586 Steady and Steady

In the 14th week of the regular season, the war ignited again!

Green Bay Packers have been at Blue Fort Stadium for the second consecutive week, facing Houston Texans who belong to the American South.

Founded in 1999 and officially joined the league in 2002, Houston Texans are the youngest team in the league. In the team's short six seasons history, they have never entered the playoffs. They are definitely an absolute young team, still exploring the rhythm of the professional league.

To be precise, Houston Texans are not even able to determine their team building philosophy.

In 2002, the Houston Texans welcomed their first head coach, Dom-Capers, the former offensive coordinator of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Although he defeated the Dallas Cowboys on the league's debut and became the first league new team to win its first victory in the league's 41 years history, his terrible offensive front line is a nightmare, releasing 76 sacks throughout the season, setting a record high.

In the end, the first season ended with only four wins and twelve losses.

The nightmare is still not over. In 2003, there were five victories; in 2004, there were seven victories; in 2005, there were two victories.

In the past four seasons, the Houston Texans under Capers were not even able to win a season with a winning rate of 50%. In the end, Capers was swept out and the entire coaching staff was also cleaned up.

In 2006, the Houston Texans welcomed new head coach Gary Kubiak, the Denver Broncos offensive coordinator who followed the team to the Super Bowl twice and was hailed as one of the best offensive coordinators of his time. The team also looks forward to Kubiak's miracle.

However, there was a huge disagreement between Kubiak and team manager Charley Casserly, and a group of defensive players were selected for important draft picks, especially the No. 1 pick defensive end Mario Williams (ms), who has suffered numerous criticisms.

Although Keselli announced his resignation after the draft, Rick-Smith, also from the Denver Broncos, took over quickly, but he still could not change the draft results, which also made Kubiak fall into a dilemma of being unable to cook without rice.

In 2006, six victories.

In 2007, eight wins - this is the first season in the history of the Houston Texans team with a winning rate of more than 50%, and improvements can be seen on both offense and defense.

However, the most serious problem is that because of the chaos in the draft and the vague team building concept, we still haven't been able to clarify our ideas in six seasons. Neither Capers nor Kubiak's offensive system can be truly established, and the Houston Texans' game style has been unable to be formed.

In terms of offense, offense is far from being the top. Quarterback David Carr performed mediocrely and wasted the talent of wide receiver Andre Johnson; last season, the Houston Texans finally decided to give up David Carr and got Matt Schaub as the starting quarterback from the Atlanta Falcons exchange, hoping to improve the offense.

In terms of defense, the performance is normal, the tactical system is not clear enough, and it always falls off at critical moments. However, many times, we have to rely on the defensive team's inspiration to save the field in a flash. The defensive front-line performance is also confusing, just like Duan Yu's six-mechanical sword in the "Tianlong Ba Division".

How should we evaluate this young team?

Confusion and confusion. There is still a little confusion.

Perhaps, this is the most accurate word.

In 2008, the performance of Houston Texans was still very ups and downs, comparable to a roller coaster, and the thrilling season journey was a serious test for the heart:

Starting with four consecutive losses, all the games that should have lost and should not have lost were lost; then they won three consecutive victories, of which the game "29:28" defeated the Miami Dolphins who were in good shape this season was exciting.

Then there were three consecutive defeats, facing strong enemies three times and suffered a crushing defeat; then they defeated two weak teams, Cleveland Brown and Jacksonville Jaguars, ushering in a two-game winning streak.

From losing streak to winning streak to losing streak, everything comes in waves, just like a shock wave. After a period of accumulation of strength, it will be exhausted and weakened for a while, waiting for the next time to accumulate strength. The ups and downs of the season have left Houston fans suffering from severe tests of their mentality.

The current record of five wins and seven losses has already announced that the team missed the playoffs in advance, but the Houston Texans are not the ones who become the bottom team that anyone can bully, like the Detroit Lions, Kansas Chiefs, and St. Louis Rams. They still have certain competitiveness and are in the middle of the 32 teams in the league.

However, even Kubiak, as the head coach, may not be able to explain how much energy such competitiveness can burst out and what conditions are needed to trigger it.

This week, the Houston Texans and the Green Bay Packers attracted a lot of attention. The five-win, seven-win and six-win matches are indeed full of suspense. One will lose the hope of the playoffs, and the other will stand on the edge of the cliff that lost the playoffs. Both sides are half a dozen, and whoever loses should win or win should be the expected result.

The views of professional analysts in the industry are also equally divided. It is generally believed that this will be a game with close strength. The performance of both sides is crucial. The morale Green Bay Packers may have a little advantage, but the Houston Texans, who have just completed two consecutive victories, should still be in the "explosion period" and no one can predict it.

The actual game progress also proves this.

In the first half, the two teams were indeed hard to tell.

Both sides showed good states on both offense and defense. Kubiak's tactics are more stable and heavy, and the ground offense and pass off are balanced, which can always create threats; Lu Yiqi's tactics are more agile and weird, and the endless rhythm changes have caused the opponent's defense team to suffer and have repeatedly made large-yard advances.

Kubiak and Lu Yiqi are both coaches who are good at offense and are also good at cracking the opponent's defense. The back and forth confrontations have made exciting passages of the game frequently; and the defensive teams of both teams have also contributed a lot of outstanding performances, and the fierce sparks of tit-for-tat did not allow the offensive team to enjoy the spotlight.

Compared with the offensive battle that is mercury and destroyed, the two teams have shown certain abilities on both ends of the offense and defense. The offensive and defensive situation of rapid back and forth is more intense, more exciting, and more thrilling. Strong collisions are endless, and wonderful clips run through the whole process. This is much more exciting than the crushing offensive battle.

Games and tactics, layout and confrontation, the two teams with similar strength have indeed shown all their strength, which makes people applaud.
