489 Unfortunate Armored Division

"What a joke? Are you telling me a joke? This joke is not funny at all! Really! Not funny at all!" Sir Deer found that during this day, he was about tortured by the reports of his subordinates.

The 9th Armored Division just started the offensive, and in less than 20 minutes, it lost more than 30 tanks of various models.

There will naturally be losses when fighting, and huge losses are common. However, after losing so many tanks, the 9th Armored Division did not even see clearly what its enemies were like.

"What does it mean to not know the enemy's tank model? What does it mean to not know the enemy's tank number? Have you launched an attack?" Sir Deer squeezed the phone and shouted at his subordinates.

He even doubted now that because of the cowardly battle, the offensive battle he commanded was not executed by his subordinates at all. Otherwise, if he had lost so many tanks, he could see clearly what the enemy looked like no matter what?

Churchill frowned on the side. He only realized today how strong the German army was and how weak the British army under his command were.

On the one hand, due to insufficient supply, the training of the British Army has long been reduced to a level of almost a joke. It is a funny thing to expect some soldiers who have just completed the training for a week to fight against the Germans.

"So, we can't count on the attack of the 9th Armored Division on the flank?" Charles asked while Sir Deer was tired of scolding his subordinates and stopped to breathe.

He is not taking advantage of the situation, but really caring. If the army cannot block the German troops, the pressure on the counterattack at night will increase accordingly.

However, this question sounds different in Churchill's ears: the Germans will drive straight in and may suddenly attack Maidstone and other areas.

Once Maidstone is out of protection, London will almost be exposed to the threat of the enemy's attack. This is a major event. The capital has become a front-line city, so he, the prime minister, doesn't have to continue doing it.

"Will the German army continue to attack? What I mean is to continue to attack north and capture Maidstone?" Churchill had no choice but to ask tentatively.

Sir Deer, who was tortured by the battle situation in front of him, now doesn't know how to answer the questions raised by his commander.

If one day before, he could give many assumptions. Then he used various plans for deducing the German landing to answer Churchill's question.

However, now the German army has really fought, and none of the previews happened, and the entire battle situation exceeded his estimate and expectations.

A day ago, Sir Deer was killed, and he would not believe that the German army could seize the heavily defended Port of Dover within one day and occupy Cape North Forlan.

Also a day ago, he would never believe that the German army could defend their positions with just paratroopers and resist the counterattack of his tank troops.

What makes people feel even more absurd is that the German army not only used the daytime to transport a large number of tanks to the shore, but also seemed to use the afternoon to replenish a large amount of fuel and ammunition, which was enough for these troops to use.

Now, Canterbury, Ashford, Folkstone... so many areas have fallen into the hands of the Germans, and this landing battle seems to have won a complete victory...

"I don't know either, Mr. Prime Minister! I hope to resign now. It seems that I am not competent for the command of the troops." Sir Deer shook his head and prepared to go back and write his resignation report.

At this moment, he really didn't know whether the German army would start attacking and occupying Meadstone before dark, and of course he didn't know whether the Hays and other areas would be lost.

Even if it is not counted in towns such as Hayes and Maidstone, the area occupied by the Germans is enough to disperse their troops - naval artillery can only affect the floating dock at most.

"Damn it! What are you doing at this time? Shift the responsibility? Let the 9th Armored Division start to organize a new counterattack immediately! I need to let them launch another counterattack as soon as possible!" Churchill shouted angrily when he heard Sir Deer's words.

Sir Deer knew that he was in the wrong, so he had to bite the bullet and stay and continue to command the series of battles that happened in front of him: "Okay, let the 9th Division shrink its forces, launch a tentative attack, and find the enemy's defensive weaknesses!"

The Atlantic shipping was cut off by the German army, and in fact, the biggest impact was the UK's east coast. It was very difficult to transport food and materials across the UK to the east coast.

The reason for the turmoil in Birmingham was that most of Liverpool's supplies were transported to the north, while the remaining supplies were concentrated in Bristol in a planned manner.

The large amount of food and food unloaded in the Port of Bristol can only be transported to London and consumed. After London's interception, there are very few things that can be delivered to Chatham and other areas.

This is why the British defenders who could fight to the death in Dover and other areas did not obey the command in Margate and retreated privately and were eventually annihilated.

The reason is actually very simple. The unlucky 3rd Division of the shore defense lacks ammunition and does not have much food, so they can only try their luck. In fact, their luck is very bad, so they are blocked in the wilderness.

There are also problems in Portsmouth, Brighton and other areas. These places have long been bombed into ruins by German bombers, and Churchill would not waste too much food and supplies to help refugees in these places.

Because of this, the 9th Armored Division, which was backed by these places, was not determined to attack at this time. They were waiting and tempted, and were unwilling to take the risk of fighting the German army to the death.

When the 2nd German Paratrooper Division once again deviated from the flank towards Hayes, the 9th British Armored Division, which was supposed to attack, was preparing for a new round of attack plans.

They did not know that the German paratroopers had set out again from Ashford and launched an attack on their flanks.

Of course, they didn't know that there was another crisis that was even more deadly for them, which was already brewing.

In the French German-occupied area, an air force liaison officer came out of the liaison room and handed a message to the bomber commander who was waiting for the news: "Sir! News from the front line!"

After pulling the telegram paper, the content on it was very simple: the 9th Mechanized Infantry Division was attacked by enemy tanks on the periphery of Folkstone.

Originally, because there were too many things to be responsible for, the Luftwaffe was now busy and didn't know what he should do.

They are responsible for covering the landing troops above, preventing British fighter jets from entering, and reconnaissing the specific location of the floating dock.

Fighters took off one after another, repeatedly competing with the British fighter force for air supremacy on the battlefield. To this day, at least 200 aircraft have been shot down or disappeared, and the battle continues.

At the same time, they wanted to attack various British ships to ensure absolute safety of maritime transportation. This work was not easy to do, and at least 40 ships had been sunk by British gunboats and torpedo boats.

In addition, the Luftwaffe is responsible for supporting landing troops to strike ground targets. Stuka and ju-88 bombers dispatched more than 5,000 bombs, almost exhausting the entire French bomb inventory.

Now that I am busy, details have been missed in many places. Many tasks have been cancelled, and many ground forces are complaining that the Air Force’s support is not timely enough.

In order to strike targets more accurately, the Air Force has identified the main areas supporting ground operations in several directions such as Maidstone and Chatham.

As for the battle in other directions, the ground troops could only seek blessings and rely on their own strength to face the fierce counterattack of the British army.

However, when he saw this message, the commander of the Luftwaffe immediately realized that it seemed that he could open up another attack area here.

"They are sure that there is a British armored division nearby?" The lieutenant general of the Luftwaffe pinched the telegram and looked up and asked his subordinates.

The German officer nodded and replied, "Sir, the message is very clear. They grabbed their tongues and explained many things."

"Very good, let the ju-87 troops on standby take off and attack the nearby areas...the opportunity is given to them. What kind of results can be achieved depends on themselves." The German commander raised his hands and walked towards Kesseling's office with the telegram.

At the airport, one ju-87 bomber that had just been filled with oil and had bombs mounted started the engine. The pilots made gestures to the ground crew and then rushed into the sky one after another.

Before the 9th Armored Division could organize another new attack, the German Stuka dive bomber crossing the strait arrived at the battlefield.

This time, the 9th British Armored Division finally felt God's deep malice towards them. Dozens of tanks had just gathered together and were baptized like a storm by German bombers.

One after another, aviation bombs fell from the sky, blowing their tanks into parts. Stuka, who had no bombs, dived and fired with a machine gun, and also destroyed many cars and tanks.

More importantly, the newly established gasoline supply base was discovered by the Stuka dive bomber, causing the German aircraft to explode completely.

The huge explosion directly shot down a rampant Stuka dive bomber, which was the first result achieved by the 9th Armored Division on this day...
