1959, Thief of Time(3/4)

When passing by the playground of the welfare home, he saw the children in the welfare home doing morning exercises with the staff. Zhao Junbo's nose felt sour, and a few tears suddenly came out of his eyes.

Arriving at the door of the dean's office, Gu Chen knocked on the door three times and found that the office door was not locked.

Through the gap in the door, Gu Chen saw Liu Shufen combing her hair there and seemed to be carefully applying her makeup.

Hearing the sound of the office door, Liu Shufen looked up and saw that Gu Chen was already standing at the door.

"Oh, Officer Gu, you're so early." Seeing this, the white-haired Liu Shufen quickly put the comb and mirror into the drawer, then arranged her clothes and stood up to greet them.

"Dean Liu, look who this is?" Gu Chen didn't waste any more nonsense. He also communicated the unnecessary nonsense on the phone.

Therefore, Gu Chen went straight to the point and took the initiative to give up his position.

At this moment, Zhao Junbo, who looked haggard, immediately wiped the tears from the corners of his eyes and tried to calm down. Then he walked up to Liu Shufen and said, "Mother Liu."

"Zhao...Zhao Junbo? Is it really you? Zhao Junbo?" Looking at the middle-aged man in front of her, Liu Shufen was stunned for a few seconds. She also looked at Zhao Junbo's appearance repeatedly, trying to recall what she had in her memory.

Zhao Junbo's appearance.

Zhao Junbo grinned and joked to himself: "I am the Zhao Junbo who was adopted twice and returned to adoptive families twice. Mother Liu, you... you are old and your hair is gray."

After saying this, Zhao Junbo's nose became sour, and his tears could no longer be suppressed and fell to the ground.

Liu Shufen was stunned for a few seconds, then wiped the tears of excitement from the corner of her eyes, held Zhao Junbo's arm with a forced smile, and said with choked sobs:

"You kid, you haven't come to visit your mother Liu for so many years. Look at me, my hair has turned white like this for so many years. I'm old and I won't live for a few more years."

Trying to wipe away her tears, Liu Shufen patted Zhao Junbo's arm and complained somewhat: "You said you send so much money anonymously to our welfare home every year, but why don't you come back and see?"

"Haha." After hearing Liu Shufen's words, Zhao Junbo also laughed dryly and sighed:

"I'm not doing well, so I don't dare to come see you."

"Look what you said." Liu Shufen smiled bitterly.

Seeing everyone standing there, she hurriedly greeted them: "Don't stand still, everyone. Hurry up and sit down. I'll make tea for you."

"No need, Dean Liu, just drink some boiled water, no need to make tea." Lu Weiwei said.

But Liu Shufen refused to listen and insisted on taking out the best tea leaves in her collection and began to make tea for several people.

Everyone is sitting on the old sofa in this old office.

Liu Shufen and Zhao Junbo were sitting together, holding hands and neither seemed willing to let go of each other.

Liu Shufen also complained and said: "You said you, kid, won't come back if you don't do well? This is your home. You came out of our Haitian Orphanage. Is it important whether you have a future or not? It's not important."

"

"Although our Haitian Welfare Institute has graduated several college students who graduated from prestigious universities, not everyone can become such a person."

"Even if you are not good at studying, there are still people who become entrepreneurs. Even if you are not an entrepreneur, being able to live well and live happily is more important than anything else."

At the end of her speech, Liu Shufen suddenly lost control of her emotions and burst into tears.

"Can you stop crying? It's been almost 20 years since you left Haitian Welfare Institution. Where have you been in the past 20 years?"

"Other children who go out will come back to see you every Chinese New Year, but what I look forward to and look forward to is that you can't appear."

After sniffing, Liu Shufen also choked and said: "I thought you ran away? I don't even know where you are?"

"I want to contact you, but you also changed your phone number, I..."

"I know." Zhao Junbo patted the back of Liu Shufen's hand and said with sobs:

"Over the years, I have been working as an apprentice in other places, learning skills from my master, and making a name for myself."

"However, I am very busy with work every year, so I can't get away from it. Isn't that right? This time the company has to send me to a far away place again. This time it is abroad, and I may have to stay for a long time."

"Are you leaving again? Or going abroad?" After hearing this, Liu Shufen suddenly felt sad and sighed:

"Alas, after all, our Haitian Welfare Institute can't keep living gods like you after all."

"But there is one thing I want to tell you, that is, no matter how far you go in the future, you must always remember that you walked out of our Haitian Welfare Institution."

"No matter where you are, you should have kind thoughts, help those in need, and do good deeds to accumulate virtue. This is the best feedback to our Haitian Welfare Home, you know?"

"I know, I know everything." Zhao Junbo choked and nodded.

"Then have you been doing this all these years?" Liu Shufen asked again.

"Well, that's what I do." At this moment, Zhao Junbo was already sobbing, and he replied with choked sobs:

"Isn't that right? I can't come back to visit you every year, so I can only give back to our Haitian Welfare Home by sending money every year."

"Haha." Listening to Zhao Junbo's words, the white-haired Liu Shufen laughed and said with emotion:

"You have a conscience. Thanks to you and the good-hearted people in society, our Haitian Welfare Home has sufficient funds. These children in the Haitian Welfare Home are well fed and clothed."

"They can all enjoy the same life as children from ordinary families and receive the best care."

"Now, the hardware and software facilities of our Haitian Welfare Home are much better than when you were there. The government also gave us a brand new house. The children here are very happy."

Having said this, everyone discovered that at this moment, the door and window sill of the office were once again crowded with children eating melon.

Many children in the orphanage were lying there at the moment, secretly watching everyone's conversation.

But this time, the old dean Liu Shufen did not drive everyone away, but excitedly introduced to Zhao Junbo:

"Did you see that? These children are exactly the same as you back then. They all had unfortunate experiences, but now they finally have a place to live."

"Here, volunteers come here every week to take care of everyone and provide psychological counseling to everyone."

"Therefore, these children today are not as naughty as you were back then, and they don't know how to fight. Everyone is mentally healthy."

"The children living here are like a family. They are united, they help each other, and they even actively learn to help others."

With a heavy sigh, Liu Shufen also said with emotion: "These children now are all active and healthy, which makes me very happy."

"Even if one day I am gone and return to the West, I will feel relieved if I hand over this Haitian Welfare Institution, which I have devoted my whole life to running, to others, and I will not worry about these children having problems after they leave."

"Yeah." Listening to Liu Shufen's narration, Zhao Junbo looked at the young and tender faces at the door, as if he saw himself back then, standing in the crowd.

In an instant, the sun shone on his head when he was less than ten years old. As a child, Zhao Junbo looked at the black-haired Liu Shufen in the office, who was actively communicating with prospective adoptive families and actively recommending children from his orphanage.

After being rejected many times, Liu Shufen still tried hard to introduce her, with a stiff smile that made people feel heartbroken.

Time seems to go back to the beginning...

At this moment, Gu Chen, Lu Weiwei, Officer Wang and Yuan Shasha were no longer in the office.

Only the black-haired Liu Shufen was communicating with several pairs of intended families.

And next to him, there is a child who is also staying in the orphanage, dreaming of being adopted one day.

"Oh, Zhao Junbo." A fat little boy suddenly said to the childhood Zhao Junbo: "Mama Liu has been saying good things about you, why should I praise you only? We are also very good?"

"Yeah." Another jealous little girl couldn't help but said: "Besides being good-looking, you, Zhao Junbo, have no skills. You are not as good as me. I can at least dance, and you can't even jump rope."

"I……"

Zhao Junbo, who was dismissed by everyone, was confused at the moment and seemed to not know how to refute.

And looking at several pairs of intended families, after looking at the photos and information of many children, they couldn't help but shake their heads and turned around to leave.

The children gathered around the door immediately gave up their seats.

A man wearing gold-rimmed glasses walked up to Zhao Junbo, couldn't help but touched Zhao Junbo's head, and sighed:

"This child is handsome, but it would be great if it was a girl. I want to adopt a girl."

"Husband, let's go." Another woman reminded.

The man nodded and left with several other interested families.

Looking at these couples leaving, many children standing outside the corridor looked forward in despair.

At this moment, the black-haired Liu Shufen walked out of the office. Seeing everyone gathered here, she immediately put back her depressed mood, tried to pretend to be excited, comforted everyone, and said:

This chapter is not over yet, please click on the next page to continue reading! "Those uncles and aunts just now said they would consider it again. Each of you has a chance to be adopted."

"Mama Liu, we all heard it." A little girl with poor appearance also replied in despair:

"Those uncles and aunts just now said that I was ugly, and they wanted to adopt a good-looking girl. Did I disappoint Mother Liu?"

At the end of the sentence, the little girl suddenly burst into tears.

This made Liu Shufen at a loss. She quickly held the girl in her arms and comforted her: "Who said that? In Mother Liu's place, each of you is beautiful and cute."

"If they say you are not good-looking, that is because they are blind. Mother Liu will definitely help each of you find a family willing to adopt you. She will definitely do it."

Liu Shufen was still comforting everyone in her ears.

Many boys and girls cried.

Every time they saw an adult walking into the orphanage, everyone would subconsciously run to the door of Liu Shufen's office and eavesdrop on the details.

All orphans, regardless of gender, want to be children of ordinary families and have a family that is willing to accept them.

But most of the time, many adoptive families are picky.

After all, if you are adopting a child, most families have very high requirements, and there are very few children who can meet these family requirements.
