Chapter 19 Clarity of Nature
In July, Yangzhou City is shrouded in a light mist, nourishing all things. The willows on the street and the plants on the road grow silently in the faint mist.
The world is still war, the towering and calm atmosphere of the ancient city of Yangzhou, the exquisite and quaint buildings in the city, the thriving plants and trees planted in the streets and alleys, and the wild gardens in the backyards of wealthy families are incompatible with the world outside the city, and in contrast to the yellowish-faced refugees.
In a remote courtyard in Yangzhou City, following the love of garden architecture in Jiangnan, this two-entry courtyard covering only a few dozen acres has a small garden. The rockery and flowing water in the garden are all complete. A small pavilion was built on the pile of earthen platforms. A young man in white sat upright on the futon under the red tiles of the flying eaves.
Du Xu meditated in the pavilion, his face was calm and peaceful, and he sat cross-legged there, with his own demeanor of Yue Zhenyuan.
The water mist in the air was blown towards him by the wind, but it gently bypassed Du Xu's body and spiraled around him. From a distance, Du Xu was surrounded by clouds and mist. From time to time, there was a strange cloud disturbance, as if a dragon was hidden in the mist and a crane flew into the clouds.
Nearly a month has passed since Qibao Temple. During this period, Du Xu's practice has made rapid progress, and his soul has grown to a bottleneck!
He is now circulating his true energy and hitting the bottleneck, and he has been preparing for this for three days.
Three days ago, Du Xu felt uneasy and often felt a little dazed. He suspected that there was a demonic disaster, so he hurried to ask Uncle Jiu. After asking him carefully about his mental condition, he handed him a copy of the "Southern Hua Sutra".
Du Xu went back and looked carefully in confusion. He rarely read the scriptures of these sages. After reading them, he felt that every word was gems and he felt that he had realized something. Until he saw: "Those who look at the missing are white, and the auspiciousness is stopped." This paragraph felt that he was filled with all his thoughts, and he felt annoyed that he wanted to catch something but had no clues.
"Uncle Jiu wanted to remind me that my soul has grown to a limit, and my strength is full and my nature is insufficient, so my soul becomes restless. This is a sign that it is not enough to control the power of the soul."
"There are records on this aspect in the Taoist scriptures. If the soil is pinched to make an image, it is only three inches. If you add water to mud, it is only three feet high. If you refine pottery in fire, you will get three feet."
"The soul of a mortal is like dust. Even if the visualization is exercised to the extreme, it is like using dry soil to form a soil image. It is only three inches high. Even if the soul of a mortal is exercised to the extreme, it means that the spirit is better if the ears are clear and the eyes are clear."
"The practitioners refine the essence of medicine from the human body and temper it into true qi. The true qi of the soul nourishes each other, just like adding water to the dust, turning the soil into mud, so that the soul has greater room for improvement. The mixing of true qi and soul power can produce extraordinary power, which is called magic power by the monks."
"But even the mud statue made of mud is only three feet high, and it is dangerous to collapse when it is raised. This is because the mud statue is insufficient to maintain its strength. My soul is now so strong that it cannot be maintained!"
"The solution, Uncle Jiu has already hinted to me, and the Taoist scriptures also explain it clearly: 'fire to make pottery'. Sublimate the soul and illuminate the natural light. Sublimate the clay soul into ceramics, which has a stronger essence."
Du Xu understood the bottleneck of his practice, so he returned to a small courtyard he rented, carefully reflecting on what he did at this stage, starting from his own practice, right or wrong, etc., and repeatedly pondered and considered his various thoughts. Those thoughts came from his own inner nature, and those were influenced by society and others on him.
After three days of this, I felt that I finally had a feeling of returning to a baby as stated in the "Tao Te Ching". Du Xu's observation of his inner self finally grasped his own nature.
When a person is born as a baby, he has no thoughts and no nature, but in his acquired growth, he is contaminated with various distracting thoughts in the world, causing the reaction and changes of the innate light, forming the nature of a "human".
When I see people happy, I feel happy, and love is my nature.
I feel empathy when I see people suffering, and compassion is my nature.
I see people suffering retribution, and they will be filled with bad retribution, and their hearts will feel pleasure. Revenge is my nature.
I saw someone who was hurt and blocked me, so that I could not be free. I had the idea of killing, and killing was my nature.
I see people happy and reflect on my own misfortune. I feel jealous and hatred in my heart. Jealous and hatred are my nature.
I see that pursuit is right in front of me, and I feel unyielding and unyielding. This indomitableness is my nature.
There is no distinction between the nature of nature, only whether it is blinded! The light of the innate nature is often filthed by the distracting thoughts of the world, and has various distortions, but instead forgets one's original intention and nature.
Du Xu began to recall since he had memories!
Du Xu spent three days reflecting on himself, and after his mind matured, what was out of nature, what was influenced by the environment and others!
In the classroom, a thin figure held a book and looked at it happily. His heart was filled with joy and satisfaction. He felt that he knew more and he felt happy. Later, under the scolding of his father and mother's tears, this thin figure put down his favorite book and picked up the textbook. In his heart, he felt dissatisfied with being restrained and disgusted with knowledge.
On the road, an ordinary young man walked towards the opposite side excitedly, and suddenly a large truck rushed towards him. The young man died under the wheel before he could react. He had a desire for life, reluctance to leave his family, disappointment with reality, and helpless condonation with death.
In the dormitory, a college student woke up from a headache, holding a mirror-shaped tattoo on his left arm. He had expectations for immortality and freedom, the joy of getting rid of the constraints, and the ambition to roam the world and the desire of a beautiful woman in money.
In the dilapidated temple, a young short-haired Taoist priest with a black belt wrapped in his left hand and a right hand supporting the ground. He sat loosely outside the temple. He had the courage to scatter the demons in his heart, strong confidence and courage in himself, fear of facing ghosts and fear of death.
Are these me? In the past three days, such scenes flashed countless times. Is this person who likes and dislikes, is he unwilling to be calm, longs for freedom, greed for the world, brave, fearless, and afraid of life and death, really me?
Du Xu was confused. For three days, he kept reflecting on himself, recalling his thoughts and thoughts when facing life, but lost in these contradictory thoughts.
Who am I? What kind of me is the real me? I love learning, I hate learning, I long for life, I give up on myself, I am free and at ease, I am brave and fearless, I am greedy for life and death, I am the real me?
Such countless messy thoughts constantly impact Du Xu's mind. These are Du Xu's thoughts and thoughts. If Du Xu accepts all these thoughts, it will lead to great conflicts, half of which may die and half may go crazy.
Only by clarifying the spiritual light of nature in these contradictory thoughts can we cut off the false thoughts, wipe away the acquired filth of the innate spirit, and illuminate the light of nature.
Du Xu is now in this pavilion, swelling his true energy and maintaining the bright light of his soul, observing and thinking.
In the sea of consciousness, many figures of Du Xu appeared, including Du Xu when he was a child, Du Xu when he was a child, Du Xu when he was in love, Du Xu after breaking up, Du Xu in mortal Du Xu, and monk Du Xu. Among these thousands of figures, there is a figure that is the clearest. This figure is sitting upright on a cushion, with short white hair, exactly the same as Du Xu in reality.
This figure is not as illusory as others, it is like a living person, it is Du Xu's soul.
The eyes of the soul slowly opened, and the black and white colors in the eyes formed two Tai Chi diagrams, which slowly turned like a vortex, and then a black and white sword energy that covered the sky and slashed towards the other figures.
The small figure in the classroom happily held the book, and a sword light cut off his disgust of knowledge in his heart. - I don't hate learning, I just don't like being restrained.
The young man under the wheel looked at the truck hitting his head in fear, and a sword light cut off his indulgence for death. - I love my life, but I don't like some aspects of reality.
The college student in the dormitory was looking forward to holding his left arm and a sword light cut off his greed and desire for the power of the world and the beauty of money. - I wish forever and freedom, and all the beauties of money were false.
The short-haired Taoist priest in the ruined temple looked fearlessly at the evil spirits and ghosts outside the temple. A sword light cut off his fear of ghosts and gods and fear of death. - I pursue immortality with the courage to face death.
