108 Final preparations

Zhang Gufeng's bloody battle is about to begin. Although the 59th Border Defense Brigade did not receive more reinforcements as in history, according to Li Xiaofeng's strict orders, their preparations for the war are still more sufficient than in history. £∝

By the night of July 3, 1938, the fortifications built by the border troops on Zhanggufeng were basically completed. The 59th Border Corps deployed a special team on Zhanggufeng, with three mobile platoons, one heavy machine gun platoon and one engineer platoon, with a force of about one reinforcement company. The commander of the special team was Captain Sidorenko, and the political commissar was Lieutenant Zabavne.

The 59th Border Defense Corps not only deployed troops much stronger than in history on Zhanggufeng, but also attracted the attention of Shacao Peak, which is mutually supportive with Zhanggufeng. On the morning of July 4, officers and soldiers of the 59th Border Defense Corps drove up Shacao Peak to build positions. In order to avoid the position being raided by Japanese troops, the 59th Border Defense Corps also deployed a heavy machine gun on the 68.8 Highland near Shacao Peak to provide firepower support to friendly forces on Shacao Peak. At the same time, a reinforcement squad was deployed on another 304 Highland and two additional observation points were added.

At the same time, the Japanese army was also actively carrying out operations. According to the order of Weigao Guizang, the Japanese army crossed the Tumen River. One team went from the northwest to the northwest and the other team went from the 147th Highland in the southwest direction (located between Zhanggu Peak and Shacao Peak, near the North Korean General Peak) to Shacao Peak.

At that time, the fortification construction of Shacao Peak was not over, and only some posts were put into use. There were only 11 border guards in these posts, and their weapons and equipment were very simple, with only ten rifles, a DP light machine gun and grenade.

Through the gradually dissipating mist, Lieutenant Mahalin, the frontier commander, discovered that two Japanese squads were moving closer to his post. Mahalin immediately informed the brothers on Zhang Gufeng via field phone: "A large number of Japanese troops have entered our borders. We will fight to the end!"

At the same time, the Japanese army finally fired the first shot, and the two teams fired light machine guns at the top of Shacao Peak. However, under the command of Lieutenant Mahalin, the Soviet army was not panicked and responded calmly. It was not until the Japanese army shouting "Long Live" approached the position that they began to counterattack with rifles.

The Soviet border guards stubbornly blocked the enemy that was several times more than their own. Private Alexander Savine killed five Japanese with five bullets, which was completely fired. Another Private Roman Lisniak, after a brief bandage of his right arm, immediately returned to the battlefield.

However, although the Soviet border guards were brave in combat, they were limited in number after all, and they fell into a passive position for a while. This situation was seen by friendly forces on Zhang Gufeng. Captain Dereshkin suggested using heavy machine guns on Zhang Gufeng to support Shacao Peak. However, they were rejected by Pogodanov, the head of the Political Department of the Border Defense Army and Colonel Grepinnik, the commander of the 59th Border Defense Corps. They believed that the ultimate goal of the Japanese army must be Zhang Gufeng, and that Zhang Gufeng could not expose the firepower point too early. Once the firepower point is knocked off by the enemy, Zhang Gufeng is likely to be lost. At that time, the Japanese could easily hit Pochet.

In this case, Colonel Grepinnik ordered the second-line reserve team to draw two squads to support Zhang Gufeng, and once again draw the border guards from the Parkshekori outpost on the third-line to supplement the insufficient reserve team.

At the same time, Li Xiaofeng also received the information that the Japanese army blatantly fired the first shot. He immediately ordered the NKVD border defense force: "No matter what, you must defend the position and find a way to transport artillery to the front line. You must eliminate the enemy troops invading the northern highlands of Zhanggufeng in our country!"

Of course, Li Xiaofeng also knew that relying on the 59th Border Corps alone was not enough. On the one hand, he convened a plenary meeting of the Military Committee of the Far East Red Flag Front Army, and on the other hand, he urgently sent a message to Moscow. At the same time, he ordered the First Brigade of the Gruutes War, who was ordered to approach Zhang Gufeng, requiring them to rush to the Zhanggufeng battlefield at all costs at all costs and at the fastest speed.

Why did Li Xiaofeng issue such strict orders? After all, the battle has just begun, and Sha Caofeng and Zhang Gufeng are both in the hands of the border guards, and the Japanese army has not invested a lot. The increase in troops to Zhang Gufeng at any cost is likely to further deteriorate the situation, which may lose points in politics.

The reason is actually very simple. Li Xiaofeng is quite clear. Zhang Gufeng is easy to defend but difficult to attack. Once he is taken over by the Japanese army, he may have to pay a heavy price to take it back. The lessons of the Red Army in history are there.

Later it proved that Li Xiaofeng's concerns were reasonable, because the situation in Shacaofeng was very bad at this time. Before the reinforcements arrived at Shacaofeng, Lieutenant Mahalin and his soldiers had already fought with the Japanese army that rushed up.

At that time, Lieutenant Mahalin shouted: "For the motherland, advance!" The first to jump out of the trench to lead the soldiers to counterattack. The soldiers Ivan Shmelev and Vasily Pozdiev died one after another, and Mahalin was soon penetrated by the enemy's bayonet. In the end, only six Soviet troops broke out. When the Soviet reinforcements arrived, the Japanese army retreated not far west of Shacao Peak for surveillance and confronted the Soviet army until late at night.

At 19:20 that night, the commander of the Far East Border Defense Force and the Military Region of the Internal Affairs Force reported to the Far East Red Flag Front: "At 18:20, our army recaptured Shacao Peak and found the remains of Lieutenant Mahalin and four other soldiers. The Japanese army had evacuated Shacao Peak and stationed in China 3,400 meters from the border line..."

In contrast, the 19th Division of the Japanese Army, their first battle report was delivered to the Korean Army Command in Seoul at 17:30. The report emphasized that the situation of Shacaofeng and Zhanggufeng was different. It was not a region with unclear boundaries. At the same time, it claimed that all responsibilities were borne by the division commander (Oitao Katsuzo).

In fact, the implication of Otaka Kamezo is very clear. He believes that the Soviet army invaded Shacaofeng. As the sect leader of the puppet Manchukuo, the Japanese Imperial Army had reason and responsibility to take Shacaofeng back. In fact, it means that the war is reasonable and there is no guilt when leaving alone.

However, Takataro Nakamura was quite dissatisfied with Otaka Kame's approach, because the Army Base Camp had already emphasized before that it was okay to be prepared for combat, but it was not possible to start the war without following orders!

Why was Takataro Nakamura so "conservative"? Because His Majesty the Emperor was very dissatisfied with the Japanese army's approach. As the problem of Zhang Gufeng gradually deteriorated, Japanese Army Minister Hiroshiro, who had just taken office, and Chief of Staff, Miyagi Miyaki tried to persuade Emperor Hirohito to find the place in Zhang Gufeng.

However, Emperor Hirohito's attitude was relatively vague at that time. On the one hand, the emperor was quite interested in retrieving the situation. On the other hand, he was worried that the situation would be out of control. After all, the Japanese army had already fallen into the quagmire of China at this time. He did not have enough energy and material resources to provoke the Soviet Union. Therefore, Hirohito did not comment on the requests of Senei Shiro and Miyato Miyato.

Logically speaking, His Majesty the Emperor opposes it. Then Senei Shiro should calm down a little, but this guy is really brave. He lied in front of Hirohito, saying that the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Iron Yuheng) and the Minister of Navy (Minai Mitsumasa) both supported the occupation of Zhang Gufeng. Hirohito knew very well that the two opposed this proposal.

Hirohito was immediately angry: "The army's actions are too inappropriate... As my army, it has repeatedly adopted despicable means. Without my orders in the future, one soldier cannot be moved!"

However, Shiro Banhenghou still did not give up. He used another trick. In the memorial submitted by the Army to Hirohito to send troops to the Soviet Union, "just" requesting to mobilize two to three divisions to the eastern border of Manchuria. However, the crucial command of these troops was placed in the "Preparation" column, saying: "For the future mobilization of these troops, please appoint the Chief of Staff to be responsible."

Obviously, this is to be prepared to bypass Hirohito. Naturally, Hirohito was not that stupid and would never agree. So the plan of Shiro Masashiro's large-scale military use was stranded, which also led to Takataro Nakamura starting to hesitate.

If everything was done according to the rules, the conflict at Kagufeng might not have broken out immediately. The problem is that Otaka Kaguzumi is a dishonest guy and did not take the orders of Takataro Nakamura seriously. That guy had long been looking forward to creating some "great achievements" and gaining greater "glory". In the words of the Japanese, "Otaka Kaguzumi is called a general who is active and daring to do things, and the captains of the subordinate regiments are also strong."

To put it bluntly, the 19th Division is a group of wealthy wolf, tigers and leopards who are brave and fierce and like to "leave alone". On the surface, Takashi Takashi said that he would obey Takataro Nakamura's orders, but in fact he was ready to attack boldly and fight with the Soviets.

What's more, the orders Nakamura Takataro gave Otaka Tutozo were too soft and did not use a word of complaint or accusation. Such orders were of no use to Otaka Tutozo. This guy even believed that these so-called orders were actually the boss' acquiesce to his actions, so he planned to use the conflict between Sacaofeng to play a big deal!

After talking about the Japanese side, let’s look at the Soviet side. Apaneseko was indeed startled by the sudden outbreak of the battle at Shacao Peak, and almost couldn’t help but jump back from the inspection site. However, after he heard that the Japanese army had been repelled and Shacao Peak had returned to peace, he immediately continued to sit on Diaoyutai.

Why? This guy still thought that the Japanese army would not dare to make things worse. Although this level of friction was not much after the Battle of Halaha River, it was not without it. Anyway, since he served as the commander of the Far East Red Flag Front, he encountered several incidents. In the end, it turned into big things and ended up in nothing.

In the view of Apanesenko, the conflict between Shacaofeng is the same as before, and there is no need to make a fuss about it. He even does not express contempt for someone who is at stern. Such a small matter is necessary to alarm the Military Commission? It is necessary to convene the plenary meeting of the Far East Red Flag Front Military Commission immediately?

Anyway, Apanathenko calmly stated that he would not attend the meeting and did not agree to the convening. Under his influence, some senior officers of the Far East Red Flag Front, especially senior officers of the Army, chose to wait. Most of the officers of the Navy and Air Force attended the meeting. For example, Viktorov, commander of the Pacific Fleet, deputy commander of the Far East Red Flag Front, deputy commander of the Aviation Force, Rechagov, and all officers above the Second Aviation Army.

To be honest, this meeting could hardly be held. The Army only had a deputy commander-in-chief, and even the Chief of Staff did not come. Zhang Gufeng's problem was basically the Army's problem. The Lord was not in a hurry, and it seemed that the Air Force and the Navy were nonchalant.

Li Xiaofeng was naturally very unhappy. He was really interested in killing Apanashenko. This guy repeatedly exploded with him. If he didn't teach him a lesson, how could he be in the army in the future?

Thinking of this, Li Xiaofeng made up his mind, you, Apanashenko, don't pay attention to it, right? Then I will leave you aside. Anyway, after the matter is over, let's see who will be slapped in the face.

"Comrade Victorov. Can the Marine Corps draw part of it to support Zhang Gufeng?" Li Xiaofeng asked.

Viktorov actually didn't have to attend this meeting because he was not a member of the Far East Red Flag Front. He was the commander of the Pacific Fleet, and his level was higher than Apanashenko, but whoever asked him to hold this meeting was Li Xiaofeng. He could not give Apanashenko face, but he could not give face to a certain immortal. What's more, the conflict that happened in Zhang Gufeng was closely related to his fleet's base.

However, Viktorov did not expect that Li Xiaofeng would ask his navy to come forward without asking about the army. This was somewhat unruly. After all, Zhang Gufeng was the defense zone of the Far East Red Flag Front Army, and the navy was considered an outsider. Rampant intervention could easily cause conflicts between the military branches. What's more, the birdman Apanashenko's temper was very clear that if he offended him, the subsequent work would be difficult to carry out.

Of course, Viktorov knew that Apanathanko was not easy to offend, but Li Xiaofeng could not offend at all. The elders of the Politburo, the giants in the Military Commission, and the consistent supporter of the Navy. He would not dare to offend Li Xiaofeng if he offended anyone.

After pondering for a moment, he replied carefully: "Zhang Gufeng is the defense zone of the border defense forces and the Far East Red Flag Front, and it is not appropriate for the Marine Corps to enter rashly. If the Navy Operations Department can allow it..."

Before Viktorov finished speaking, Li Xiaofeng interrupted him: "Martyr Orlov has communicated with him. He has agreed to the Pacific Fleet to carry out an amphibious landing practice in the near future, and the exercise location is in Pochet Bay. The order will be conveyed to you soon. Can you prepare in advance?"

Viktorov immediately agreed immediately because Li Xiaofeng handled the matter very beautifully. With the order from the Navy Operations Department and under the guise of live ammunition exercises, what else can Apanashenko say?

Without saying a word, Victorov immediately withdrew from the meeting and returned to his headquarters. Half an hour later, the 31st Regiment of the Third Marine Division, a subsidiary of the Pacific Fleet, received an emergency call. Two hours later, they began to board the ship one after another to prepare for the so-called live-fire exercise.

Continue to return to the meeting site, Li Xiaofeng got Victorov in just a few seconds, which made **fu a little embarrassed. After all, Zhang Gufeng is the army's business. Now someone just transferred the Marine Corps to the army without asking. This feels like a slap in the face!

"Comrade Andre, isn't it too reckless to do this? After all, Comrade Apaneseko judged..."

"I don't care about Apaneseko," Li Xiaofeng immediately blocked him back. "My judgment is that the Japanese army must make a big fuss about Zhang Gufeng. A fierce battle is imminent. At this time, only the stupid pigs will remain silent!"

"But?" The husband was embarrassed and wanted to say something, but Li Xiaofeng glared at him: "But what?"

**The husband was confused for a moment and suggested: "Do you want to ask the Military Commission to make a decision?"

"This is the Navy's business, so you need to ask for instructions?" Li Xiaofeng glared at him again, "When will the Navy carry out exercises? It depends on the face of your Far East Red Flag Front?"

**The husband knew that it would be useless to say anything else. Someone was determined to let the navy intervene. He could not stop him without ability, so he could only sit back in a bad mood.

In fact, Li Xiaofeng has already given the Far East Red Flag Front Army a face. He originally planned to issue an order to the Second Air Force Army under the Far East Red Flag Front Army through the Air Force Operations Department to directly transfer the Third Airborne Brigade of its subordinates to Zhanggufeng.

However, after some consideration, Li Xiaofeng gave up. After all, as a combined force of various arms, although the Second Air Force Army belongs to the Air Force, it is dispatched by the Far East Red Flag Front Army. He directly crosses the Far East Red Flag Front Army to issue an order to the Second Air Force Army, which is suspected of being commanded by a higher level.

This is not only a direct slap of Apaneseko in the face, but also indirectly making it difficult for Rechagov to do it. The one who doesn't deal with Li Xiaofeng is Apaneseko, not Rechagov. A certain immortal never hurts innocent people when doing things. Since the Pacific Fleet is directly under the command of the Navy Operations Department and the Military Commission, it doesn't exist to look at Apaneseko's face. It's better to have less things than more things.

Of course, Li Xiaofeng also gave instructions to Rechagov, requiring him to increase his combat readiness level, recall all officers and soldiers who went out for vacation, and be prepared for combat at any time. In particular, he should strengthen patrols in the airspace near Zhanggufeng, and directly support ground troops when necessary.

Such an order is completely without psychological pressure for Rechagov. If Apaneseko even blames this, he is not doing it in the face, and the aviation army is not your army's horseman.

The Air Force and the Navy chose to cooperate, but there were not many ways to deal with the Army Li Xiaofeng. It was obvious that Apaneseko had a good control over the Far East Red Flag Front Army. No one dared to blow up the thorns with him. Look at the deputy commander of **fu, he is really a coward.

Fortunately, with the cooperation of the navy, the impact of the army's non-cooperation has been reduced to a minimum. After explaining to the Air Force and the Navy, Li Xiaofeng just gave a lukewarm command to his husband "Be more vigilant", and there was nothing extra.

**The husband also knew that this time the Far East Red Flag Front Army had completely offended Li Xiaofeng. With someone's means, it would be inevitable to wear small shoes in the future. For the sake of future, he could only persuade the overly stubborn commander... (To be continued, please search for Astronomy, the novel is better and faster!
