66 The Drums of War Are Near

Time flies, and after the second half of the year enters eight minutes, it is the blink of an eye toward the end of the year... ≦ 1935 has passed without realizing it. The biggest event in this year is Lenin's retirement, Germany's abolition of the Treaty of Versailles, and the fight between the Soviet Union and Japan on the Haraha River.

This is a year from peace to war. From this year, both Europe and Asia have begun to be in peace. To be honest, a new world war has become unstoppable after the Chinese New Year.

In fact, since this year, the main Axis powers have become formed, even earlier than in history! At the end of October 1935, the Cabinet of Okada Keisuke, who was already internal and external troubles, was suddenly hit hard again. The officers of the Young Imperial Doctrine Sect instigated a large-scale assassination against the commander (the 226th incident in history). Although the perpetrators were quickly suppressed, the impact was unprecedented.

Keisuke Okada was not allowed to resign because of this, and the Imperial Doctrine, which supported the Northward Advance Strategy, suffered a heavy blow. From that day on, the Japanese basically gave up the Northward Advance Route and went south to develop. Under the guidance of this policy, the situation in the Northeast began to ease. Even the Japanese made great concessions on the issues of Xing'an Province (in the Japanese's own opinion, it was a concession).

The Japanese suggested that the Provisional Government of Xing'an Province could continue to exist, and as long as the Provisional Government of Xing'an Province recognized it as an autonomous province under Manchuria, everything would be easy to discuss.

Feng Yuxiang and Ma Zhanshan were both a little moved at one time. As for the Soviet Union, they naturally thought it was acceptable, but they were firmly opposed by Li Xiaofeng.

"If we recognize Xing'an Province belongs to Manchuria, it means that the Soviet government indirectly recognized the legitimacy of the puppet Manchuria... Given that the international community dominated by the Republic of China and Britain and France have been constantly slandered and attacked in recent periods of friction. In this case, it will be even more criticized."

Does Li Xiaofeng's words make sense? Yes. Because the United States and Britain's attitude towards the puppet Manchukuo is very clear, that is, it is "forever" not to recognize it. Once the Soviet Union admits it, even if it indirectly recognizes the puppet Manchukuo, the relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union and the Soviet Union will definitely be affected to a certain extent, because this is not in line with the interests of the United States and Britain in China.

Of course, the relationship between the Soviet Union and Britain is just like that, and no one asks for anyone. But the relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union is different. In the process of industrialization of the Soviet Union, the United States has the greatest role. The Soviet Union's automobile industry is almost entirely American technology. In the 1930s, machine tool equipment was introduced from the United States on a large scale and a large number of American consultants were hired.

If the US-Soviet relations were affected by the puppet Manchukuo and affected the ongoing industrialization of the Soviet Union, it would be more than worth the loss.

So why did the Soviet Union recognize the puppet Manchukuo in history? In fact, look at the date of the signing of the Soviet-Japan Neutrality Treaty, which is the Soviet-Japan Non-Aggression Agreement, and you will know. The time was April 13, 1941, two months before the outbreak of the Patriotic War.

That period was when the momentum of the Axis powers was rising. Germany defeated France with blitzkrieg in Europe, causing the British to be so anxious that they had to lower their noble heads and ask for help from their American cousin. The Japanese occupied almost half of China.

Looking around, the prospects for anti-fascism were bleak. As a country bordering Germany and the Japanese army at the same time, the Soviet Union must take some self-protection measures. In this case, it is probably if the United States and the imperialists would choose to compromise.

And historically, this treaty did prevent the Soviet Union from falling into a passive situation of fighting on both sides. Based on the national interests of others, this was a very successful diplomatic victory.

Of course, in this time and space, Li Xiaofeng does not intend to sign any neutral treaty with the Japanese for the time being. It is not yet 1941, and he just taught the Japanese a lesson, so there is no need to compromise with the Japanese.

In his opinion, it was no longer the Japanese in Xing'an Province's turn to talk nonsense. If we don't accept it, we will continue to fight. It depends on who can't hold on first!

When a fairy brought out the United States as an argument and was about to accept the conditions of the devils, the boss was silent. After thinking for a while, Trotsky asked: "Comrade Andre, what do you think we should do? Or how can we end the war with a decent amount without guilting Britain and the United States?"

Trotsky is like playing past the ball. He can't solve this problem, so he might as well let someone solve it himself.

Li Xiaofeng thought for a while and replied: "In view of the only legal Chinese government in our country that recognizes and establishes diplomatic relations is the Nanjing National Government, we should respect Nanjing's sovereignty over Xing'an Province..."

Before he finished speaking, Stalin became anxious: "What do you mean is to give the Red Army a fierce battle for three months and give the result of a lot of bloodshed and sacrifice to Nanjing, so that the British can do their best?"

"Of course I don't mean that." Li Xiaofeng smiled and replied, "Nanjing's sovereignty over Xing'an Province is irrefutable, but given that Nanjing's sovereignty and cannot protect its territory, we should ensure that the province is not invaded by hostile forces and ensure that the human rights of Chinese citizens are not violated, our country and the international community should be jointly responsible."

"I suggest that we can win the support of the United States on this issue, and that our country can respect China's sovereignty over Xing'an Province and protect the personal safety of Chinese citizens, and that the US government will supervise and implement it..."

Once this suggestion was put forward, the elders of the Politburo were stunned. Who would have thought that someone would come up with such an idea?

"Can the Americans agree?" Trotsky asked with a frown.

"I think it's possible," Li Xiaofeng replied with a smile. "Britain and the United States both hold subjective willingness to curb Japan's ambitions in China in order to safeguard their own interests. However, their interests in China are not completely consistent. Americans do not wear pairs of pants with British people. If we give Americans a little benefit, we believe they are willing to play a role."

Does Americans have this meaning? It should be said that although isolationism is still unstoppable, this does not mean that domestic political forces in the United States are willing to stay in North America for such a slight 30% of the land. Expanding the international influence of the United States is actually their wish. Otherwise, there is no need for Americans to participate in the battle. Don’t treat them as living Lei Fengs in democratic countries!

But what makes the Americans more tragic is that they became the last straw that broke the camel's back as soon as they came on stage. Apart from leaving the impression of a big dog in Europe, the Americans' performance in the first battle is really not very good.

This also indirectly led to the fact that Americans were unable to be completely on par with Britain and France in the post-war share of cakes. The disappointed Americans could only pick up the fig leaf of isolationism again and hide back to their hometown to wait again.

Let me put it this way, isolationism is actually self-comfort after the Americans failed to compete for the first place with Britain. It is not an exaggeration to say it is a fig leaf. As long as the conditions are right, Americans don’t mind throwing away this piece of rag. Haven’t you seen that after World War II, any other American imperialists mentioned isolationism?

Americans are actually just pretentious and want to play a greater role in the international community. But they are worried that the British will not give face and can only make such a thing to comfort themselves. In fact, as long as the conditions are ripe, they are very willing to participate in the matter.

For example, this time, the conditions are relatively mature. First of all, the excuses and conditions given by the Soviet Union are good. The United States has always had the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China and lacks influence on the Northeast region. This time, the Soviets gave them the opportunity to intervene in Northeast affairs, so why not give it a try?

Secondly, just as the Soviets extended their olive branches, Germany, Japan and Italy signed the famous "** International Agreement" in history in advance. This agreement means that the axis of Germany, Japan and Italy was initially formed.

Needless to say, this agreement is aimed at the Soviet Union, and it is based on the perspective of balancing international power. Naturally, the Americans have to be a little more inclined to the Soviet Union, so it is normal for them to agree to the Soviets' proposal.

Finally, have the British been yelling about the humanitarian disaster in Xing'an? If the United States can play a greater role than Britain in this so-called disaster, wouldn't it indirectly prove that it is better than the British cousin!

So the Soviets just proposed that the Americans agreed immediately, and soon ignored the Japanese protests and sent a large-scale supervisory team and the Red Cross to Xing'an Province.

This made Britain and Japan so angry that the British were busy for a long time, and they were hoping to put pressure on the Soviet Union to surrender and make it easier to get a little more profit from the Northeast. As for the Japanese, they had been fighting with Britain and the United States in the Yangtze River Basin, but now, all the American ghosts and animals arrived at the base of the Imperial Army in China, which was a big failure!

Suddenly, the political arena of these two countries was in full swing. But no matter how they made a fuss, the Soviet Union and the United States were unmoved and did whatever they should do. They were so angry that they were like smoke from their elbows!

"But in the end, don't we let the Americans get cheap?" Wufengjevic asked in confusion, "Since that's the case, why not just take a step back to the British?"

Li Xiaofeng shook his head: "You don't understand. The British are much more difficult than the Americans. Letting the British enter the Northeast is ten times more harmful than the Americans! Even if we give our interests in the Northeast completely to the Japanese, it is safer than letting the British intervene in the Northeast!"

"Then aren't you worried about the breakdown of the relationship between the two countries?" Wufengjevic asked again.

"If it breaks, it breaks!" Li Xiaofeng smiled and said, "Anyway, we don't ask him, and even if we ask the British, they won't give us a good face. For the British, we are troublemakers who destroy their layout in Europe and the world, so we can't give us a good face."

After a slight pause, he said: "And Americans are different. In a sense, they are competitors of the British and are temporarily at a disadvantage. They are willing to win over a group of friends to destroy the British. For example, if we are not for the huge ideological differences, the Americans will try harder to win us over. He hopes that we will disturb the good things of the British."

Wufengjievich nodded and said, "I understand, that is, once one day the British power collapses and we become stronger again, the Americans will regard us as enemies, right?"

"You are right!" Li Xiaofeng added to his heart as he said: "This day is almost here."

Of course, Li Xiaofeng did not think that the Soviet Union now has this strength. Objectively speaking, the Soviet Union is still a crane among the world's major powers. Now he wants to challenge the hegemony of the big gangsters, that is, he is overestimating his abilities. The most typical example lives next door - look at the Germans, the living Lei Feng in the international political arena, and used his own destruction to dig out the corners of Britain and France. The colonial system that these two countries, which had been maintained for hundreds of years, disintegrating and collapsed. Objectively promoted the development of the world.

Li Xiaofeng doesn't want to be a living Lei Feng who has changed his dynasty. It's better to let the Germans go to Lei like in history! To be honest, the Germans have performed well in the past two years. Although Hitler is a bit ridiculous, he is really capable. Anyway, after a series of foolings, he has made Britain and France confused and constantly untied the shackles of locking the German war machine.

During this period, Li Xiaofeng was always having fun. He really wanted to see what expressions would be when the Germans who were "spoiled" by Britain and France four years later did not first destroy communism, but dug up the walls of imperialism in the first hoe. To be honest, he couldn't wait.

Of course, this will take time, and the Soviet Union has to practice its internal strength. Otherwise, when the wall of imperialism is dug down, the Soviet Union does not have enough strength to obtain political benefits.

So in the second half of 1935, Li Xiaofeng's focus was not on the Far East battlefield, but on the booming Soviet automobile industry.

Unlike the Politburo's focus, Li Xiaofeng did not only focus on the Americans. If it were just civilian vehicles, there would be no problem in introducing a large number of American technology. However, for the Soviet Union at that time, especially the Red Army, it was really okay to introduce the Gistrucks with Ford technology. Yes, although the Red Army produced a large number of Gistrucks during World War II, this was a forced choice, and it was the Red Army's choice without a choice.

Objectively speaking, Gis is cheap enough and production is simple, which is very consistent with the actual situation of the Soviet Union. But at the same time, it must be seen that Gis is a civilian vehicle after all, with limited load capacity and traction capacity. For the Soviet Union, which had backward infrastructure, it was really only possible to make do with it.

At the same time, looking at other countries in the same period, military chassis was specially designed and performed much higher than that of the Russians' civilian products. Historically, in World War II, if the Russians had not received a large amount of assistance from the United States, the so-called Red Army artilleryism would not have been able to play with (seriously lacking heavy trucks).

Now, the Politburo's focus is still on cheap civilian goods. If nothing unexpected happens, once the war starts, the shortcomings of the heavy-load trucks will kill the Red Army. Li Xiaofeng does not want to fall into the pit, so it is very necessary to introduce special technology to develop heavy-load trucks that meet the needs of the Red Army.

So were there many choices at that time? It should be said that there were still many. The relationship between Germany and the Soviet Union has not yet broken down. In the automobile industry, the Germans have not been bored. Whether it is Mercedes-Benz, Opel, BMW or Man, they have the skills to meet the needs of the Red Army. As for the Americans, whether it is the Cadillac (Kenworth Truck, belonging to the Peca Group) or the Fleeter Truck Company, they can meet the needs, and even the Finnish private Su (Xisu) truck can be competent.

However, Li Xiaofeng was not interested in these companies. Although German goods are good, the processing requirements are too high, which is not in line with the national conditions of the Soviet Union. In the field of small and medium-sized trucks, there is no need for Americans to continue to participate in large trucks. It is important to diversify the introduction of technology to avoid eggs in one basket. As for private Su, the Sisu truck that Cheng then came very well suited the road conditions of the Soviet Union, but this was a company established in 1931 and was not technically outstanding at that time. Moreover, the introduction of Finnish technology would make some big shots embarrassed.

After thinking about it, Li Xiaofeng turned his attention to the Czech Republic and Austria. Whether it is Taitola, Skoda or Steyr, they can meet the needs of the Red Army. Moreover, as a small country in Eastern Europe, its market is not large at all, and I believe they are willing to expand the international market.

After Yakov's investigation, Li Xiaofeng finally set his sights on the Czech Republic's Taitola and Skoda. Especially the former, as the king of off-road among trucks, it meets the field conditions of the Red Army. After all, what the Red Army needs is not only road transport trucks, but load-load chassis with good off-road performance.

Soon, in December 1935, with the strong demands of Li Xiaofeng and the support of providing interest-free loans, the work of introducing Taitula trucks and developing real military chassis was fully launched. According to Li Xiaofeng's requirements, the focus will be on all-wheel drive trucks, with the focus being 6x6 models, and even 8x6 and 8x8 models will be in the future planning.

To be honest, Li Xiaofeng was very anxious about this. It was 1936, and it was more than two years before Germany annexed the entire Czechoslovakia. How to drain the technology of the tret in all directions in such a short time is really a difficult problem.

To this end, a certain immortal made great efforts. He received all technical experts from the Czech Republic under the standards of the Central Committee, and even selected the best technicians from the country to learn. He was truly a waste of time.

With the support of Li Xiaofeng, a brand new car city rose from the ground in the Ural Mountains. This car city, later known as the Andre Factory, produced more than two million heavy-load trucks in four years since June 1941, nearly half of which were 6x6 models, and most of the remaining were 8x4 models, solving the urgent need of the Red Army artillery for towing vehicles. On the day of the victory of World War II, the city was awarded the Red Flag Medal.

Just as Li Xiaofeng was busy introducing Taitula technology, an unprecedented political crisis was imminent on the Iberian Peninsula. Regarding the future direction of Spain, Nazi Germany and the Red Soviet Union had a head-on confrontation on the battlefield for the first time...
