Chapter 10 Real and False Cthulhu Mythos

"You, Qin Lingxue, an ordinary student from D University, are walking on the campus road as usual." Chen Qiang began his story.

A good boy, telling ghost stories in broad daylight, Uncle Xu, who was wiping the table beside him, thought to himself.

"Suddenly, a man who looked a little embarrassed stopped you. He was wearing a stained and ragged suit, but you could vaguely tell that it was once a very particular and valuable outfit."

"I asked politely," Xiaoxue thought with her head tilted, "Is there anything I can help?"

"'Help me! Help me!', the man shouted," Chen Qiang's voice became sharp, as if he really became the end of the road in the story, "'You must help me! Most people will say I'm crazy, but I'm not crazy!"

Chen Qiang was silent for a few seconds. Even Boss Xu was attracted by his vivid performance and walked over curiously to "listen to the story".

"'There is a... a demon in human skin entrenched on this campus!'" Chen Qiang imitated the man's desperate tone.

"I don't know what to say, I just listened to him silently." Xiaoxue said.

"Seeing that you didn't respond," Chen Qiang said as Xiaoxue's action, "He paniced and stuffed the briefcase in his hand into your hand. 'Listen—I know it's incredible—but the monster is right next to us. The owner of the ice cream shop is not a human, but a man-cannibal demon disguised as a human!"

Uncle Xu's expression suddenly became a little stiff.

"I took the briefcase and hoped he would calm down," Xiaoxue looked down at her character card, not finding Uncle Xu's abnormality, "but I don't have psychoanalysis or other skills..."

"You can do nothing," Chen Qiang said in a cold and unchanging tone, as if he had experienced the scene, "'This bag contains all the evidence I have collected. I just wanted to attack the monster,' only the man said--you can clearly see the painful expression on the other person's face---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chen Qiang took a sip of water and glanced at Uncle Xu next to him. Uncle Xu started wiping the table again, but his expression was a little unnatural.

"Without waiting for you to reply, this man will walk away quickly." Chen Qiang's tone returned to calm again.

"I'll hold him... no," Xiaoxue suddenly changed her mind halfway, "I shouldn't have involved myself too. I'll go back to the dormitory... No, find a secluded place to open the briefcase."

"Walk away by yourself, this is your choice, right?" Chen Qiang stood up.

"What?" Xiaoxue was surprised.

"We will continue the activity of the board game club the night after tomorrow," said Chen Qiang. "If you are afraid, you might as well find a few teammates. I have prepared the documents in the briefcase. At that time, I will present those documents and everything in them to you."

"I'm not afraid!" Xiaoxue muttered, "But why do you really have those documents?"

I used WORD to display the code last night, Chen Qiang thought to himself.

I spent a lot of time and found a codec software next time.

Now, these files are still waiting on my USB drive to send to the printing shop...

"Who knows," he pretended to be deep, "Maybe the story is true. Come on, let's go."

Xiaoxue shuddered, not sure if she was really scared, or if she used her 91% performance skills to show Chen Qiang.

Chen Qiang glanced at Uncle Xu. The middle-aged man who heard the story from beginning to end frowned, looking worried.

He didn't breathe a sigh of relief until he watched Chen Qiang and Xiaoxue leave.

...

late at night.

Uncle Xu closed the shop door.

He has sold this store for many years, selling ice cream in spring and summer, and in winter, some hot drinks and fruits.

He was absent-minded all afternoon - the "story" told by Chen Qiang circled in his heart and could not be gone.

Could it be... Chen Qiang has been working in his own shop for a long time and accidentally discovered his own secret?

"This is impossible," Uncle Xu said to himself, as if he was comforting himself, "It was just a coincidence."

He walked towards the basement with slight hands. Since it became an ice cream shop, Uncle Xu has prohibited outsiders from entering on the grounds that the basement was converted into a miniature cold storage by him.

The longer the stairs, the closer they get to the door at the end, the heavier the ash air will be.

Uncle Xu suddenly pulled open the door-

This is a small basement. On the left side of the room is a large freezer filled with various ice creams and ice cream, with the indicator light on.

Everything is normal.

But on the right hand a few meters away, that was completely another scene.

The dead, half-rotten cattle and sheep corpses hung from the ceiling. The corpse was covered with scars and ferocious claw marks.

Being hungry.

Uncle Xu reached out to one of the relatively intact cow corpses. His nails turned sharp, his skin turned into a strange rubbery shape, his eyes disappeared, his eyes were covered with blood, and his back was hunched down involuntarily.

Just as he stuffed a piece of carrion from the claws of the cow into his mouth—

"Who?" Uncle Xu turned around suddenly, and he heard the sound upstairs.

"Uncle Xu, it's me!" Chen Qiang's voice came from the upper floor, "I won't come to work anymore - I'm going to pay you the key!"

"Wait for me!" Uncle Xu said hoarsely. Why didn't you come sooner?

Swallow the remaining rotten meat.

"Gu...ah."

... Almost choked.

You said, my old Xu has become much stronger after he becomes like this, why is the esophagus still the same?

After performing the transformation magic again, ten seconds later, Uncle Xu's image as if he was walking with his legs disappeared, and he turned back to the human form.

It was just that the unexpected consumption of magic made his entire "person" look even more tired.

"I'll come."

...

"Xiao Chen," said Uncle Xu, taking the key from Chen Qiang, "Please trouble you."

"A small matter," said Chen Qiang, "Uncle Xu, what did you do just now?"

"In the basement." Uncle Xu was vague.

"I've been here for almost two years," said Chen Qiang. "You've never let me see the basement once."

"I'm used to fiddling with it myself." Uncle Xu said.

"But you look tired."

"Can you not be tired?" Uncle Xu waved his hand, "but you are here so late, the dormitory should have been closed - wait. I'll answer the phone. Lao Lu's."

Uncle Xu walked into the inner room with his cell phone ringing. Chen Qiang looked at all this coldly behind him.

It was this old Lu who borrowed a large amount of money from Uncle Xu and his wife under Chen Qiang's arrangement that Uncle Xu would never dare not answer his phone number.

Of course... the reason why Mr. Lu called in the middle of the night was that Chen Qiang had arranged it long ago.

"Uncle Xu, sorry." Chen Qiang thought to himself and walked towards the basement.
