Chapter 12 Corleone's Dream

Corion's expression became a little serious. He looked directly at Rambo, with a faint smile on his lips, and said in a low tone: "Rambo, we are not qualified to doubt the head of the family. You have been following him for several years. Do you even understand this principle?"

When Rambo heard Corion's words, he was shocked. Because Eugen was approachable and had no airs, this made the difference between their status when they were together not so obvious.

Over time, Rambo got used to this state and became a little lost. If Corion hadn't reminded him at this moment, he might have had some offensive behaviors.

In fact, no matter what problems Eugen has, he is not qualified to guess and comment.

After understanding these situations, Rambo was already sweating profusely. He looked at Corion with gratitude and whispered: "You are right, I've crossed the line a little, thank you for the reminder."

Corion didn't say anything anymore, but walked straight into the castle. Rambo's mind was faster than he did, but sometimes he could think too much. In this case, he didn't need to say more. Just mention it a little, and Rambo would understand.

It was July, and the castle was still a bit stuffy in the evening. Viscount Darmotst arranged the dinner on the open-air castle courtyard. A wide curtain was built around it with gauze, which was both ventilated and breathable, without being restricted.

On the flower beds in the center and corners of the courtyard, ice cubes just taken out of the cellar are piled up to regulate the surrounding temperature. These ice cubes are transported from the northern region. The personnel responsible for transportation only rush to the middle of the night. The ice cubes are piled in characteristic boxes to prevent heat loss, and the outer layer is wrapped in water-stained quilts.

Each process of transportation is responsible for, and no mistakes can occur. If the ice cubes turn into ice water halfway, all efforts will be in vain.

And all these tedious tasks are nothing more than giving the cool pleasure to the nobles in the south in summer.

When Eugen came in, there were already long tables in the courtyard neatly arranged. The long table was carved from a whole piece of milky white marble. The legs of the table looked like a strongman, and his hands were upward to support the entire table. The side eaves of the table were carved with lions, angels and flowers.

The foreshadowing on the table is made of white velvet, and the feeling of reaching out and touching is as tender as a baby's skin. The ceramic candlestick from the far east is graceful and grand, standing tall like a girl in the middle of the long table. The candlelight shines on the candlestick, and the gilded pattern reflects dazzling light.

When Rambo and Corion walked in, the food had been placed on the long table and the band played the accompaniment of the dinner.

As Eugen's retainer and the Knights of Habsburg, the two of them are qualified to attend some banquets of high quality. But even so, the specifications of this banquet can be considered as the top priority in their impression.

"This Viscount Darmttast of Fort Cassel is really generous. It seems that he is really preparing for this banquet seriously." Rambo glanced at the food on the banquet table and whispered to Corion standing beside him.

Corion nodded, glanced casually, and said as if he was a newspaper menu: "It's really good. Byrne's kale rolls and veal sausage, Baden cured meat, almond cakes on the Rhine, almond sugar from the north, and special Berlin flavored beer."

When talking about beer, Corion slightly heaviered his tone, and his Adam's apple rolled and swallowed.

Rambo looked at Corion with surprise as if he had discovered the New World, and smiled with a teasing voice: "Oh, hey, it's not bad. You know a lot about food."

Corion was still staring at the Berlin beer on the table. Facing Rambo's joke, he just said carelessly: "Oh, this is nothing. Before becoming a knight, my dream is to be a chef."

"What? Puchi... Cough cough... You? Chef?" Rambo was taking a bunch of grapes from the table and putting them in his mouth when he suddenly heard Corion's words, and he choked him in shock. A grape seed stuck near his throat, making him extremely uncomfortable.

After finally coughing out the grape seeds and straightening the breath. Rambo then looked at Corion indirectly, looking up and down at him, wondering if he had heard it wrongly just now.

This eight-foot-tall warrior, cold-looking and cruel personality, is to kill the embryo, and his dream is to be a chef. The contrast is too strong.

"Why, don't you look like this?" Corion himself didn't realize the problem at all, and asked Rambo with interest.

Rambo imagined Corion as a chef and couldn't help but shivered all over, then shook his head quickly and said, "No... it's different. If you say you're a pig-killing butcher, I can understand it. If you go to be a chef, I'm afraid you will poison the food."

Hearing Rambo's comment, Corion's face showed a hint of melancholy expression, like a sad minstrel. Seeing him like this, Rambo felt even more uncomfortable, so he hurriedly said, "Okay, don't think about being a chef, let's have a glass of cold beer, what do you think?"

Rambo's proposal was right in his mind, but Corion's face had no expression, but his eyes lit up in an instant. Corion nodded, and then approached the beer can.

At this dinner, only those who won the knight title in Eugen's troops could attend, while other ordinary soldiers had other arrangements.

In addition to Eugen and others, the participants of the banquet also included upper class people from the entire Kassel region. There were imperial nobles passing by, priests from the diocese, rich people in the region, and those well-born and well-educated socialites.

In this way, the total number of people is very considerable. Fortunately, Viscount Damtast was foresighted and arranged the banquet in the courtyard. Otherwise, it would inevitably appear very crowded.

Almost all local guests hope to meet General Eugen from other places at this banquet. After all, the name of Habsburg can be said to be well-known throughout the Holy Roman Empire.

Therefore, at the beginning of the banquet, after listening to Viscount Darmtst's clichés such as celebrating victory and long live the empire, many people gathered next to Eugen, wanting to find someone to introduce Eugen.

In desperation, Viscount Damtest had to take on the job, and he introduced the local celebrity to Eugen.
