One hundred and thirteenth section, the wild dogs of Lingen

Milan is the gateway to Italy. Whenever the Holy Roman Empire's iron hooves were about to step into Rome, it was always the first place to be ravaged. The Duke of Milan swallowed his anger and dared not resist, which had long caused the people of the city-state to be indignant, just as the famous saying in later generations said, there was oppression and resistance.

"We're here." Anthony was dirty and ragged and thin. He stepped on the green grass on the ground, as if he was stepping on a thick carpet.

"Brother, come here and have something to eat." At the gate of the city built with wood and stone, several Francis monks in gray robes were helping the poor. It was obvious that they regarded Anthony and his group as wandering beggars, but Anthony and others didn't care. It was better to have a bite of food.

The monks of Francis cooked a pot of soup, and no one knew what it was in the soup. The green one seemed to be vegetables, but it was enough to soak the hard barley bread in the broken pottery bowl and soften it.

"Woo woo." Anthony could no longer remember the taste of cooked food. He ate green soup and soft barley bread voraciously. The monk Francis next to him looked at each other in surprise, thinking that this group of people must have suffered a lot.

"Huh, how can I go to the Duke's mansion?" After drinking the soup at the bottom of the bowl, Anthony gasped for a moment, as if he had returned. He handed the earthenware bowl in his hand to the monks, and then asked them.

"What, Lord Duke's Mansion?" Francis monks were dumbfounded. They did not expect that Anthony, who had finished the food to help the beggars, would actually ask Lord Duke's mansion. This was something that had never happened before.

"Do you want to beg for the Duke? Brother advises you not to go. The Duke is not as kind as the church." Francis shook his head, clasped his hands and said sincerely to Anthony.

"No, I'm not going to beg." Anthony, already covered with his dense beard, wiped his mouth with his hands wrapped in dirty linen, and then said to the monks.

"What are you doing?" the monk asked to him in wonder.

"I'm going to collect debts." Anthony said with a bright look.

Rudolph looked at the numbers on the parchment, and Jenny stood in front of him nervously. After learning the addition and subtraction within ten that Rudolph gave her, Rudolph increased the difficulty and handed it to her within twenty. Today can be said to be an exam for the knowledge that Jenny has learned.

"Well, it's not bad, everything is right." Rudolph put down the parchment and said to Jenny. Parchment and ink are very valuable things in this era, and it's thanks to Jenny who is willing to learn and is very talented.

"Really?" Jenny showed a happy expression on her face, and she developed a strong interest in this strange symbol and arithmetic.

"I'll be assured to hand over the accounts to you." Rudolph said to Jenny. The trouble of calculating income and expenses in the castle every day was finally out of it, but Jenny was a little hesitant.

"What's wrong?" Rudolf asked curiously.

"Regent, I know I shouldn't ask, but I still want to know where my brother Benson is?" Jenny said hesitantly.

"Benson! It's a pity that I only know that he ran away and the rest is unclear." Rudolf shrugged and told Jenny.

"Is that true?" Jenny bit her lips, and put down a lot of stones in her heart. After all, as long as her brother can live, it is God's greatest gift.

"You just need to do your own thing well, don't forget yours," Rudolf said to Jenny.

The dungeon iron door of Schwarzburg was opened, and the warden put a bunch of keys around his waist. When he walked around, he made a clattering sound, but he looked behind him suspiciously and didn't understand why the respected Regent sent a dog-in-charge here.

"Look, these are the 15 prisoners who were caught that day, but were all caught. They are all here. They want me to say why waste the grains and just hang them all." The warden stood in front of the prison door and said to the hunting dog general Lingen.

"Yeah." Lin Zhilai was a person who was not good at speaking. He ignored the warden's complaints and walked a few steps to the prison door. It was dark inside.

There was a piece of but someone coughed, and it seemed that the prisoner was caught.

"Hey, are you still alive?" the warden frowned. He knocked on the iron fence with the short wooden stick in his hand. The sound caused commotion in the prison and whispers from people.

"Is this what the Regent said to me for the wild dogs?" Lingen looked in the prison and asked Ma Xiu beside him.

"Yes, they are yours now. You have to take responsibility for them and train them as obedient as your hunting dog." Maxiu nodded. He did not understand Rudolph's plan at all, but this was the order of the Regent after all, so he could only do so.

"I understand, let them all out and let them bask in the sun." Lin Gen touched the joints on his fists with his hand and said to the warden.

"What, let it go, are you crazy? Do you know what crazy things these guys have done. They escaped from the dungeon and held the Count hostage. May God bless and the poor lady, may her soul ascend to heaven." The warden drew a cross on his chest, and he said indignantly.

"This is the order of Lord Regent. Do you want to disobey Lord Regent? Then you have to be clear that the consequences of disobeying orders are to go in and feel the taste of the dungeon." Ma Xiu said to the warden without hesitation.

"No, no, I will let them go immediately." The warden was frightened when he heard this. He quickly took off the key from his waist and opened the iron door of the prison tremblingly.

The sun shone on the ground, and a sound of iron shackles sounded. A prisoner walked out with difficulty holding the door. He narrowed his eyes and couldn't help blocking the strong light with his hands. His eyes could not adapt to it from the dim dungeon. However, even so, he couldn't help but want to feel the warmth of the sun as much as possible.

"Ah~." He walked out of the dungeon tremblingly and stepped on the ground barefoot. The dampness and coldness of the dungeon penetrated into his bones. Now when the sun shines, he seems to be returning to the world from the cold hell.

"Bait and change them in clean clothes." Lingen looked at the skinny prisoners who walked out in silence, and he said to the warden and Maxiu.

"What?" The warden was stunned. It was already very kind to release the prisoners out and let them go. He even had to bathe and change their clothes.

"As for it." Ma Xiu glanced at Lin Gen. Although he was not sure about Lin Gen's specific thoughts, he still said to the warden.
