What novel tactics did Rokosovsky come up with to deal with Guderian's key assault tactics? In fact, it was just a counterattack, but instead of investing precious armored troops to counterattack, a portion of Mojiri's defenders crossing the Pripyat River and sneaking out the Germans behind the scenes. The main target of the sneak attack was the traffic nodes and material warehouses of the enemy's second tank cluster.

The surprise attack was launched at midnight. When the German sentries focused their attention on the other side of the river, they had never expected that the Red Army soldiers had already landed behind them in helicopters. They had never expected that they would be attacked behind them, and they died silently in the moonlight. Not to mention the alarm, they did not even have the chance to snorkeling.

After controlling the river bank, the Red Army began to cross the river in an orderly manner. Two hours later, about an infantry regiment had already penetrated into the rear of the German army and soon launched an attack on their respective targets.

The Germans, who were hasty to fight, soon became in chaos. Before they organized a systematic counterattack, the Red Army had retreated back to the south bank of the Pripyat River. So as soon as they woke up in the morning, Guderian received bad news. Two fuel tanks were destroyed, one arsenal was detonated, and more importantly, the warehouse where food was stored was burned by the Red Army.

"According to the statistical results, our fuel can be used for one week, but the food is only enough for the entire army to eat for five days. The Army Group Command told me that because the enemy guerrilla activities are rampant, a considerable number of railways and roads have been destroyed, and it is difficult for the materials in the rear to transport forward. In other words, we are ready to deal with the shortage of materials!"

Guderian's mood is conceivable. Because his second tank cluster's main attack direction is neither Minsk nor Kiev, the supply priority is lower than that of the first and third tank clusters. After arriving in the Mojiri area, the second tank cluster has not received sufficient supplies, and now the material reserves that were not sufficient were still taken over by the enemy. Isn't this a fatal blow?

"Do you want to stop the attack temporarily and wait until the traffic line is cleared before breaking through the enemy's defense line in one breath?"

Guderian snorted coldly: "No. Obviously, our enemies are counting on using such means to stop our attack. This proves from another aspect that they really do not have a good means to deal with our key breakthrough tactics. We make them uncomfortable, but in desperation they are anxious to jump over the wall. So they can't give them a chance to breathe, be sure to continue to attack. If I'm not wrong, they won't last long!"

Guderian's analysis was considered to be incisive. Rokosovsky did make such a calculation. Since he could not stop the enemy, he could only trip the enemy and let the enemy stop by himself. However, Guderian was not a vegetarian. Although his troops were in short supply, he just gritted the bullet and continued to attack fiercely, betting that the Sixth Army could not stop him for three days.

So, after turning around, the situation on the battlefield became worse and worse. The German army almost concentrated all firepower and invested at any cost. The attack waves were like waves, which made Rokosovsky's young man suffer all the hardships.

On the morning of that day, the Red Army, who was not prepared, opened a gap by the enemy's heavy punch, and the German army advanced five kilometers in one breath. This forced the front-line troops to organize suicide squads to counterattack. The two sides fought against the bayonet. In the end, the Red Army fought two companies away and then repelled the German army.

"Comrade Constantine. We must adjust our tactics. If we continue to fight hard, the troops will not last for a week! Please join the armored troops to fight back!"

Faced with the Chief of Staff’s plea, Rokosovsky still insisted on his opinion and flatly refused: “It’s not time yet, you can’t put into armored forces. Send a telegram to the Front Command, telling them that we are under great pressure here and urgently need air support. Please ask the Air Force to bomb the enemy’s troop assembly points and rear warehouses. It’s better to be larger!”

It can be seen that Rokosovsky was preparing to follow Guderian's seven-inch attack. He was going to slam the supply lines and warehouses of the second tank cluster, completely paralyzing the armored hero's ability to advance forward.

Shaposhnikov reluctantly agreed to Rokosovsky's request. To be honest, Lao Sha didn't want to invest too much air force in Kalinkovic. The reason was that the air force he controlled was limited, and Rokosovsky's place was very difficult, but Kiev was even more difficult.

Kiev has been surrounded by the enemy for nearly two months. With the advent of winter, Shaposhnikov is under great pressure. The food, clothing and heating problems of more than one million soldiers and civilians in Kiev were enough to make him a headache, because land transportation was completely cut off by the enemy, and Kiev's supply was completely dependent on air transport.

Even if it has a large number of transport helicopters, Shaposhnikov still feels that the capacity is insufficient and he must rely on the air force's transport aircraft and bombers for airdrops. It can be said that 30% of the Red Army's transport aircraft and bombers have been put into the front line of Kiev, and Kiev is still in a tight life here. Anyway, once these bombers are transferred away, Shaposhnikov will have to be out of stock.

However, after thinking for a long time, Shaposhnikov still met Rokosovsky's request, because he knew very well that the pressure on the Sixth Army was too great. If he did not provide him with enough support, the Mojili defense line would collapse. At the same time, the 16th Army was not prepared, so once it collapsed, the chain reaction was that the Red Army's front line that had just begun to stabilize was to be chiseled a big hole, and groups of German devils would rush into Russia in a rush, and the consequences would be unimaginable.

The air strike that Rokosovsky wanted finally came. The Ukrainian Front concentrated a bomber and two attacking pilots, and launched fierce bombings on the second tank cluster. In the words of Chief Guderian, "This is the most violent air strike that our army has suffered since the outbreak of the war. The crazy polar bear seemed to blow everything to pieces. During the high-intensity bombing that lasted for a whole day, our army not only suffered heavy losses of personnel, but also suffered severe damage to supplies. Whether it was fuel, ammunition, food and medicine, the minimum limit was reduced, but what I didn't expect was that Heinz (Guderian) still ordered us to continue the attack..."

Guderian knew very well that this fierce bombing was aimed at his supplies. The Red Army invested 75% of its air force to strike the second tank cluster material warehouse and transportation routes. Only 25% were invested in battlefield support. Is this purpose still unclear?

But Guderian was also a stubborn man, and he saw through Rokosovsky's attempts. The more someone wanted to force him to stop, the more he would face the challenge. Guderian firmly believed that as long as he continued to attack the enemy, he would collapse earlier than he did.

The situation became interesting, and two people with the same genius and stubbornness collided. Both of them thought they had discovered the other's weaknesses, and they believed that as long as they fought hard against the enemy's weaknesses, they could win. Both of them refused to change, which directly led to the battlefield environment becoming extremely harsh.

In the following day, both the Red Army and the German Army were exhausted. If it weren't for the superiors of both sides' excitement and the supervision team strictly enforced the battlefield discipline, the soldiers on both sides would have given up at the same time.

Not only the soldiers couldn't hold on, but in fact, even Guderian and Rokosovsky exhausted their efforts. Guderian wrote in his letter to his wife: "The Russians have refreshed my understanding of the limits again and again. These guys are no longer the rude, casual and ignorant gray animals I knew in the First World War. I have to admit that the Bolsheviks transformed them well, making them a group of troublemakers that are very difficult to deal with... Of course, I am still full of confidence. After all, my soldiers are more elite. If there were no unexpected factors on the battlefield, I would have ended the battle. And now I still firmly believe that victory can only belong to me!"

Rokosovsky also commented on the German soldiers: "This is a group of highly trained Nazi bandits. Fascism makes them fanatic and still burst out with strong combat power under the condition of lack of supplies. If all German devils were so difficult to deal with, the Patriotic War would become very long and arduous... But I am still full of confidence. The enemy's offensive will never be maintained without limit. They will be tired, even if they never feel tired, it will be useless to lose ammunition... Every day I am calculating the consumption of the Germans. The field cannons and mortars almost stopped on the first day, and the next day, the field cannons could only fire intermittently, and today the mortars have become more cautious in firing. It is obvious that the enemy's ammunition is already very nervous. What I need to consider is how to consume the enemy's ammunition faster!"

On this day, Rokosovsky ordered the Red Army in Mojiri to cross the river to attack the enemy. And the attack time was actually chosen during the day, and the most important thing was that he issued the order: "Try to make the momentum bigger!"

The reason for this order is entirely because Rokosovsky does not expect to defeat his opponent with side attacks. What Mojiri's troops need to do is to consume more German ammunition.

Guderian was also amused and crying about Rokosovsky's rogue methods, but he could only deal with the moves, and he could not ignore the enemy, right? But if he wanted to, the consequences would be very clear, and it would inevitably add an additional burden to the already very tight ammunition supply. Moreover, Rokosovsky shamelessly launched a * "night attack" at night. Of course, this so-called "night attack" basically belongs to heavy thunder and low rainfall, which is to consume the German ammunition reserves.

After a whole day of tug-of-warming war, the Germans finally went on strike. They refused to continue to launch an attack unless they could provide enough ammunition. Faced with this painful situation, Guderian sighed helplessly. He knew that the enemy's conspiracy had succeeded, and he had to stop the attack and wait for the rear to transport enough supplies. In other words, he lost this round!

However, Guderian was not discouraged. He was not inferior to others, but lost in weak logistics supplies. He still thought he still had a chance. As long as he solved the supply problem in a targeted manner, crushing the Russians in front of him would not be a big problem at all.

On the one hand, Guderian ordered the troops to stop and rest and consolidate the positions to prevent the positions that had finally occupied were returned by the Soviet army; on the other hand, he was also actively thinking about countermeasures and finding a better way to defeat his opponent.

Not to mention Guderian's actions, Rokosovsky breathed a sigh of relief. In fact, on the last day, his troops had reached their limit. If the German army could maintain the attack momentum of the previous day, then he would definitely be the one who defeated him.

So Rokosovsky only expressed his caution and joy in winning the first round. At the same time, he was more considering how to play in the next round. It is probably unrealistic to continue the previous round's playing style. The Germans have seen through his plan and made targeted adjustments, and the "forty-kilometer defense line" he created has been penetrated. There is no more depth to squander!

Rokosovsky knew he had to adjust. Given that there was still some time before the twenty-day deadline and there was no room for retreat, there was only one way to defend himself before him!

So Rokosovsky quickly drew troops from the "forty-kilometer" defense line, leaving only a few troops to harass the enemy on the "defense line". The main force retreated to Kalinkovic's urban area and relied on three truly connected lines to block the enemy.

Rokosovsky wrote in his battlefield diary: "The cruelest and most difficult round is coming. We have no way out and can only compete with the enemy head-on!"

In order to face the arduous position war, Rokosovsky hoarded a large amount of supplies, and the most important thing was to repair a large number of solid fortifications, almost turning Kalinkovic into a large military camp, with every house, every trench, every barricade and every foxhole being stationed. For the officers and soldiers of the Sixth Army, there were only two ways before them, either holding the position or dying with the enemy.

Just as Guderian and Rokosovsky were actively preparing for the second round of the fight, they also began to consider adjustments within the German army. In addition to taking advantage of the Ukrainian vacant raid in the early stage of the war, they fought two beautiful annihilation battles. When they entered the front line of Kiev, they faced the Red Army with a tenacious defense. The Southern Army Group was difficult to advance.

In fact, not only did he not advance, but he was forced to retreat step by step. The plan to capture Kiev became a painful siege. He was driven away by the Soviet army in minutes by Moscow and Kharkov. He could maintain the existing front line and thank the Red Army for his insufficient troops. It is said that the performance of the Southern Army Group during this period has caused Hitler's high dissatisfaction. The head of state strongly demanded that Longdested restore his previous unstoppable offensive, break the Red Army's blockade as soon as possible, and quickly march towards the heart of Russia.

In order to implement the intention of the head of state, the German General Staff formulated a new plan. The core idea was to find the weak defense areas of the Red Army, and then concentrate troops to break through in one fell swoop. According to the General Staff, Guderian's front, that is, Rokosovsky's defense line was the weakest. If elite armored troops could be drawn from the Ukrainian's Southern Army Group and inserted into the area, it is very likely that a large hole would be opened in the center of the Red Army's front.

Along this opening, the second tank cluster could quickly advance northward and march towards Moscow through Bryansk. The German General Staff judged that once such a breakthrough was formed, the Soviet defense line would completely collapse and the Bolsheviks would be eliminated.

Soon this new combat plan was improved. The Southern Army Group will draw at least one army into the direction of Belarus and break north together with the second tank cluster. At the same time, in order to conceal the combat attempts and paralyze and mislead the Soviet army, the Southern Army Group must launch a feint attack on the lowlands along the Dnieper River, leaving the Red Army wherever possible to prevent them from going to reinforce the 6th Army.

It has to be said that the German army was very efficient. It only took a week to go from having a preliminary intention to a specific combat plan. On October 10, the Southern Army besieging Kiev suspended its attack on Kiev, and a considerable number of troops were transferred to Belarus. About a German devil of the army passed by Koroskin to Mozili, and Rokosovsky had no idea about this.

And what was the Soviet side doing when the Germans planned to launch a new round of offensives? The Red Army on the front was still struggling to maintain the front, while in the rear, a new debate had already erupted.

Previously, after Li Xiaofeng's proposal, Lenin attached the proposal, the rectification movement among the Red Army was carried out, but the opinions and differences within the Politburo were quite large on how to rectify the movement. Trotsky believed that the rectification movement was to clear the cancer of escape and retreatism in the Red Army. It was necessary to let the Red Army commanders and fighters identify a belief that although the Soviet Union had a large territory, it could no longer take a step back.

Li Xiaofeng firmly disagrees with this. He believes that the rectification of those who fear the enemy but fail to the former has been carried out, and the cowards in the Red Army have been basically eliminated. Most of the cowards have been thrown into the punishment camp and the meritorious service company. The purpose has been achieved. When we do it again, isn’t it a way to expand the attack surface and stand still?
