Chapter 34 Shelling
(In the end, if you fill up your stinky skin, when will you reach the other side of the world?)
When Kui Mulang saw Lan Feng asking such a question, he lowered his head and hesitated to speak.
After a long time, he picked up the Tripitaka records on the case, looked at the table and said, "Young master, there are some things that it is best not to know."
Lanfeng frowned. He recalled the different pages of the burned last few notes and felt that this matter was not simple. Seeing Kuimulang refusing to speak, he said: "Donor Kuimulang, the young monk is here in the Sutra-Tiding Pavilion."
I have been reading the scriptures for six years. This scripture is the life-long effort of Master Tripitaka. Now, by chance, I am lucky enough to see the Master’s transcripts, but I find that someone has tampered with them. How can this make me feel relieved?"
Kuimulang said: "It is precisely because you have read the true scripture that I don't want to tell you about it. You are a disciple of Buddhism, and I am afraid that I will tell you..."
Lan Feng rushed to speak: "If you are unwilling to tell the truth to the donor, then the young monk will not take the donor to find the Hundred Flowers Shame!"
"You..." Kui Mulang was troubled in his heart. He sighed before telling the story...
"Back then, when I had achieved great success and retreated to look for flowers, I felt ashamed, and I was afraid that Guanyin would deceive me, so I wanted to find Master Tripitaka to come and talk to me about justice. Thinking of this, I turned back to the west again.
Unfortunately, I came a step late. In front of Lingyun Crossing, I saw the five masters and disciples about to cross the river. I wanted to step forward and shout, but they were blocked by the Buddha's light.
At that time, he saw a single-plank bridge on the cliff of Lingyundu Mountain that was crumbling. Sun Xingzhe stepped forward and crossed the shore easily. He called Master Sanzang to go forward, but Master Sanzang saw that the wooden bridge was steep and would fall to pieces if he was not careful.
I would rather die than go up.
Only at this time did the Buddha come to ferry people in a bottomless boat."
"Bottomless boat?" When Lan Feng heard this, he suddenly thought of Long Xiao, the fisherman with a broken boat in Longjiao Valley, but he was not allowed to think too much. Na Kuimulang said again: "Master Sanzang also refused to see the bottomless boat.
Then he was pushed into the boat by Sun Xingzhe. Master Sanzang tremblingly reached the river, only to see his own body being thrown into the river and drifting away with the waves. Xingzhe said that it was the master who had escaped from the mortal body.
Strange to say, after seeing the physical body separated, the Master actually bowed to the physical body and recited Amitabha, and then he went to the Western Heaven without fear.
I saw the body floating away with the waves, fearing that it was still alive, so I bypassed the Buddha's light and picked up the Master's body from the downstream. Only then did I see that the breath of the body was well-proportioned, and the face was lifelike. It was not a dead person, but it was clearly asleep.
.
However, I called him countless times but this physical body still could not wake up. In desperation, I could only carry this physical body to Jinshan Temple.
But just as I was about to explain my purpose to the abbot of the temple, I saw auspicious clouds rising from the sky, and the Buddhist monks and disciples were actually standing in the clouds. After becoming a Buddha, Master Sanzang saw me carrying the body, so he asked me to put him there.
On the top of the Sutra Pavilion, after the master taught meditation, he came to this body. He muttered words and sealed the body here.
I went up to him and asked him about Baihuaxi, but he only said that he had passed away, so there was no need to worry about him. After hearing this, my heart became cold.
The Master said that since my earthly fate is over, I might as well protect his physical body and guard this sutra pavilion, so I agreed...
This record was also given to me by the Master and told me not to let anyone read it, so I snatched it from you."
"That's not right..." The more Lan Feng thought about it, the more frightened he became. "I have read this record, and there are signs of being torn on the last few pages. Someone has clearly added it later, and the handwriting is different. I don't want to go to the single-plank bridge, I don't want to go
Is the bottomless boat really just out of fear? There must be something fishy in it!"
"Someone finally saw that transcript..." An old voice slowly came out of the darkness.
Lan Fengqiu
He could see the man clearly under the light: "Elder Xuanzhai!!"
Elder Xuanzhi didn't know when he went to the Sutra Pavilion. At this time, his face was ashen and he was stumbling step by step...
"It was the Buddha who deceived me after all!!" A bitter smile came out.
What's going on? What exactly is this...Lan Feng's mind is in a mess. The revised transcript, the elder Xuanzhai talking nonsense in front of him, and the physical body hidden here...the physical body!!
Lanfeng suddenly said to Kuimulang: "Where is the physical body?!"
Kui Mulang said: "Right, right behind this desk!"
"Wow——"
Lan Feng moved the table away, only to see the body of a monk sitting cross-legged in front of him. The monk was wearing a torn cassock, skinny as a stick, less than five feet tall, and the old man even had no beard under his chin. This, this
He is clearly Elder Xuanzhai!!
Lan Feng was so frightened that he fell to the ground, his whole body soaked in cold sweat. He stared at the physical body in front of him and Elder Xuanzhi and said, "You...who are you?"
Elder Xuanzhi walked in front of the body little by little, and knelt down with a plop. He touched the cheek of the body with his hand and said tremblingly: "I traveled a hundred and eight thousand miles, and slept in the open for ten days. Just to beg."
That true sutra can help people in the world... But, Buddha, why did you bully me? Why did you bully me! Why... bully me..."
The voice gradually became quieter, and Elder Xuanzhi made no move. For a moment, the Sutra Pavilion was terrifyingly quiet!
Kui Mulang looked at the body blankly, but Lan Feng was so shocked that he could not speak.
"Xuan, Elder Xuanzhi?" Lanfeng called softly, but the latter did not respond to him.
Lanfeng bravely climbed up to Xuan Ce and wanted to pat him, but as soon as his hand touched Xuan Ce's body, Xuan Ce turned into smoke and dissipated little by little...
Lan Feng was at a loss when he saw a piece of yellow paper slipping from the body's arms and falling to the ground. He picked up the yellow paper and turned it over to take a look. In an instant, Lan Feng's Buddha mind suddenly collapsed!
There were only six words on the yellow paper - Tripitaka died, Golden Cicada Buddha!
And the handwriting of these six words is exactly the same as the previous handwriting on the transcript!
At this time, Long Xiao's words rang in Lan Feng's ears again: "Jin Chanzi cultivated into a meritorious Buddha in ten lifetimes. But what about Tang Sanzang?"
I understand everything. With these clues coming into my mind, how could Lan Feng not understand what these six words mean?
A hundred and eighty thousand miles of clouds and moons, fourteen years of eating wind and drinking dew, thirty-three calamities and ninety-nine disasters, yet I made a wedding dress for someone else!
Master Tripitaka is not afraid of going on a single-plank bridge! How is he afraid of going on a bottomless boat? He is just unwilling to spend his whole life praying for Buddha, but was deceived by the Tathagata into becoming Jin Chanzi's wedding dress...
He swore an oath in front of the Emperor of Tang Dynasty and obtained the scriptures to save the world, but in the end he discovered that he could not even save himself.
All that's left is the false reputation that Jin Chanzi left him.
Kui Mulang said: "Little master, this is the truth..."
"The truth?!" Lan Feng smiled bitterly, but unknowingly shed bitter tears. He roared angrily, "I was born by the Tongtian River, and the people in the fishing village worshiped Guanyin Bodhisattva all their lives. But when the monsters slaughtered the village, where was Guanyin? I came
In this Jinshan Temple, my masters and brothers have treated me well in every possible way. Fortunately, I can only repay the favor by worshiping the Buddha. I spent many cold nights studying hard in this sutra pavilion, looking for a way to save the world. But now?
Now you tell me that all this is false! What is the purpose of the Journey to the West? Master Tripitaka has walked through mountains and rivers, but in exchange for it is just a false name?
Did the golden cicada save the world? Did the true scriptures save the world? The people worshiped the gods and Buddhas every day, but they were still preyed upon by the officials and the powerful. Tell me, where is the Buddha?!"
Lanfeng's emotions fluctuated, and he pointed at the body and said, "Do you know where the elder Xuanzhi who just turned into smoke came from?"
"After Jin Chanzi entrusted his body to me, it transformed into Monk Xuanzhai. I only think it was Jin Chanzi who used the magic so that Master Sanzang could continue to stay in the world to help people," Kuimulang said.
"Hahaha!!" Lan Feng laughed miserably, "He can't even overcome it himself. This mysterious test is just the obsession of Master Sanzang. Now he feels that this record has been read by others, and he knows that someone has understood the truth.
, then I came to let go of my obsession..."
Kui Mulang sat next to Lan Feng for a long time. He sighed and asked, "Little master, what are you going to do now? If someone else finds out that you are here with this body, I'm afraid it won't be possible to escape the connection."
Lan Feng's face was ashen at this time. He took the Tripitaka record and put it in the body's arms, but tore up the yellow paper. He said: "The sea of suffering has no end, and the Buddha cannot save the world... This body, please
Donor, please carry him to Master Xuanzhai's room. The obsession is gone, and there is no need for the benefactor to protect him anymore..."
Kuimulang nodded, loaded his body on his back and jumped down from the window. Lanfeng got up and walked to the window, looking at the snowflakes flying outside the Sutra Pavilion and the poor people outside the Han Temple.
Early the next morning, another person was heard shouting in the temple: "It's not good!! Elder Xuanzhai has passed away!!"
At that time, a group of monks gathered in front of the elder's room one after another. After the two masters of Kongxiang and Dakini confirmed the physical body, they found someone to set up firewood.
The sound of sutras echoed in the heavy snow, and Lanfeng knelt down in the snow to recite sutras. Jingguo saw that this junior brother who never chanted sutras and worshiped Buddha on weekdays actually started to recite sutras today, so he asked: "Junior junior brother, I finally see you reciting sutras today."
Okay. Elder Xuanzhai has lived for more than five hundred years, and it is not easy for him to drive to Hexi today. I heard that he still has the records of Master Tripitaka in his arms."
"He is the same as Master Tripitaka back then. He had to let go of his attachments only after he had them." Lan Feng said.
Jingguo was confused when she heard this: "Why do I feel like you know a lot of things, little junior brother? Could it be that you have learned something from the scriptures on the sixth floor?"
Lanfeng looked at the raging fire in front of him and smiled bitterly: "Senior brother, there is no need to read that scripture. I will return to my hometown in a while..."
When Jingguo heard that Lan Feng was leaving, she hurriedly asked, "Junior brother, are you leaving so soon?"
Before Lan Feng could answer, the monks on the side screamed in surprise. Lan Feng looked at the fire and saw the fire power emitting light. Seeing this, Kong Xiang nodded to Kong Xing. The two of them put their hands together and raised two rosary beads on their chests.
The rosary floated above the fire out of thin air, sucking up the light thing.
The two monks waved their hands, and only then did everyone see that they were thirteen Buddha's light relics.
"Amitabha..." Kong Xiang accepted the relics and said, "The mysterious monk passed away today, and you will be in bliss. All disciples will continue to recite the Heart Sutra to see each other off!"
The fire burned for an hour, and when the light faded out, Kong Xiang walked to Lanfeng and took out the Tripitaka Notes from his arms and said: "Lanfeng, Elder Xuanzhi looked at you very seriously when he was alive, so this note will
Pass it on to you."
Lan Feng declined politely: "Master, this record is an obsession. Only by letting go of obsession can we be freed. It's better to put this record in the Sutra Pavilion."
Kong Xiang nodded after hearing this. He looked into Lan Feng's eyes and suddenly felt that the clarity and firmness in his blue eyes were missing. He asked again: "When will you leave?"
Lan Feng said: "Before and after the Qingming Festival..." After saying that, Lan Feng turned and left.
But Jingguo said anxiously: "Master, you knew he was leaving, why didn't you keep him?"
