303 Retirement Storm

Now, Andy Reed is the head coach of the Philadelphia Hawks, and Mike Homegren is the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, in other words, they are competitors of the Green Bay Packers.

During the offseason, it is common for competitors to inquire about each other and release smoke bombs. Therefore, although Reed and Homgren recommended Lu Yiqi to the Green Bay Packers, they still know very little about changes in Lu Yiqi, Thompson and the packers' internal personnel.

The only thing that can be confirmed is that there have been some changes in the Green Bay Packers coaching staff, but it is impossible to draw a conclusion on how it will develop for the time being.

Lu Yiqi, who returned to Manhattan, had to keep his patience for the time being and make a choice:

On the one hand, he must wait for follow-up news from Green Bay; on the other hand, he must also give the university team a reply as soon as possible. Fish and bear's paw cannot be both.

If you are sure to choose Green Bay, then you will immediately refuse the invitation from the university team so that they can free up their hands to find other coach candidates. This is the correct way to deal with it; but the news feedback from Green Bay is not that fast, and Lu Yiqi is in a hurry here and it is useless.

So, how should we balance it? This is a difficult problem. If you don’t pay attention, you may face the result of being in vain.

Fortunately, Lu Yiqi only waited for a week - although every day was full of anxiety, the news was updated in time and brought positive signals:

38-year-old Brett Favre officially announced his retirement.

At the press conference, Fafer, whose temples were gray, left tears and repeatedly said that retiring was only his personal decision, and the packer did not let him do this. "I know I can still fight, but I don't think I am willing to do this, not because my body cannot withstand professional level confrontation, but mental fatigue. In the final analysis, this is how it is."

During the interview, Fafer said:

Although he still enjoys three hours of standing on the court every Sunday, the endless training and pre-match preparations every week, as well as the long offseason training camp, made it hard for him to bear at the age of 38. When he could no longer continue to devote himself to the game, he felt that the time was coming.

Although in the past few seasons, the topic of discussion about whether Favre retired has become the key news for the Green Bay Packers in the past few seasons. There are even many rumors that Favre continues to grit his teeth and persevere is to break a series of quarterback records in the NFL.

But when Fafer truly announced his retirement, it caused a sense of shock and regret. Especially at the press conference, Fafer, who was crying, was filled with sadness and reluctance from a hero, which was very sad.

When Brett Favre turned and left the professional arena, he brought a series of brilliant league history records with a total number of passing yards, number of passing touchdowns, consecutive starts, winning games, number of seasons with 3,000 yards, number of seasons with 30 touchdowns, number of regular season MVP times, number of pass attempts and number of pass successes, and other series of brilliant league history records, putting a perfect end to his career.

Of course, there is also the embarrassing record of the most interceptions in history, which also belongs to the legendary quarterback.

The retirement press conference has just ended, and the call for "Fafer is about to be inducted into the Hall of Fame" can be heard in the league, and the call for "Fafer No. 4 jersey" can also be heard in the Green Bay. Even if he turns around and leaves, Fafer is still surrounded by flowers and applause, proving how brilliant and magnificent his career is.

And for Lu Yiqi, the situation gradually became clear:

Favre chose to retire, and team manager Thompson must be the first to know the news, so Homgren's recommendation and Lu Yiqi's interview appeared.

Green Bay needs a brand new quarterback coach to work with Rodgers; say goodbye to Favre and officially kickstart the curtain of the Rodgers era. Everything starts from scratch.

Sure enough!

After the press conference on Favre's retirement, Thompson had a second telephone interview with Lu Yiqi. Head coach Mike McCarthy also participated in the interview and discussed issues related to passing tactics and daily training of quarterbacks in all aspects.

After the phone call, Thompson gave a verbal confirmation: Welcome Lu Yiqi to join Green Bay.

However, Lu Yiqi will not join Green Bay's offseason work for the time being. They will be the first to complete the draft and then determine the schedule of the offseason training camp. When the training camp officially opens, Lu Yiqi will officially join the Packers' coaching team. If nothing unexpected happens, it should be in mid-to-late May.

In other words, it is not Lu Yiqi's turn to participate in the draft and free market screening and changing work. His initial task is to lead the Packers' quarterbacks to conduct daily training.

Despite this, Lu Yiqi's new work has finally been determined:

Entering the NFL from the NCAA, he found a position among professional teams for the first time. For the coach who is only 29 years old, there is a bright future. What's more, Lu Yiqi is still a Chinese, which is even more valuable. This is undoubtedly an important breakthrough in Lu Yiqi's career.

The official Green Bay Packers has not announced the news yet. We will announce the list of newly added members to the coaching team when the training camp begins.

So Lu Yiqi also kept a low profile, only Augustus knew the news, while others kept it confidential for the time being.

He rejected invitations from Auburn University, Stanford University and Michigan State University, and Lu Yiqi politely expressed his gratitude one by one; then he began to retreat and focused on studying the game video of Green Bay Packers.

The NFL and the NCAA are two different things after all. Those tactics can be easily successful in the NCAA, but not necessarily in the NFL. Moreover, the quarterback's tactical system is more complicated, not to mention that Lu Yiqi is about to cooperate with Rogers, which makes Lu Yiqi unable to help but look forward to it.

I don’t know what level of Rogers, who is still young and immature, is, how many abilities he possesses, and how much talent potential he can tap into. Can he burst out with more dazzling light under the guidance of his "prophet"? Or... directly in his hands?

With full expectations, this also means that Lu Yiqi still has a lot of preparations to be completed.

Just as everything was developing on the expected track, an accident occurred.

Brett Favre was interviewed by Fox TV and publicly stated that he "regrets that he had proposed retirement so early" and emphasized that "he has never formally proposed retirement."

The entire league was full of question marks: So, what happened to the retirement press conference? Is it Barbie's house play game?

The Green Bay Packers couldn't help but swear: Did you feed your tears to the dog? Did you know that your deep feelings were in vain?
