478 Confessions

The smooth battle of Shijiazhuang was really shocked, especially Jiang. Because this was a reference, in June 1944, the Shark Army also launched the Songshan Campaign. In this battle that lasted for more than three months, the Shark Army invested nearly ten regiments, about 24,000 people, and with the air support of the US military, besieged the Japanese 113th Regiment and the 56th Regiment of Field Artillery, with a total of about 1,300 people. Ten large-scale attacks were launched, and nearly 8,000 casualties were missing to win.

T used nearly 100,000 troops to siege more than 25,000 Japanese troops and the same number of puppet troops in Shijiazhuang. The strength advantage was only 2 to 1. The same attack was also a tough one. The geotechnical industry opened up in three days, and the scrapping army took more than a month to make no decisive progress. Moreover, the casualties in these three days were really not great. It was probably that every time a Japanese destruction was eliminated, one casualties were required. This was really beautiful.

Why is the same attack, so different? There are subjective and objective reasons. Objectively speaking, the terrain of Songshan is not bad! It is indeed difficult to chew. But more importantly, the supervisor is the reason. When the subjective, I was too self-righteous when I was scrambling Songshan, thinking that more than a thousand Japanese were amazing. I blindly invested troops in the initial stage and rushed and attacked fiercely. The officers generally had optimism and luck, and they did not expect that the Japanese's resistance would be so fierce and tenacious. When I kicked the iron plate, I naturally felt so painful.

The Communist Party is different. It concentrates heavily from the beginning and realizes the harshness of the battle from the beginning. It is better to use cannons to bomb mosquitoes and kill chickens with a ox knife than to add fuel to it step by step like the scraper.

Not only did the t-commons adopt the principle of high attention in terms of military strength, but also determined the policy of steady action from the beginning. What about the scramblers? Every time they rush hard during the day and beat the positions piled up with human lives, they are careless and easily thrown away by the Japanese army at night. This is not once or twice. Anyway, the scramblers officers never have the idea of gaining wisdom. They don’t pay attention to the pit once, and they still fall into the pit twice, three times, four times, and five times, making you wonder if you should call them stupid? Or do you scold them for not taking the lives of soldiers seriously.

The fighting style of the officers of the raid army, who did not think or summarize, blindly acted recklessly throughout the Songshan Battle. They knew that the enemy's fortifications were solid and their own ability to attack was limited, but they did not take the initiative to find a way. They were always fighting and rushing hard to use human lives to pile up, but they didn't think about whether there was a better way to avoid casualties.

Let’s look at the Communist Party. In the War of Liberation, T Communists faced the problem of attack. T Communist Party’s artillery and air support were less than those of the raiders. How did T Communist find a way? The tunnel tactics are still useful. Later, after fighting for a month or two, the raiders thought of using tunnels to work on the trench. In the end, the tunnel operations blasted the enemy’s fortress before winning. Why did such a simple and practical tactic take so long to think of?

In fact, after all, it is not that the shark army does not know the operation of the tunnel, but that the officers did not take the lives of ordinary soldiers seriously and thought that a pile could lead to a great victory. Secondly, the senior leaders of the shark army ordered to be fast again and again, constantly putting heavy pressure on the deadline. Under the heavy pressure, the shark army officers naturally blindly prayed for speed and sacrificed their lives.

Of course, we also know the final result, but it didn't get up soon. It took more than three months to get rid of this enemy. It really responded to the old saying that haste will not be achieved.

But the common people are not like this, and they are relaxed very well. They can almost be said to have a learning mentality, summarizing experiences and lessons in the battle, not blindly and recklessly, and dealing with the Japanese smartly. With the cooperation of the elder brother, the result is naturally completely different.

So when fighting, you have to be careful. Attention and not attentive are two different consequences. This is not the same as the common people’s ulterior motives. Who are they? One Yan Laoxi and one Jiang, what kind of ulterior motives are there? Two words: territory!

As mentioned earlier, the performance of the Shark Army in 1944 was really poor. The total defeat of Henan, Xiang and Gui was simply a shame. The victory that he finally achieved was the Songshan Battle mentioned above. Objectively speaking, the Shark Army fought very poorly, not to mention that the reason why Mr. Jiang could allow the Songshan Battle to continue was only one of the last resort.

Why did Mr. Jiang fight Songshan? It was to open up land transportation lines so that American aid could come in. After all, it is not that true that it is not the case if you always rely on air transport.

Of course, some things must be made clear. It is this counterattack action that seems to be beneficial to the Scrapers to Jiang. At first, Jiang disagreed! This is not to slander Jiang, but history is like this. On April 17, 1944, the Scrapers were forced to sign a "China-US Nujiang Battle Agreement". So what is the main content of this agreement that was forced to sign? That is, the United States asked Jiang to fulfill his previous promise to counterattack western Yunnan.

To make clear Chiang Kai-shek's promise, we have to start from July 19, 1942, when Stilwell formulated a counterattack against Myanmar code-named "Annajim", in order to open up the Sino-Indian transportation line and turn China into a forward base for counterattacking Japan. This grand plan includes two large-scale strategic concepts: the first is to form the X Army in India (Chinese Army in India) in India, with the purpose of regaining northern Myanmar; the second is to form the Y Army in Yunnan (Chinese Expeditionary Force) in Yunnan, with the purpose of regaining western Yunnan.

According to Stilwell's idea, the X Army and the Y Army will head-on and advance to the China-India Highway to fully recover Myanmar. With Stilwell's efforts, the X Army and the Y Army successively formed training and began to prepare for a counterattack. According to Stilwell's idea and Roosevelt, the Y Army in China should cross the Nujiang River as soon as possible, launch a counterattack against the Japanese army west of the Nujiang River, and open up the Yunnan-Burma Highway as soon as possible.

But what is interesting is that until 1944, Mr. Jiang did not fulfill this promise. The reasons are many. The fundamental reason is that Mr. Jiang still wants to preserve his strength. He doesn’t want to fight this tough battle. He should leave it to you Americans to chew on it. I will still have a chance in the future!

Of course, there are also secondary reasons, such as the British Empire, which many comrades praised, and Fatty Qiu dragged their backs. According to the initial plan agreed by Britain, the United States and China, when the X Army and the Y Army head-on, the British must also land in Yangon to support the Expeditionary Force. However, the British side has always responded coldly to this. They do not assume the military obligations of Myanmar at all. And they also create obstacles to restrict the Expeditionary Force. Anyway, Fatty Qiu clearly does not want to contribute to Myanmar, but the interests of Myanmar will still be his future. Of course, Chiang Kai-shek was very annoyed about this, and naturally he was full of distrust of the British (the first time the Expeditionary Force entered Myanmar to fight, wouldn't it be in the hands of the British).

The second secondary reason is that the United States promised material assistance (10,000 tons of air freight per month and 500 fighter jets) has not yet been in place, and Chiang Kai-shek has not received enough mimi, so how can he take action?

However, Jiang's delay angered a man. The volcano Stilwell erupted. He could not command Chiang, but could do Roosevelt's job. So on April 4, 1944, Jiang received Roosevelt's ultimatum:

"...When fierce battles were underway in western Myanmar and the Aragan coast, the front line of the Salwin River (Nujiang) was still calm, and the result was that the Japanese were able to switch to part of the 56th Division to deal with Stilwell's assault on the Menggong Valley... The long-range assault forces were threatened in northern Myanmar. I can't imagine that the Y troops who obtained American equipment could not advance to fight against the already empty Japanese 56th Division. In my opinion, your 71st Army will no longer be delayed immediately

The time to march to occupy Tengchong and Longling area is ripe. What is confronting you on the Salwin River is only an incompletely equipped division. Your march westward will surely succeed… In order to take advantage of such an opportunity, in the past year, we have equipped and trained your y troops. If we do not use them for a common cause, it would be unreasonable for us to air-equip and provide the most diligent and extensive efforts of the coaches. I hope you will take action immediately.”

Faced with this "ultimatum", Mr. Jiang finally couldn't sit still. The subtext is very clear! If Chiang did not dispatch the expeditionary force, the United States would stop transporting materials to China. Stilwell said that the United States could provide assistance to the Communist Party who was willing to counterattack. It was possible to even give Long Yun local armed forces in Yunnan.

On April 10, Roosevelt's threat turned into a substantial action. On this day, Major General Thomas Hearn, Chief of Staff of Stilwell, told the Military Affairs Committee of the Civil Affairs Commission of the Civil Affairs Commission on the instructions of Marshall, to the Civil Affairs Commission: "It is recommended that the air transport allocation of 734 tons to the Chinese Expeditionary Force be transferred to the US 14th Air Force for four months." Furthermore, plans have been formulated to "cancel the contract to lend to Chinese airlines and recover the aircraft that have been delivered so far."

In desperation, Jiang instructed He Yingqin, Chief of Staff of the Military Commission, to sign the "Nujiang Offensive Order" on April 14, and sent a telegram to Wei Lihuang, commander of the Expeditionary Force, to prepare for a counterattack.

So later we can see an interesting picture. In 1944, the Scrapers were "forced" by the enemy Japanese and the Allied Americans to fight on two fronts, namely the Eastern Front Henan, Hunan and Guangxi, and the Western Front. The Eastern Front was "consuming" the Japanese army while moving forward as usual, while under the supervision of American consultants, the Scrapers could only grit their teeth.

After the war, we can still see that the DPP’s summary and criticism of this is not worth the loss. The victory on the Western Front is far from the loss on the Eastern Front, and this is all the sins committed by Americans, especially Stilwell and his supporter Marshall!

Anyway, it seems that the shark army still thinks he is quite innocent, but is this statement valid? If you don’t fight the Western Front, you can win the Eastern Front? Just like Tang Paopao, who is like a bear, you can win the battle? Of course, it doesn’t matter. Anyway, the shark army is best at making excuses for yourself, and even if it’s not an excuse, you can use it. Anyway, the one who is wrong is others, and you will always be upright.

Of course, Chiang Kai-shek was incompetent to the outside world and was really arrogant at home. When he learned that the Communist Party had opened up the situation in North China and almost liberated the entire North China, that little dirty thought emerged again. Soon he instructed the scramblers in southwestern Shanxi to go to Hebei to receive the results of victory. According to Chiang Kai-shek's theory, he was the orthodox government of the country, and the recovery of North China should be his. As for the recovery of North China, he did not contribute, and Mr. Chiang believed that this was not a problem at all.

To be honest, it was because of the fact that Lao Jiang had too many small plans for taking shortcuts and finally he couldn't get things done. He just wanted to get a bargain but was unwilling to work hard. How could such a good thing happen in this world? What's more, it depends on the opponent's fault, and they are afraid of you?

Moreover, the status of the Republic in history was quite unusual at this time. The eldest brother was completely on their side and facing Mr. Jiang's practice of picking peaches by monkeys. The Soviet Union immediately gave a stern warning. Then he also sarcasticated Jiang: "Henan and Hubei's scrambled thousands of miles away. He did not expect to restore the lost territory. Why didn't there be Japanese troops in Hebei? Instead, the scramblers actively pursued the liberation? I think you are falsely restoring the real separatist."

Of course, Mr. Jiang was shameless. He did not take the Soviet warning seriously. He believed that the American godfather was guarding him and the Soviet Union did not dare to do anything to him. He even wrote a letter to Roosevelt, asking his godfather to help him hit the Soviet Union quickly. He gave the Russians a warning.

So what is the attitude of the Americans? In fact, Roosevelt was also tired of it. Of course, he hoped that the Chinese battlefield could put more pressure on the Japanese army, and it would be better to make him turn the world upside down. Otherwise, he would not have given an ultimatum to Jiang before. But now this matter was completely beyond his expectations. He had previously issued a heavy loan from Jiang and helped build the X and Y units. The X units were better, but the Y units in China were really not very powerful. Look at the Soviet Union, it abandoned the Democratic Party early and instead supported the T-Communist Communist Party. Look at how good the T-Communist fight is now.

Roosevelt wanted to swear from someone Jiang's face. Can you be more scammed? Can you give me some strength? Now this unsupportive thing actually asked him to put pressure on the powerful t and lay in a big trough. Do you still have to have a good face?

To be honest, Roosevelt really didn't want to talk to someone else. He really hoped that the more he fought, the better. But what made Roosevelt depressed was that he could support the party in terms of emotion, but from a political perspective, he could not do so. After all, he had already invested so much money in someone else's place. Now, if he abandoned him, he wouldn't throw all his previous investment into the water?

What's more, abandoning Mr. Jiang and speaking for the common people is not a political explanation in American politics. When he saved the Great Depression, he was attacked by many vicious Republicans and big capitalists for **. Now that he really supports **, he will be sprayed to death. Moreover, ** already has strong support from the Soviet Union, and it is unlikely that he can change his family.

To sum up, even if Roosevelt really didn't like Mr. Jiang, he had to stand up against his will to say a few good things to him. He immediately ordered the Secretary of State to give a note to the Soviet ambassador to the United States, expressing a certain degree of dissatisfaction and concern.

"Which Chinese government is the Soviet government acknowledged? Does it still respect the decision of the Cairo Conference? Are you ready to intervene in China's internal affairs? If the Soviet government intervenes in China's affairs without restraint, the US government will never sit idly by. The US government hopes that the Soviet government will handle China's affairs more rationally and not create conflicts within the alliance!"

What is Livinov's reply to this? He replied: "The Chinese government, which has always recognized by the Soviet government, is the anti-Japanese united front formed by the Communist Party, whoever can attack the fascist forces, will support anyone who can attack the fascist forces. If the Chinese government does not show the determination and courage to resist Japan and cannot meet the most basic requirements of the Chinese people to fight against aggression and seek national independence, then there is no need for this government to exist. The Soviet government firmly defends the basic strength of the Chinese people. If some forces think that they can pretend to be powerful, they can ignore the basic power of the Chinese people, and think that they can preserve their strength and actively prepare for civil war, then the Soviet government will firmly say no to this. And it's better not to have such so-called allies!"

The Soviet Union's attitude was unexpectedly tough. While Livinov made this answer, the Soviet Union also recalled the ambassador to Chongqing and warned Jiang: "If you don't fight the Japanese, but instead provoke a civil war, the Soviet government will never be on the sidelines!"

This unprecedented tough reaction surprised Roosevelt, and he realized that the Soviet Union's determination to support the Communist Party was so strong that even if he suggested that this would affect the relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union, it would be useless.

So why was the Soviet Union so tough? Not only did the T-Communist perform very well, but it made me feel that the Chinese Revolution made great achievements. More importantly, in July 1944, the Soviet Union conducted the third nuclear test. This nuclear test was completely different from the previous two times. The previous two times were at most called nuclear devices, and they were huge in size and had no practical value at all. This time it was a completely practical nuclear test. The Tu-3 bomber dropped an atomic bomb weighing four tons, indicating that the Soviet nuclear weapons had entered a practical state.

What is even more exciting is that as investment increases, the Soviet Union's enriched uranium industry began to enter the fast lane, and the first plutonium bomb was also in its final assembly, and the slowest will be tested in November.

All these mean that the Soviet Union had initially had nuclear strike capabilities, so Trotsky and other great elders were naturally full of confidence, not caring about the verbal threat of imperialism, and were ready to resolutely defend the interests of the international domestic class. On the issue of China, the Soviet Union believed that it had done nothing wrong. It would be fine if Mr. Jiang squatted in the pit and didn't have anything, but he wanted a monkey to go down the mountain to pick peaches? He had to teach this bastard a lesson and let him know that if he didn't work, he would have no salary!

The strong reaction of the Soviet Union triggered a crisis within the alliance, and the Americans were caught off guard, while the insidious British men secretly slaughtered the ghost fire. The anti-fascist alliance that had just become consistent was in danger of being broken. (To be continued.)
