Chapter 6. The Infected Show

After drinking the cereal, Zhou Jinru immediately threw himself on the bed and fell asleep. He only woke up when there was noisy people outside. He glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table. It was around five o'clock in the morning, and people started going to school.

Students arrived. They gathered in twos and threes at the door to chat, and some bought morning tea and drinks.

He put on his clothes, opened the drawer, and found some loose money. He also found a love letter in the corner. He didn't know which student it was from.

I opened the door and looked across the road. Sure enough, as Uncle Qin said, the breakfast shop had been set up. Many students were sitting at the table, drinking tea and chatting, and some even took out their homework to copy.

Someone asked curiously: "Why didn't Uncle Qin open the door today?"

There are also those who are jealous: "I don't know, what's so good about Uncle Qin? This little brother is so handsome."

"Don't think about it, there's no chance for you. Look at his figure, he must be a good player on the court."

"You hate it, so I'll think about it and don't have to pay taxes."

Zhou Jinru touched the slightly tingling temples on both sides. Although he slept for a while, the fatigue still did not subside. He was not sure whether it was the sequelae of actively using reason.

I walked straight to the morning tea stall, looked at the menu posted in front of the counter, and took out five coins: "A bowl of vegetarian wontons."

An old man wearing a shabby military coat stood bent over in front of the boiling cauldron. He glanced at Zhou Jinru and poured all the wontons on the porcelain plate at hand into the boiling water. After a while, the wontons floated to the surface, followed by a large number of bubbles.

Stop turning.

Old Dong said in a hoarse voice: "Young man, you look unfamiliar."

"I'm here for work in Longmen. I stopped by to see Uncle Qin. I haven't seen him in many years."

Lao Dong didn't answer. He picked up the wontons, put them in a bowl, and pushed them in front of Zhou Jinru: "Eat your wontons slowly, it will burn your mouth."

Sitting on the table, eating slowly, feeling warm gradually, listening to the conversations of the students around me.

"Have you heard? Martial law has been enforced over there in the outer ring. I heard that people died in gang fights, and even the Guards Bureau was dispatched."

"It's so serious. When did it happen?"

"What happened last night, my uncle passed by on his way to work and took a photo."

"Do you think it will affect the concert held at our school tonight? It probably won't be cancelled. Even the stage has been set up. It would be a pity to cancel it temporarily."

"I don't think so. After all, some artists are selected from the community of infected people. Those miserable people will not miss any opportunity to contact normal society."

After eating and wiping his mouth, Zhou Jinru casually walked through the students. When he came to the door of the reception room, he saw Uncle Qin arriving late on his bicycle. Sitting in the back seat was a man who could still wear a winter coat.

Look at the voluptuous figure of the Carters woman.

Uncle Qin said with a little embarrassment: "This is Teacher Liu from our school. She missed the bus, so I brought her here on the way."

Teacher Liu reached out to hold his hair and took off his fluffy earmuffs. His eyes fell on Zhou Jinru and turned around a few times. He smiled and said, "This is..."

"Oh, I am Uncle Qin's nephew. I have been working in Longmen for the past few days. I stopped by to see his old man. I haven't seen him in many years. I miss him so much."

Zhou Jinru was blushing and out of breath. He glanced at Teacher Liu and Uncle Qin for a few times without leaving any trace, and shouted: "Uncle, open the door quickly, don't make the students wait in a hurry. It's very cold outside. It's freezing."

If it’s broken, it won’t be good. It’s heavy on studies and it’s hard to make up for missed classes.”

"Yes, yes, look at my memory."

Uncle Qin slapped his forehead and entered the communication room to get the remote control. Teacher Liu squinted his charming eyes and stretched out his hand to Zhou Jinru: "Your name is Aguang, right? I heard Lao Qin say that you are indeed a talented person and a good man."

"My uncle just said it casually. When I was young, I was dark and short, so my classmates called me Short Winter Melon."

Zhou Jinru gently shook his hand and then calmly pulled his hand back, laughing, unable to hear the underlying meaning of Teacher Liu's words.

"I'm going to prepare the courseware, see you later."

Teacher Liu twisted her slender waist and followed the students into the school gate. Zhou Jinru turned around and saw Uncle Qin staring at him with a half-smile.

"Uncle, I heard that the outer ring is closed and you can't leave. I will stay with you for two days temporarily and pay you accommodation fees later. Isn't it going to be difficult for you?"

Uncle Qin clasped his hands behind his back and said disapprovingly: "It doesn't matter, you can live here. It just makes up for my evening shift. I am familiar with the school leaders, so there will be no problem."

"Okay, I'm going to catch up on some sleep. Last night was so frustrating for me."

Seeing that things were clear, Zhou Jinru walked into the communication room laughing loudly. Uncle Qin's teasing voice came from behind: "Is this too much to bear? There will still be a long time to come."

After sleeping until he woke up naturally, Zhou Jinru opened his eyes and got up from the bed. He was full of energy and felt indescribably comfortable all over his body. Only his stomach was clamoring for hunger. Lao Qin was nowhere to be found in the communication room, and he couldn't care less.

After taking the money, he went out to look for food.

It was already dusk now. He had slept all day long. The setting sun shone on his face, stretching his figure. The business at the stall across the road had changed from morning tea to fish balls. There were two students sitting at the table.

The person glanced at Zhou Jinru curiously and then returned to their topic.

"Hey, do you think tonight's concert can go on smoothly?" said the big orange cat-like student. Zhou Jinru could not tell the gender of the other party from his appearance, but his voice indicated that she was a young woman.

"Your worries are unreasonable. Even a band composed of infected people does not mean there is anything wrong with them. The music is the same. Moreover, Longmen has already publicized that Originium Disease is not contagious."

The white-haired young man named Jie ate fish balls and thick noodles and said vaguely.

"I know, but I still find it hard to accept, and there are many people who think like me. I'm afraid there will be some riots at the scene. After all, the community for infected people was established to separate them from ordinary people."

"Huaihu, have you ever thought about Ah Cheng? The reason why he dropped out of school was because his father accidentally became an infected person and was expelled from Longmen. Although he found a new job in the infected community, his income suddenly dropped.

Half of it is not enough to support family expenses, nor can it afford Ah Cheng’s tuition. People like them should get more attention, instead of being chased away like insects. The integration movement is because..."

"Okay, okay, everything you said is right, I can't tell you anything."

The student named Huaihu stretched out her hands to stop Zi from continuing. She quickly finished her noodles and said, "Let's go in quickly. The concert is about to start. Don't miss the opening. It's rare to see it here."

To the pop singer’s performance.”

Watching the two people leave, Zhou Jinru slowly ate the delicious fish balls. Lao Dong's craftsmanship was indeed outstanding. He thought that even if he went late, he would not miss anything. By the way, he would also see the true attitude of Longmen people towards the infected.
