Chapter 14 The Truth About Daddy
It is said that when Jiang Ling was sent back to Mingshan Village by Jinwen, it was already three o'clock.
The lights should have been turned off in Mingshan Village, but now the village is clamoring and making a lot of noise.
Jinwen hugged Jiang Ling, secretly avoided the crowd, and walked around to Jiang Ling's doorstep. Only then did he realize that Jiang Ling's house was in chaos.
He pricked up his ears and listened carefully for a while before he realized that the letter he sent was in trouble.
Jinwen left a letter to Jiang's mother without any pen, ink, paper and inkstone. Er could not show up directly and talk about where Jiang's mother Jiang Ling was going. He wandered around outside the village for a long time before coming up with a good idea.
He turned into a human form and walked outside the Jiang family courtyard, shouting: "Jiang Ling has gone to my house to play, come back later."
This was right, but he didn't know that Jiang Ling and Jiang's mother had something unhappy and ran away from the house.
The sky was already dark, and Jiang's mother was worried about Jiang Ling's place. When she heard this shout, she hurried out of the house, but she didn't see anyone, and she couldn't help but wonder.
Her mind flashed through the lake fairy mentioned by Jiang Ling, and her heart suddenly rose up. Then she could no longer sit still. She closed the door and left the house, asking whether Jiang Ling was staying at their home. This question was amazing. Jiang's mother only asked dry mouth and sweating profusely, but until the whole village was alarmed, no one left Jiang Ling to play at home.
Jiang's mother oh oh pounded her heart, blaming herself for not coaxing Jiang Ling and letting her run away with anger. She must have been stuck now. When the neighbors heard the whole story, they hurriedly carried the lantern to search, searched for firewood piles, and climbed over heavy snow piles, but couldn't find Jiang Ling's whereabouts. Jiang's mother was even more anxious and hated that she wouldn't find someone to eliminate evil spirits for Jiang Ling earlier.
When Jinwen arrived in the village, most of the villagers scattered outside the village to look for Jiang Ling. Instead, Jiang Ling's family became empty, leaving only a few village women to comfort Jiang's mother in a low voice.
Qi Zhao saw that the momentum was wrong and wanted to throw Jiang Ling away from the village and wait for the villagers to find him.
Jin Wen was anxious when he heard this and said, "If they can't find Jiang Ling for a while, what should we do if they freeze Jiang Ling?"
Qi Zhao said hurriedly: "Now is not the time to worry about her. If we are exposed, let alone whether we can escape, even if we escape back, the Fox King will not give you good fruits!"
Jinwen stubbornly refused to let go, Qi Zhao had no choice but to slash his neck with one knife, slashing him to the ground with dizziness and fainting.
Qi Zhao hugged Jiang Ling with one hand and Jin Wen with the other. The three of them came to a firewood pile outside the village. While the villagers were not paying attention, they stuffed Jiang Ling half inside and shouted again: "There are people here!"
The lights immediately rushed towards this side. Qi Zhao's goal had been achieved, so he carried Jinwen on his shoulders and ran into the forest quickly.
When the villagers saw Jiang Ling in the firewood pile, they all looked very happy. One person stepped forward and dragged Jiang Ling out, took a few breaths of his nose, and suddenly shouted: "No, why does she smell such a big wine?"
Jiang Ling was taken to the entrance of the village by the villagers.
Everyone saw Jiang Ling’s face was red, her eyes were closed tightly, and her nose was sucking and exhaling, as if she was just asleep.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief and sent Jiang Ling home.
Jiang's mother had already received the letter and grabbed the fence at the door and waited for Jiang Ling to come back. Seeing that Jiang Ling was being held by someone, she seemed to be fine, and her heart finally fell down.
But as soon as she entered Jiang Ling's body, she also smelled the smell of alcohol that was blown by the wind and did not dissipate.
"Ling'er, why does Ling'er smell alcohol?"
She asked in a daze, and hurriedly grabbed Jiang Ling's arms and legs to see, but she really couldn't tell the serious injury. But everyone couldn't tell a reason, just saying that it was like this when she found her.
Jiang's mother held back the doubts in her heart and said it to the villagers several times before being persuaded to go back to the house.
On the second day, Jiang Ling slept until the sun was noon before waking up. As soon as he opened his eyes, he met Jiang's mother's crying eyes.
Jiang Ling felt that his throat was so dry and painful, so she gently called out to her mother. Jiang's mother asked about her well-being with heartache, and she served water and food, for fear that Jiang Ling would feel uncomfortable.
After the meal, Jiang's mother looked at Jiang Ling with pity, blamed her for leaving without saying a word, which scared her. She told her about what happened last night and told her to thank her neighbors today.
Jiang Ling's empty brain was immediately like lightning because of drinking, remembering the unusual thing that happened yesterday.
She asked nervously, “How did I come back?”
Jiang's mother angrily said, "You slept in the firewood pile. If someone hadn't discovered it, your mother might not have seen you. Ling'er, you can't act casually anymore. You really scared your mother."
Jiang Ling thought it was okay, but Jiang's mother's words made her nervously sweat.
Jiang's mother asked, "You were covered in alcohol yesterday. Could it be that you ran to somewhere to steal the wine?"
How can Jiang Ling answer?
She quickly changed the subject and mentioned her father's affairs again.
After yesterday's trouble, Jiang's mother realized that Jiang Ling was indeed not young, so she lost her previous defenses about her father's affairs.
She sighed and said slowly, "Your father is not dead."
Jiang Ling was happy when she heard this and asked, "Where has Dad been?"
Jiang's mother sighed again and said, "I thought you were young and didn't want to tell you about these things, but you, a child, have to know them."
Jiang Ling pouted embarrassedly and said, "Ling'er also wants to have a father."
Jiang's mother said, "Your father is not a person from this village. He was originally a wanderer and prodigal son. One day he passed by here, and when he saw your mother and me, he asked your grandfather to marry him."
"Of course your grandfather didn't agree, so your father stood outside the door for three days and two nights, forcing your grandfather to meet him. Your father said he wanted to stay in the village and take care of me. My true confession moved me, and he married your father despite the opposition of your grandfather."
"But your father, shortly after you gave birth, he said he was tired of the days here, and put his bag on his bag again, and he went there. His grandfather was so angry that he was seriously ill and went there in a few months. My brother, your uncle, also cut off contact, and not long after, he actually fell ill and went there."
"I was so embarrassed and angry that I wanted to die several times. If Ling'er hadn't kicked me in the stomach, I would have gone with your grandfather and your uncle."
Jiang's mother was crying while talking, but she couldn't choke when she said this. Jiang Ling's heart was shocked and hugged Jiang's mother's arm. The mother and daughter cried to each other.
Jiang's mother held back the grief and forced herself to say, "After giving birth to you, my mother doesn't want you to hear about your father again, so that the neighbors can make an agreement, saying that your father has passed away long ago, so that you can save you from growing up and resentment."
She held her daughter's beautiful little face and said lovingly: "Ling'er, don't leave her mother."
