Chapter 189 Educational methods are very important

"The Academy should not be in the city."

This is what Zhao Kuo said to Xunzi on the way to inspect.

In Zhao Kuo's view, what is the most important responsibility of the Academy?

The first one is of course a hundred schools of thought. What is the final result of the controversy?

It is to make the culture of China more brilliant.

It is not enough to be brilliant in culture alone. As a time traveler, Zhao Kuo knew very clearly the importance of inheritance. Only China is the only civilization that has been completely inherited in the four ancient civilizations in the world, not to mention the Mayan, Inca and other civilizations that have a long history but have been lost.

The best way to pass on is to teach disciples. Only by inheriting masters and apprentices can we continue to learn from generation to generation.

"Where you do your studies, of course, you must stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city."

Xunzi also agrees deeply about this.

Zhao Kuo paused and said, "By the way, I forgot something before, and I must make up for it this time.

Any scholar who lives in various schools of thought, as long as he receives our Da Zhao salary and title, must receive more than ten formal disciples!"

This condition seems not difficult, but it makes Xunzi's face look unhappy: "Wu Xinjun, this matter is probably a bit difficult to deal with."

Zhao Kuo shook his head and said firmly: "Grand Priest, this matter must be done!"

As I just said, the most important thing about knowledge is inheritance, but over the years, many ancient books in China still have lost their inheritance over time. One of the important reasons is the system of recruiting apprentices by these ancient scholars.

What people most often know in later generations is Confucius. Confucius had more than 3,000 students in his life, including 72 formal disciples. This made people subconsciously think that the ancient schools of thought were the same as Confucius, but it was not.

In fact, in this era, great scholars like Confucius who widely accepted disciples were actually aliens among the different kinds.

What is the most important thing in the world?

It's a talent.

What is the definition of talent?

Knowledgeable people.

Therefore, knowledge is the most important thing.

The powerful people of various schools of thought are very clear about the importance of having knowledge. In their minds, this knowledge is equivalent to the martial arts secrets of their own sects. How can they be passed on to others at will?

It must be passed to the disciples who entered the house, or even to the only heir.

This actually brings a problem, that is, each generation of knowledge is only passed on to two or three or even one person, and during the long years, the inheritance of this knowledge will be cut off.

The loss of most precious ancient books in Chinese history is because the writers and owners of these ancient books attach too much importance to ancient books, and they are reluctant to teach them to others. This leads to the fact that ancient books are often isolated, and once they are gone, they will be completely gone.

The solution to this problem is very simple, that is, the method proposed by Zhao Kuo - to recruit more students! Just like Confucianism, Confucius had 72 disciples and 3,000 disciples. What is the concept of this number?

At its peak, the number of people from all other schools of thought except Confucianism was almost the same as those of Confucius' disciples.

Since Confucius's idea was to "have a teaching without distinction", his disciples and disciples also recruited many disciples. The third generation of Confucian disciples exceeded 10,000, and the fourth generation exceeded 100,000, leaving all other schools of thought behind far behind.

The result of this expansion from generation to generation is that Confucianism has not been adopted by any country now, but there are Confucian disciples everywhere in the world, and scholars who recite Confucius' quotations everywhere.

It is precisely because of this educational model of Confucianism that there are Xihe School, Lu Confucianism, Gongyang School, Guliang School, etc. Many schools, and disciples with various different opinions are constantly exploring Confucianism, making the development of Confucianism far exceed other sects. After Confucius, two super powers, Mencius and Xunzi, were successively emerged.

Even Han Fei, the last powerful in the Hundred Schools of Contesting in the Hundred Schools, who was named "Collection of the Leaders of Hundred Schools of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period", was a member of the Legal Family, but he was also a disciple educated by the Confucian master Xunzi.

This is the superiority brought to Confucianism by the educational method. Confucius's educational method, which widely recruits disciples and teaches, is absolutely advanced and invaluable in this era.

It is true that there were many controversies in later Confucianism, but Zhao Kuo thought there was one sentence that made sense, that is, "take the essence and remove the dross."

We just need to use all good things, whether they are Confucianism or Mohism.

All the bad things, whether they are Confucian Legalists or Mohists, will be eliminated.

This is the most practical and most useful method for this era and the entire China.

After listening to Zhao Kuo’s thoughts, Xunqiu couldn’t help but exclaim: “It’s really rare that Wu Xinjun agreed with Master’s educational thoughts so much.”

Li Si and Han Fei who were following the side were also excited.

Being a minister depends on what kind of lord he is.

Although his lord is young, he has the world in mind. What is even more commendable is that he is not only thinking about hegemony and conquest, but also about culture and inheritance. What is often left aside by the rulers of the Warring States Period who only pay attention to interests. This is what is truly admirable.

Li Si whispered: "Han Fei, did you see it?"

I said it long ago, we didn’t follow the wrong person.”

Han Fei took a deep breath and nodded vigorously.

At this moment, in the hearts of these two young heroes, the evaluation of the lord Zhao Kuo was infinitely higher! Zhao Kuo did not hear the whispers of Li Si and Han Fei behind him, but was talking to Xunzi with a smile on his face: "The great priest is praised by the wine.

In fact, in addition to choosing a location for the academy today, there is another very important thing that I also want to discuss with the high priest.”

Xuncun was in a good mood and immediately smiled and said, "Please wait for the truth, but Xuncun dared not obey his orders."

Zhao Kuo cleared his throat and said, "That's right. Recently, a group of various schools of thought came from Qin to join my Great Zhao, and happened to be worshipped by my marquis.

They also hope to enter the new academy in the future to preach and teach and answer questions, so I want to discuss with the high priest."

Xunqiu smiled and said, "It turns out to be the Legalist of Qin. Please rest assured. Although the Legalist has some disputes with me, the Legalist is also a master of the times. My Confucianism has not ruled out dissidents to this extent."

Zhao Kuo shook his head and said seriously: "It's not the Legalists, it's a branch of the Mohist family in Qin."

Yes, there has been a response to the fact that Zhao Kuo asked Mao Sui to follow Lu Buwei back to Qin and secretly led the contacts. According to the latest information, more than 100 Mo people from Qin had crossed the Yellow River and entered the territory of Hedong County of Zhao, and were heading towards Handan day and night.

The Mohist school was also a very important piece for Zhao Kuo. The Mohist school's achievements in physics were that Zhao Kuo believed that the school that was most suitable for helping him improve his Chinese science and technology level. Therefore, Zhao Kuo of course wanted the Mohist school to enter the academy.

"Mo family?"

Xunzi was stunned for a moment, and the smile on her face disappeared instantly.
