55 Siege

On July 23, the German paratroopers on the island of Malta remained like rocks, under the attack of British infantry.

That afternoon, the British soldiers who were constantly attacking finally realized a fatal problem: they seemed unable to break through the enemy's defense!

German paratroopers rely on foxgloves and simple traffic trenches to battalions step by step. With rich combat experience, they can face three or even four times their enemies calmly.

Unfortunately, even on the entire island of Malta, there are no so many British soldiers to defeat these terrible German paratroopers.

After killing the 7th enemy with his precise shooting, Leman retracted to his fox pit and replaced it with a brand new magazine.

The point-shooting attack saved him a lot of bullets, and also allowed him to kill enough enemies.

Now, as an experienced German paratrooper, Lehmann loves the stg-44 assault rifle he has.

The Head of State is simply a genius. He can not only draw, design military uniforms, but also create such thoughtful weapons and equipment!

In Lehman's heart, he already felt that the head of his country was an idol comparable to a star.

Although I realized that this weapon was very useful during training, I didn’t expect that the actual combat effect would be so excellent.

At the commonly used combat distance between 200 meters and 300 meters, this weapon can provide precise point-firing attacks, and the suppression firepower of about 100 meters is also fierce and fierce.

This is simply a paratrooper's treasure. After anyone uses this weapon, he will no longer have a favorable impression of other weapons.

The skills of German workers and technicians are really not bragging about. The precision processing and carefully crafted parts give the stg-44 assault rifle nearly perfect properties!

In mid-range accurate shooting, this weapon is much more accurate than the later AK series, and the continuous shooting and reliability also satisfy Lehman.

It is precisely because of more than 50 such assault rifles that the paratrooper camp where Lehman is located can defeat four times his British infantry so calmly.

"Bang!" A German paratrooper fired all the bullets from Mauser's rifle next to the fox pit where Lehman was. When he was pulling out the bullet, he was hit by a bullet that flew from somewhere and fell down.

Leman quickly climbed out of his fox pit, crawled about three meters away, and came to the friendly forces who were shot.

He saw the other party vomiting blood, and a hole in his neck rolled out like a fountain.

"Medical Soldier! Medical Soldier!" Leman shouted loudly regardless of the bullets hitting him, so that the medical Soldier could hear his voice.

A German medical soldier bent over and rolled and crawled to Lehmann. He fell to the ground as soon as he arrived, bringing up the dust around him.

"Someone was injured!" Leman tried to lower his body and shouted loudly with his comrades in his arms.

"I saw it! I'm not blind!" The medical soldier supported his helmet with his fingers, replied, and pressed the hole that kept gushing blood with his hands.

"Damn it! It hit the blood vessel!" The medical soldier felt the warmth and the unrestrained force, and complained.

This is the front line, without plasma and no rescue environment. What's even more sad is that he has no place to tie the tourniquet - that's his neck, and there is no difference between tying the tourniquet and strangling him.

"Help me hold this place! I want to prepare morphine!" However, with his professional conscience, the medical staff decided to do their best.

He pulled out his blood-stained hand and took out medical morphine from his pocket.

"Don't worry! It's just a small hole! Can you hear me? Look at me! Can you hear me?" The medical soldier shouted to the wounded while preparing the potion.

The other party seemed to want to speak and answer, but blood spurted out of his mouth. Leman pressed the other party's neck, his face full of worry.

He knew that under this situation, the possibility of rescue was very small. The reason why the medical soldier was still working hard was because the poor man lying in his arms had not yet died.

"Okay! Okay! You will be fine!" The morphine needle was inserted into the other party's arm, and the medical soldier comforted the wounded, holding the hand of the wounded.

The other party struggled for a few moments, and then suddenly became quiet. The medical soldier glanced at Leman, then shook his head: "Get out of here, don't be hit!"

Leman also realized that the person in his arms was no longer angry, so he pulled his fingers back from the wound that no longer gushed blood.

After wiping the opponent's military uniform twice, Leman realized that there seemed to be a lot less bullets attacking him.

In the sky, the wandering Stuka bombers arrived again, and they used machine guns to strafuse the ground, driving the British back to where they had just set out.

After losing more than 200 people, the British soldiers were in a panic and gasping for a while at the place where they set out, but found that they did not even move forward...

The German paratrooper squad where Lehman was located lost two soldiers in his combat effectiveness just now, which was the biggest loss they suffered since the airborne, and also indicates that it seemed that the Battle of Malta would not end so smoothly.

Luftwaffe bombers once again came over Malta, and Stuka bombers hovered in the sky with bombs hanging on them.

The Malta defenders who had lost their air supremacy had no way to stop German aircraft from attacking the targets they discovered, because most of their anti-aircraft guns were destroyed or seized by German paratroopers.

This is the Luftwaffe supporting paratroopers' operations, so the activity area is not in Valletta, which the British are closely guarding, but in the middle of a more remote island, which makes the British even more powerless.

In the main direction of the British counterattack, on the battlefield near Rabat, these British troops who fought back were nothing, so the performance of the British on other battlefields was even more tragic.

The German army successively occupied Meliha and controlled the town of St. Paul's Bay. Now these troops have moved south along the Asel River and are heading towards the important town of Mosta.

The Germans attacked from this direction almost walked around the island of Malta, but they had almost no decent resistance.

The British did not expect the Germans to attack on both sides. When the British commanders realized that the German army might be twice as large as they had guessed, the situation they had to face had already made them lose sight of these small details.

The British defenders in the town of Rabat are organizing a second counterattack, trying to repel the German paratroopers in the front, the third battalion where Lehman is located.

But when they barely pulled out 1,000 people to continue the attack, they found that there were also Germans on their wings.

The German paratroopers attacking Rabat were not a battalion of 500 troops, but two paratrooper regiments, an army of more than 3,000.

These German paratroopers had a new regiment that was airborne by gliders to the island of Malta, and they carried more ammunition and more machine guns.

Of course, they also brought more iron fist rocket launchers. Two such regiments attacked Rabat at the same time because the German command was determined to win against Rabat.

Only by capturing Rabat can you continue to attack the southeast and attack important military targets along the highway, the largest military airport on the island!

Only when threatening there will it truly disrupt the British's strategic deployment and allow the Battle of Malta to move towards the pre-rehearsed script.

"Hey? Hey? Is it Valletta? Commander! This is Rabat defender!" After grabbing the phone, a regiment commander from the British front reported to the highest commander on the island.

"A large number of German troops are trying to defend Rabat! There are at least 2,000 people!" His troops are being compressed, and Rabat is already in danger.

"Request for retreat! If we continue to fight, our troops will be surrounded in Rabat!" His tone was very rapid, obviously scared by the number of enemies.

"..." After thinking for a long time, the local British commander had to let his troops go to death: "You are not allowed to retreat!"

"Your troops must guard Rabat and wait for my people to rush to reinforce the place before you can withdraw and rest!" said the commander firmly.

"Stay there until evening! My reinforcements will arrive! Do you understand?" He could not bear the consequences of Rabat's occupation by the German army, which meant that the British troops on the island were more passive.

In fact, he doesn't have much reinforcements to Rabat. Now he only has more than 1,000 reserve teams. If he wants to have more, he has to draw from the coastal defense forces that are preparing to land.

"Sir! I can't complete this order! The German army is twice as good as mine. My troops lack ammunition and medicine, so it is impossible for me to last for a few hours." The front line commander cried and expressed his judgment.

"You know what it means to us without Rabat." The British commander asked, clamping the phone and frowning.

"Sir! The Germans have surrounded this place on three sides. You know that if we are surrounded, it means you will lose 1,000 soldiers and Rabat!" The regiment commander finally fought for his troops.

"Okay! I allow you to retreat! Leave there! But you can only retreat to Zebuji! No more step back!"

At around 2 pm that day, the British were forced to give up the important defense node Rabat.

About 900 British soldiers were withdrawn from the battle, and more than 100 people remained voluntarily, delaying the pursuit of German paratroopers.

At around 3 o'clock, German paratroopers captured all the buildings in Rabat, and a huge German flag was laid on the roof of the tallest building here.
