epilogue (2)

Ending (2)

Next to the official road, Duting Post Office.

In the evening, there were loud noises in Duting Post. In the lobby, the burning charcoal fire brought warmth. The travelers who had been traveling for a day in the cold wind and snow could finally rest in this warm place, eat some hot soup and hot rice, and sleep for a while, and then have the strength to continue the difficult journey tomorrow morning.

In the corner next to the counter, Li Yuanfang was discussing something with the inn manager at the station. The inn manager pointed at Di Jinghui and frowned and said, "It's okay for you to have three rooms, but he is a prisoner who is serving the sentence. He is not allowed to live in a guest room, and he has to live in a prison." Li Yuanfang said softly: "This is not an official, so there are so many rules. Isn't it okay for you to earn more money?" The inn manager said, "Oh, I am also an official inn manager at Duting Station, so naturally I have to tell some rules. Otherwise..." Li Yuanfang thought for a while and said, "Forget it, that's not difficult for you. I just want two rooms and let him live with me, so you don't care. Is it okay?" The inn manager coughed and stopped talking.

Li Yuanfang returned to a group of people and arranged for two officers to go back to the room to rest. He asked the guy to take the meal to their room, and then took Han Bin and Di Jinghui to the room upstairs. Di Jinghui limped up the stairs with a look of pain on his face. The three of them entered the room, Di Jinghui sat on the chair and let out a long sigh. Li Yuanfang looked at him, poured a cup of tea and handed it to him, and said, "Let's drink a little hot water." Han Bin saw it, and came over and said, "Brother, I want to drink hot water too." Li Yuanfang also poured the cup for him and asked, "Bin'er, what's going on today? I've been sleeping all the way, and I hugged you so much that my arms were almost broken. Why are you sleeping like this? Didn't you sleep last night?" Han Bin blinked: "I'm a little sleepy. Grandpa told me all night last night."

Li Yuanfang frowned and said angrily: "Grandpa, what are the messy names? What do you mean by sir? What do you mean by sir? I've said it all night?"

Han Bin turned his head and said, "I won't tell you. You are fierce." Li Yuanfang glared at him, walked to Di Jinghui, squatted down, and said, "Take off your boots, I'll look at your feet." Di Jinghui was stunned, his face turned red, and Li Yuanfang smiled: "You have never walked such a long road. You must have bubbles on your feet now. If you don't deal with it quickly, you won't be able to walk tomorrow." Di Jinghui then hesitated and bent down to take off his boot socks. As expected, there were already a large blister in the soles of his feet, and some of them were broken. Li Yuanfang looked, pulled out a small dagger from the boot barrel, put it on the candlelight, burned the tip of the burner, picked up Di Jinghui's feet, and took out the blisters one by one, and then took clean socks for Di Jinghui to change them. Li Yuanfang walked to the basin and washed his hands while saying, "These blisters tomorrow morning

It will be scarred and will break again after walking for a while. If it happens for two or three times, thick calluses will form on the soles of your feet. Just like me, you will no longer be afraid of walking on a long road." Di Jinghui thanked him softly, thought for a while, and said a little indignantly: "How good is it for us to buy another foot strength? I feel comfortable, and you don't have to worry about it." Li Yuanfang said: "You are going to the rushing force, not traveling around. You can't ride a horse." He returned to the table and sat down, took a sip of water, and said: "Let's do it. After leaving the post station tomorrow, you will walk a few places where there are fewer people. Let's ride a horse with Bin'er. When we are about to arrive in Zhendian, we will change it to ride a horse. We will do this in the pass. When we get outside the pass, no one will pay attention to this. Then I will buy more foot strength."

Han Bin listened, pouted and muttered, "I don't want to ride a horse with him." Li Yuanfang asked, "What do you want?" Han Bin said, "I'll walk with you." Li Yuanfang smiled and shook his head: "You, you should be exhausted after not leaving for an hour. What should I do then?" Han Bin leaned on him: "Then carry me on my back!" Li Yuanfang gently tapped Han Bin's head: "Little bastard, you want to be exhausted to death." Han Bin stuck out his tongue at him and said, "You know you're tired, so ride a horse by yourself." He pointed to Di Jinghui again: "He is not sick and not injured, he is as strong as a cow, why should he ride a horse on you?" Li Yuanfang was stunned by his words, and smiled: "I've just been with the adults for one night and started teasing me."

As he was talking, someone knocked on the door. Han Bin ran over and opened the door. The guy walked in with the food and put it on the table. Li Yuanfang thanked him. The guy was about to go out when Di Jinghui suddenly asked, "Hey, do you have good wine here?"

The guy said, "Yes, what wine do you want to drink?"

"This...is there any Wuyunjiu? Or Xinfeng wine? Or Pear blossom spring is OK."

The guy said, "This guest, all you are talking about is a top-notch famous wine, we don't have it here."

Di Jinghui said impatiently: "Then what do you think you have?"

The guy said: "The best thing here is Shidong Chunjiu."

"Okay! Just want this, give us two buckets first."

Li Yuanfang kept listening without saying a word, and then said, "Di Jinghui, buy whatever wine you want to drink yourself, I don't have any money."

Di Jinghui's eyebrows stood up: "How is it possible? Isn't the Sichuan-civilian travel expenses all over your place?"

"We rely on this money along the way. Maybe we will have to face heavy snow and block the road. I guess it will take at least one month to walk, and this money may not be enough to spend."

"You!" Di Jinghui slapped the table in anger and muttered, "Sure enough, I learned to be as stingy as my father." The guy said, "Customer, do you want to drink? If you don't want me, I'll go down first."

Di Jinghui hurriedly said, "Wait, don't leave." As he said that, he was touching all over his body, but unfortunately he had nothing to find. Li Yuanfang ignored him and started eating with Han Bin. Suddenly, Di Jinghui laughed loudly: "Haha! There is!" He grabbed a bamboo chopstick from the table, inserted it into his head, took off his original hairpin, put it on the table, and said, "That's it. I'll exchange this for two hu of wine for you, it's okay."

The guy glanced at the hairpin: "How much is this thing worth?"

Di Jinghui smiled and said, "You will take it down first and let the person in charge of your business, and you will know."

The guy ran downstairs with his hairpin, and Li Yuanfang asked curiously: "Is your thing valuable?" Di Jinghui curled his lips and said, "Hmph, it's enough to buy his post station." "Then do you use it for wine?" "Hey, money is something outside of your body, it's not white or nothing. I, Di Jinghui, have all my daughters, and I don't care about spending more of them." Li Yuanfang nodded with a smile, and saw the manager of the post station nodding and walked into the door. Several guys followed behind him, each holding wine and food. The manager directed them to set the wine and food on the table, poured two glasses of wine in person, and then he stepped out respectfully.
