounced and I couldn't stand up at all. Comrade Shi Nengchi hugged me tightly and dragged towards the direction of the train. To be honest, this journey was not very long, but only those who had experienced it knew how difficult it was... At the beginning, I struggled and shouted desperately, and I asked Comrade Shi Nengchi to let go of me because I felt that I would definitely not be able to leave. Instead of letting both of us fall into it, it would be better to give up and protect other comrades. But Comrade Shi Nengchi ignored what I said at all. He grabbed me tightly and stared at me without saying a word. As soon as I got into his eyes, I had to swallow what I wanted to say... Tsk, it was a pair of eyes that would never give up. No one in this world could change his thoughts..."

When Shi Nengji dragged Tobinsky to the next to the train, they were almost covered in blood. Shi Nengji's biceps were penetrated by a bullet, and the two holes kept bleeding, and the blood flowed down his arm, causing Tobinsky to be all over.

At that time, Shi Nengji had no strength at all, and he took Tobinsky and fell to the platform. Fortunately, several comrades rushed out of the carriage and tried their best to lift them up and stuff them into the carriage.

Woo... Woo... Woo...

As the train whistle sounded three times, the golden train slowly started and moved forward with a crack. On the other side of the platform, the German army was rushing towards the train desperately, which made the carriage full of holes. The Red Army in the carriage also fought back desperately, and the two sides began to shoot across the platform.

However, this round of shooting did not last long. As the golden train became faster and faster, the German army's pursuit became increasingly weak. A few minutes later, when Shi Nengchi looked at the train station away, his face was filled with a happy smile.

"What should I do if the Germans catch up?"

Shi Nengchi replied with a smile: "It's unlikely, what do you think I took so much explosives for before? I've installed explosives in other fronts of the cars! They can't catch up!"

"But what should I do if I meet the German army?"

"Where is the radio station?" Shi Nengchi shouted, "There should be a radio station on this train!"

There are indeed radio stations, and there is no shortage of radio crews among the prisoners of war. All they need to do is contact their own troops. Shi Nengchi believes that if the main force knows how much wealth this train has, the superiors will definitely come with all their strength and will protect the train, even if they are tens of kilometers behind enemy lines at this time.

Shi Nengji was not bad at all. When Rokosovsky learned about the situation on the train, he immediately made a decisive instruction: "Order the mechanized troops to go to the reception immediately, and must rescue these brave and fearless comrades! In addition, connect me to the Military Commission's special line, and I will immediately inform the Military Commission of the relevant situation!"

Soon, Li Xiaofeng learned the whole story, which made him very happy. Isn’t this a sleepy pillow? He was worried about having no money to spend, so the Germans were eager to be the boy who gave money. Are you really a good brother!

Moreover, Li Xiaofeng was even more decisive. He immediately ordered the Signal Flag Special Forces to rush to the scene by helicopter immediately to ensure the safety of gold.

Three days later, more than 200 former Red Army prisoners of war and a train full of wealth returned to the train station where they made a big fuss three days ago. At this time, the station was still filled with the smell of smoke. The blown-up front and carriage fell on the spot, and it was obvious that the Germans had not had time to clean up.

It can only be said that the signal flag came too fast. After receiving the order, an air assault company immediately boarded the plane and arrived at the scene in just three and a half hours. At that time, Shi Nengchi and others were being besieged by German troops from two companies. The arrival of the signal flag solved their urgent needs.

However, after returning to the station, the people who participated in the action that night did not rush to celebrate the victory, but held a brief silence ceremony collectively. They re-tied the bodies of the comrades who died that night and held a small memorial service, because without their sacrifice, there would be no subsequent victory. These sacrificed soldiers were the greatest and loveliest people.

However, there was also the disharmonious factor hidden in this period. Do you still remember the spies from MI5? After being rescued, Matthew Drum did not admit that he was a British, but said that he was a Polish guerrilla. With his ability to insult the real Polish language and the sympathy of Red Army soldiers to the Polish people, these guys actually got away with it. And these spies quickly figured out what was on the train.

"Damn it, the gold fell into the hands of the Russians!" Matthew Drum said angrily.

Yes, the lieutenant had no affection for the Soviet Union, and the reason was very simple. His father was originally a Russian aristocrat. After the October Revolution, he was forced to flee abroad. As a descendant of Belarus, he was born hostile to the Soviet Union. Even if he was rescued by the Red Army once, he had no gratitude at all.

Even this guy thought so: "The Germans do not abuse British and American prisoners of war. As a British, even if I enter the German prisoner of war camp, I will not be in danger of my life. As long as the war is successful, I can still restore my freedom of life and I don't need the damn Bolsheviks to save me!"

Of course, Matthew Drum did not write this emotion on his face. As a spy, he had received training to tell him that only by hiding his true feelings can he survive in the enemy's camp. And he thinks he has more important work: "You must find a way to figure out the amount of this batch of gold, and then notify London that you must not let the polar bears embezzle this batch of gold!"

British spies began to find ways to get close to contact with the Red Army prisoners of war and tried every means to find out what happened on the train. However, their work was not very effective, because the prisoners of war knew very little about how much gold there was on the train.

Speaking of this, we must thank Shi Nengjin. In order to protect this batch of gold, he decisively ordered no one to approach the car, and even directly pasted a seal on the car and locked it with iron chains. With his efforts, no prisoner of war had ever entered the gold car, and most prisoners of war only heard that there was gold in the car. This helped Li Xiaofeng reduce too much trouble.

After trying hard to find any useful information, the British spies gave up their unnecessary reconnaissance. Matthew Drum wanted to break into the carriage for reconnaissance, but the train guards were all signal flag special forces. Not to mention ordinary British spies, even James Bond was not expected to come.

After staying at the station for two days, as the main force of the Second Belarusian Army arrived at the scene, the train quickly drove to Moscow under heavy protection. It was not that a certain immortal was in a hurry to count the money, but the more important reason was that the batch of uranium dioxide. He knew very well what the uranium dioxide at more than 50% concentration of uranium dioxide means. For the current Soviet nuclear industry capabilities, a large number of weapon-level enriched uranium can be enriched in at most half a year, and this was really important for the Soviet Union, which was nervous about nuclear materials.

"Our nuclear experts estimate that this batch of uranium materials is enough to make thirty atomic bombs. If we make an expected breakthrough in miniaturization, we should be able to create more atomic bombs."

Li Xiaofeng nodded with satisfaction, then waved his hand and ordered that the batch of uranium dioxide be immediately concentrated and enough atomic bombs should be created as soon as possible.

Of course, he was not only concerned about the issue of atomic bombs, but also empty with a bomb or a "gun", so he asked: "How is Tupolev's Tu-4 doing?"

Yakov replied: "The prototype is scheduled to be tested this month."

This progress naturally cannot satisfy Li Xiaofeng. After all, the American B29 has been put into use, and the Soviet strategic bomber is still only the Soviet version of the B17, which is the Tu-2, which makes him very dissatisfied.

However, Tupolev's delay is understandable, because the Tu-4 project he led was full of twists and turns, and after two large-scale adjustments, each adjustment almost knocked down the original plan again.

At first, Tupolev was preparing to build a large-scale improved version of the B17, which can be said to be a major improved version of the Tu-3 project. However, halfway through it, when the Military Commission learned that the Americans were working on the B29, it immediately overturned the plan for the major improved version of the Tu-3 and instead asked Tupolev to build a brand new four-engine bomber.
