Nine-rate

In "Han Shu·Yiwenzhi", they refer to: Confucianism, Taoism, Yin-Yang School, Legalism, famous school, Mohist school, traitor, mixed school, and farming school.

Sima Qian's father Sima Tan divided the hundred schools of thought into six schools in "On the Essentials of the Six Schools" for the first time: Yin and Yang, Confucianism, Mohism, Fa, and Taoism. Later, in "Seven Notes", Liu Xin added ten schools of thought, including vertical and horizontal, miscellaneous, agricultural, and novels based on Sima Tan's division. Ban Gu was in "Book of Han".

In Yiwenzhi, Liu Xin was inherited and believed that: there are only nine schools of thought that there are ten schools of thought. Later, people went to novelists and called the remaining nine schools of thought Jiuliu.

The nine-story can be divided into the upper-story, the middle-story and the lower-story, but there are different opinions.
