Section 02 Essence

Electromagnetic weapons are not just some kind of weapons, but more of a direction.

Whether it is the official or the civil subject, I racked my brains on this issue. Various designs have opened their brains and are imaginative.

There are many ways to realize electromagnetic weapons. Although they use the power generated by the relationship between electricity and magnetism to push the projectile, their advantages and disadvantages are completely different.

As of now, electromagnetic orbital weapons are more mainstream, and most countries' research directions on electromagnetic weapons are mainly based on magnetic orbital weapons.

After all, coil weapons involve superconducting materials and supercapacitors, while magnetic rail weapons only involve supercapacitors. Although only one necessary condition is reduced, the difficulty of implementation is reduced in geometrical stages.

Because Cheng Zheng's "copper-based superconducting experiment" - or "ideological alchemy" - has not been successful yet, the electromagnetic gun implementation method he chose is also a magnetic rail solution.

In addition, Chen Zheng also borrowed some more cutting-edge reconnection concepts.

The reconnection gun has no gun barrel, and a strong magnetic field force will be generated between the two separated rectangular coils, which will eject the projectiles that are shot into the magnetic field at a higher speed.

In anime and games, in some plots that show electromagnetic weapons, two strip light arrays, hollows, weapons and equipment that can fire projectiles of different caliber or even eject aircraft are referenced to the concept of reconnecting cannons.

Of course, there is no lighting effect between the two magnetic field guides of the real reconnection gun.

Just to the concept of weapons, re-engaging the cannon is to first use compressed air or gunpowder to provide the projectile with an initial speed, and then allow the projectile to enter the electromagnetic weapon to receive further acceleration.

In fact, whether it is a coil gun or a rail gun, this method of providing initial speed can greatly improve the efficiency of energy use and increase the speed of the projectile.

However, Chen Zheng provided the projectile with some alternative method, his method was... a crossbow.

There is no way to use the original projection method of crossbow.

Although, he had picked up the pistol that was deformed by the Ottos before, and removed a complete barrel, some gunpowder, several warheads and several deformed base fire.

But he used up everything before he finished his experiment. He needed more easily to obtain materials, so it was natural that the crossbow appeared as a substitute.

While drinking the fish soup slowly, Chen Zheng began to fiddle with the small parts he had taken out before.

As the parts were assembled one by one, gradually, a strange-looking "gun" slowly took shape.

This "gun" mainly consists of two parts.

The main structure of the lower half is four copper strips. There are holes on the copper strips every few centimeters, and a thick, round columnar wood model is embedded.

These wooden blocks represent capacitors.

Each cylindrical wood model is divided into two claws and inserted into the holes of two copper strips. Four copper strips are in two groups, and the two groups are connected in parallel to connect to a wood "trigger".

This "trigger" represents a switch, which Cheng Zheng calls a secondary switch.

The upper part of this "gun" is simpler, it is two copper tracks embedded in the wooden board, and the copper track is connected to the secondary switch.

The rear of the copper rail is connected to the crossbow.

Compared to the rough workmanship of the sky, this crossbow is much more exquisite: a bowstring made of hardwood is hung on the bowstring woven with fine copper wire mixed with bark fibers, and the center of the bowstring is a copper lock with exquisite workmanship.

On the one hand, this lock can fix the projectile, and on the other hand, it also connects another bark copper wire chain, and finally the chain is tied to the winch.

When rotating the rocker next to the crossbow machine, the gears are rotated, and the winch will hang the bowstring on the crossbow machine.

The handle of the crossbow is pure wood, with a cavity inside which is placed in it. Two copper pieces are in contact with the monster fish crystal. The lead wires are connected to another trigger-like switch and finally connected to the copper rail.

The switches in this part are named as first-level switches by Cheng Zheng.

When firing, the electromagnetic railgun first presses the first-level switch. At this time, the monster fish crystal turns into electricity and surges into the supercapacitor, and then aims at the target with the electromagnetic gun.

After confirming the target, press the crossbow machine, and the secondary switch connected to the crossbow machine is turned on at the same time, and the current flows from the supercapacitor to the two copper rails.

At this time, the projectile mounted on the crossbow was shot out. When the projectile passed through the charged copper rail, it was further accelerated, and finally flew out at a speed of more than 10 times, completely destroying Chen Zheng's target...

...If everything goes smoothly according to his vision.

But that is impossible. Chen Zheng still has many problems that have not been solved.

For example...supercapacitance problem.

Although Chen Zheng knew some research directions and concepts of supercapacitors, he also had strange fish crystals that could turn into any substance in his hands.

However, he did not know whether the direction of those supercapacitors was reliable, and so far there was no more mature supercapacitor solution in the scientific community, and the slightly more mature solutions were too confidential and hard to know.

I don’t know the solution composition and microstructure inside the supercapacitor, and I only know that using graphene as an electrode cannot create supercapacitors. And supercapacitors composed entirely of graphene are just a concept. Proposing ideas and solving problems are two completely different things.

Compared to the high-end supercapacitor problem, another simple problem makes Chen Zheng even more embarrassed, that is, the insulation material.

So far, all Chen Zheng could do was pull out the copper bare wire. As for the insulating skin of the wire... he could only think of a solution from the specimen box with a number of more than 100.

However, whether it is a supercapacitor or an insulating material, it is no longer important than another question...

...Chen Zheng has not yet found a way to convert the monster fish crystal into electricity.

Previously, when he saw that alien technology healing instruments could absorb monster fish crystals to "recharge", Chen Zheng suddenly realized: It turns out that monster fish crystals can turn into energy!

Then came the electromagnetic cannon model he made.

However, when he held the simple "crystalline electricity conversion device" mentioned above and imagined in his mind that the strange fish crystal was converted into "electricity", nothing happened.

There is no electric light, no electric arc, and even the volume of the monster fish crystal does not decrease at all.

It was not until this time that Chen Zheng was shocked to realize that the "electricity" in his mind was just "electricity" and had no specific image! The abstract concept of "electricity" alone could not activate the strange fish crystal.

Later, Chen Zheng changed his approach.

He began to imagine the sparks drawn by the arc of electricity, the lightning in the sky...

Then, he got a flash of lightning.

The strange fish crystal made a plasma, and then it turned into light and heat and disappeared after less than 1 second in the air.

So the question is, what exactly is "electricity"?
