509 Prison Break (Part 1)

When the Tiger King was shot in the knee, the situation on the battlefield became one-sided. The driver rushed out of the lame tiger and disappeared into the night. Zhang Huangxin and Mao Weiguo had no time to stop it, because just after the Tiger King lame, the Germans seemed to realize that something was wrong and began to fire violently at this area. At one point, the shells fell like rain.

The shelling lasted for about five minutes, but it did not cause much damage to the Free France. Because he was frightened by the Tiger King, the driver Anthony reversed and withdrew from the battlefield despite Mao Weiguo's instructions. The French were really worried that a second Tiger King would be out after a while. He didn't believe he would be so lucky.

This made Mao Weiguo a little angry, but there was nothing he could do. The French are so weird. In this country that advocates freedom, everyone has a unrestrained heart. If you want to use strong ones, the consequence is that the French fight back more tenaciously. This situation is common in later generations. The French strike in the 1998 World Cup, and the French strike in the 2016 European Cup. Anyway, they have a bit of a crazy idea.

Zhang Huangxin complained: "A person like this was arrested directly in the Soviet Red Army. Not to mention being shot, at least he had to be sent to the punishment battalion to reflect. What kind of battle will he fight if he is afraid of death!"

To be honest, Mao Weiguo also looked down on the mud-like French people. Especially the mud-like French people are very proud and think they are better than anyone else. This is really speechless.

Anyway, after all his efforts, Weiguo was unable to let Anthony and the French return to the Free France to continue fighting. In desperation, he could only ask for another clever one. After all, the superior's order was very clear. He had to capture the German City Defense Command before 8 o'clock tomorrow morning, not even a second later.

In order to complete this difficult task, Mao Weiguo had to find foreign players because all the French refused to board the tank to fight. Only foreigners were left without fear of death. Among them, the driver was replaced by Czechoslovakian Kovac, a 1.6-meter-long little man claimed to have driven tractors on the farm when he was a teenager and had driving experience. The radio was named Ivansky from Poland, and the strong loader was a black man, and from French Libya, called Itihad.

This pure "foreign legion" set out again and soon broke through the last line of defense of the German army, killing and injuring dozens of Nazis, and successfully covered the rebels' army's city defense headquarters. The next morning, the photos taken by French reporters included the Free France and its five members.

This photo and the Free France were preserved in the Paris Military Museum as an important cultural relic of the Paris uprising. However, the careless French people forgot this scene decades later. When writing the history of the Paris uprising in World War II, they did not mention these five "foreign warriors". On the contrary, in the writing of conscientious writers, the French were all the French who drove the Free France, who proudly claimed that the greatest Parisian citizens bravely and fearlessly liberated the greatest Paris.

Well, Westerners are so forgetful. They always stand involuntarily from a condescending angle and look down at the "other sentient beings" and then be complacent. This complacent is always disgusting, so let's quickly escape Paris and turn back to the eastern front to see what interesting stories happened there!

Shi Nengchi has been a little lucky recently, why do you say that? Because at this moment he is being locked in a temporary prisoner of war camp of the German army. Well, how did the famous combat hero enter the prisoner of war camp? There is a story here.

Let's start from the beginning. When the Military Commission decided to siege Warsaw without fighting, Zhukov and Rokosovsky bypassed the city with high defense and advanced to the east. The journey was really uncomfortable, because there were almost few German troops along the way, and most of the Nazis fled.

Naturally, this situation made the Red Army soldiers a little fluttered. A considerable number of soldiers even had the idea that the Germans had collapsed, and the next battle would be smooth. Maybe they could go home for Christmas in a few months.

In other words, a wave of impetuousness spread among the Red Army. Many people, including some senior officers, began to be elated, thinking that they could easily win without spending too much effort.

But Germany is really not toothless tiger. On the contrary, they are almost invincible and have the intention of cannibalizing people. So in a small town east of Rhodes, the group where Shi Nengji was located was hit head-on, and the situation turned sharp.

After the war, Zakartsev, the battalion commander of the 17th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, admitted: "First of all, as the battalion commander of the 17th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, I was fully responsible for everything my battalion did and everything I could not do. After a fierce day and night of fighting, I was surprised to find that three of the four companies under my battalion were in chaos. The German devils unexpectedly killed one and fired back, and our young man and I were completely unprepared for this... Let me think about it, this was probably between 1:30 and 2 o'clock in Lincheng, because the political commissar suggested that we have some wine at that time.

After a little rest, just when we were drinking happily, things happened... At first I didn't realize the scale of the German counterattack, thinking that as before, the Japanese were scattered attacks, and these dogs and bastards were very good at this... At that time, I ordered the company commander of Shi Nengchi of the third company to go to the first company to reinforce... At about 2:30, Shi Nengchi told me through the radio that the scale of the enemy's counterattack was quite large, and there were at least one regiment of enemies in the front of his company. I also said that the German artillery fire was quite fierce, and a considerable number of German armored troops were also put into the attack..."

"A few minutes later, each company asked me for help one after another. They all encountered a large group of German troops. And according to the reactions of several company commanders, the German troops that were invested in the attack this time were not recruits, but skillful veterans of Butan! According to them, German tanks first shot the houses that our army was defending, and then the SS soldiers threw grenades into the house. Before the surviving young man in the house woke up from the shock of the explosion, he became a prisoner of the German army..."

"A worse situation happened an hour later, and the house where my battalion was located was completely surrounded. Soon the young man on the street in front of the building was killed and injured by the German army. Just when I thought everything was over, Company Commander Shi Nengji suddenly came out with the Third Company. They fought hard to repel the German attack, so that I could not be captured or beaten to death on the spot. I have to admit that this comrade from the far east was indeed very good at fighting. His Third Company had extremely difficult to repel the German attack, rescued the shaky Second Company from the siege, and then correctly judged the purpose of the German army with his keen battlefield perception ability. Then he decisively led the remaining troops of the Second Company to decisively shrink and move closer to the Battalion. This made the Germans not eat us in one bite."

"Although we temporarily repelled the enemy's attack, it does not mean that everything will be fine. We lost contact with the regiment headquarters, and the sent-out messengers were fired back by the fierce firepower of the Germans. I only knew that there were enemies around me, and I couldn't help but feel a little panicked. At this critical moment, Comrade Shi Nengchi stood up again. With the help of the night's cover, he led the reconnaissance squad out of the encirclement and contacted some of the soldiers of the company that had been surrounded before. He led these soldiers through the enemy's blockade and blockade and found the regiment headquarters that had lost contact."

"The regiment commander is not much better than us. He had ignored Comrade Shi Neng's warning before and relaxed his vigilance. When the German army launched a sudden attack, the regiment headquarters was caught by a small group of German special forces. After a fierce battle, the regiment commander and others could only leave the regiment headquarters' radio station and escaped in a panic with some top-secret documents."

"The most amazing thing about Comrade Shi Nengchi is that he can always do things that other ordinary comrades dare not think. Before dawn, he brought a few comrades back to me through the enemy's blockade again. He brought a crucial message. The regiment commander ordered our battalion to break through before dawn. He would lead the third battalion to cooperate with our actions."

"The breakthrough began, the battle was going on extremely fiercely. The Germans also realized what we wanted to do, intercepted us desperately, and once pushed us back. Just when I was about to give up, Comrade Shi Nengchi stood up and led his third company to rush hard, finally opening a breakthrough, and the big guy immediately rushed towards the opening... A few minutes later, we finally broke out of the encirclement, but I was not happy, because at the last moment, a mortar shell landed beside Comrade Shi Nengchi who was resisting the enemy's counterattack... After the explosion, we lost him forever!"

Well, this Battalion Commander Zakartsev was really unreliable, because Shi Nengji did not sacrifice. It was true that the shell fell to him, but it did not kill him. It was just a shock wave that blew it away. Anyway, Shi Nengji was in the dark at that time and knew nothing. When he woke up, there were only a group of German devils around him, and he was soon caught.

Shi Nengji did not mention this life of being captured too much later. Even though he won the title of Soviet hero and the medal of Venus, this simple Chinese soldier always felt that being captured was shameful, but he was unwilling to talk about it. So what Shi Nengji did in the prisoner-of-war camp can only be found out from the memoirs of others.

Lieutenant Tobinsky was also captured that night. He was the deputy company commander of the first company at that time. Let's take a look at his memories.

"... We were soon surrounded by the enemy and could only defend a house and resist hard. Soon all the soldiers who insisted on fighting were killed under the fire of German tanks. Only my messenger Oleg and Sergeant Sir Khirokov rushed into the basement at the end to escape... But this was useless. Soon the Germans discovered the basement. The gate of the basement was quickly knocked open, and a grenade was thrown in... It was not easy to eat grenades in the narrow basement. Even though we were not injured, the shock of the explosion continued to reflect between the walls, and we were all stunned. When I woke up, we were captured by the Germans..."

"The Germans are not friendly to prisoners of war. We were beaten up by a group of Nazis. Oleg was knocked down with two teeth, and I also turned into a panda eye. Then we were taken back by the other prisoners of war with bayonets. On the way, we saw Company Commander Shi Nengchi who had just drilled out of a pile of soil. At that time, he had not yet woken up from the dizziness of concussion. His first reaction when he saw the Germans was to fight desperately. But it was obvious that his combat power was almost negligible at that time. Soon he was knocked to the ground by the German devils, and a German devil kept hitting his head with a buttstock. Until he fainted, the Nazis stopped abuse."

"Two young men in good condition were pulled out of the captive team by the Nazis. Their mission was to carry Company Commander Shi away. That was the first time I saw Company Commander Shi that day and the last time I saw him. A few days later, I was really surprised when I saw him again."

According to Tobinsky's recollection, after the Germans successfully launched the raid, they quickly stopped when they saw the good news and began to move westward with the seized materials and captured Red Army soldiers. The team was soon discovered by the Red Army's reconnaissance planes. About a strengthened company of the Red Army was ordered to chase the German army and rescue the captured comrades.

The rescue troops' operations were very smooth at the beginning. They only took more than a day to catch up with the German army. However, the price was quite heavy. They encountered no less than five or six enemies along the way, and half of the vehicles and tanks were destroyed. However, they still caught up with the German army. After a fierce battle, the team that was guarding prisoners of war suddenly became in chaos.

Tobinsky, with the messenger Oleg and Sirokov, fought hard to deal with the German soldiers who were warding prisoners of war. After seizing the weapons, they cooperated with the rescue troops to eliminate other German guards. After a fierce battle, the Red Army boys in the prisoner-of-war camp were liberated, and each T-34 was full of Red Army soldiers.

Soon the convoy began to return, but just five kilometers away, they encountered big trouble. A team of Black Panthers behind the palace collided with the convoy. The leading T-34 was blown up on the spot, and then there was chaos. In the fierce battle, the Red Army's tanks could not block the Black Panther's offensive even if they resisted to the death. When the tanks were destroyed, the other vehicles of the convoy were naturally no match for the Black Panther. After repeated weighing, Captain Malanovsky, the commander of the rescue unit, ordered the vehicle to be discarded and fled in dispersion.

In Tobinsky's words, "That's a frenzy!"

In a panic, Tobinsky took Oleg, Sirocov and several other soldiers to plunder some supplies from the damaged vehicles and fled into the forest. The Germans quickly chased after them. After a lot of hunting, the Red Army suffered heavy casualties. Tobinsky and his men escaped by chance and donated blood for the whole night in the woods full of mosquitoes. At dawn, they were tired and hungry and couldn't stand it and began to transfer carefully.

However, Rabinsky and his men were really bad luck. Not long after they crawled out of the woods, they met the German patrol. In desperation, they could only raise their hands to surrender again. The Germans were quite happy, especially when they found that Rabinsky and others had compressed biscuits and spirits in their pockets. By the second half of 1944, the Germans' supplies were also quite tight, and they could only live a hungry meal and a full meal. Can they be unhappy if they could get some extra ration?

"The five German soldiers began to discuss and quickly reached an agreement to distribute half of the supplies evenly in bags for emergencies. As for the other half, they started eating directly, as if they had consumed too much physical strength last night to search for us prisoners... We were naturally helpless about this. It was not so good to see others having breakfast. Especially when other people's breakfast was stolen from your pocket, it felt even worse."

"The Germans started to eat and chew. During this period, only one person held a submachine gun to watch over us. Who made this poor man the lowest and youngest military rank? This guy was about to drool as he saw those friends saliva flowing out... At that time, a crisp gunshot suddenly appeared. The poor man who was responsible for guarding us was shot in the head and fell down immediately. Before we could react, another series of gunshots were fired. The submachine gun made the soil and rocks splash over the Japanese. In a few seconds, several German devils died reluctantly with compressed biscuits in their mouths!"

"It was only then that I realized what happened. It must be my own comrade. Just as I looked in the sound and thought about who it was, Comrade Shi Nengchi lifted off the branches covering his body and ran over quickly. While running, he shouted to us: 'Comrades, don't be stunned, act quickly.' As soon as he finished speaking, he had already rushed to several dead Japanese devils, touching the Japanese corpses with his hands cleverly, plundering all the useful materials. And then we realized and quickly used them to 'snatch' things."

"After half an hour, we followed Comrade Shi Nengchi into a dense forest. He told us that he had been hiding in this forest these two days. To be honest, we were quite surprised. Comrade Shi Nengchi was carried away when he was captured. According to him, he escaped two days ago. How did this be done?"

Later, Rabinsky realized that on the night when Shi Nengchi was captured, when the symptoms of dizziness and tinnitus were slightly relieved, he found an opportunity to knock the guards out of the prisoner-of-war camp. In his words, "The Germans thought that I could not stand firmly, so naturally they were less vigilant. It was too easy to escape."

This really made Rabinsky and others ashamed, because those who were not sick and injured were captured again with comrades-in-arms. It was so pissing that people could be so angry!

But Rabinsky also had questions: "You escaped two days ago, why are you here?"

This is indeed a problem. Two days ago, Rabinsky and his team were in the east. They were driven away by the Germans in the past two days. Shi Nengji escaped, so why didn't he walk east to join his team?

"You can't go east." Shi Nengji shook his head, "We are behind the German front, and when we go east, we will encounter the troops that have retreated from the German army. Moreover, the Germans will also think that I will choose to escape east after escaping, and will inevitably chase in that direction. So I deliberately went the other way, walked west, and avoided their attention. As long as we persist for a while, when the German devils retreat, our team will be safe after we catch up."

This made Rabinsky and others extremely ashamed because they fled eastward according to traditional ideas, and the result was just like what Shi Nengji said was taken by the Germans.

Of course, these issues are not important. Now what Rabinsky and others are most concerned about is what to do next? You can’t hide in the woods, right? They almost got anemia yesterday.

"How can we hide all the time?" Shi Nengchi looked at Rabinsky and others like an alien, and answered naturally: "Every night we attack, why should we hide when we cause trouble for the Germans?"

Well, Rabinsky was really shocked. What can only be done with a few guns of these few people? He also took the initiative to attack. Isn’t that a meat bun hit a dog?

However, Shi Nengji said with a striking remark: "What's wrong with a few guns? A few guns can also cause damage to the enemy. When I was fighting guerrillas in China, there was no such easy-to-use submachine gun. The big sword, spear and spear were like a revolution!"

At this time, Rabinsky and others were really confused. What was the big sword, spear, and dart? Or was it in the Middle Ages? Anyway, they didn't believe in Shi Nengji's words, and they were even more unbelievable about the difficulties of the Chinese Revolution.

Of course, as the saying goes, seeing is true. After nightfall, Shi Nengji quickly fulfilled his words. When Shi Nengji used a bayonet to kill a German sentry with a bayonet, and then sneaked up to cut the throat of another sentry, Rabinsky knew how powerful Shi Nengji's combat power was.

Later, Rabinsky recalled: "Comrade Shi Nengchi is the best hunter. His eyes could see the wind and grass movements dozens of meters away in the dark. When he acted, he was like a strong cheetah. Without a sound, he could touch the German devils, and then tear open the German devils' throats in the next second... Just that night, he silently dealt with the three German devils without a single shot."
