Chapter 4 The First Child
The navy ships returned the members of these giant pirates, including Carterel, who was the one who was there.
However, along the way, everyone treated her very well, and there were many soldiers who admired Carterel and were moved by Carterel's previous words.
Along the way, Carter kept his disguise and dared not relax, for fear that his lazy scene would be seen by others.
Although her character is true, she is still a little tired. To be honest, she is more concerned about children's affairs.
Carterel asked several navy soldiers to come to Elbav if they had nowhere to go, so she would raise them. The navy soldiers could agree happily.
On the way, Carter also chatted with the lieutenant general who sent them, and tested the navy's tone. Fortunately, there was no big problem.
The lieutenant general is still very good. He said that he admires Carterel very much, but he always makes Carterel feel something strange and can't say.
But Carter didn't think about it anymore. After boarding the boat, she changed her own clothes to make herself look more dignified. She didn't catch a cold about nuns, and the main reason was that wearing that nun always made her feel uncomfortable.
"Old Madonna, we are going to dock."
"Oh? Are you coming?"
"No, we are going to replenish supplies, so we stop on that island for the time being. Are you going to go down and have a stroll?"
"Okay, I get it, I'll go down and take a look."
The docking of naval warships did not cause much fluctuation, but due to the existence of the giants, it was still quite conspicuous.
When Carterel got off the boat, she planned to take a look, and was always on the boat, making her nervous and a little tired.
Walking aimlessly among the crowd. The streets here are very lively, but Carter is not interested in these things.
Suddenly, her eyes glanced at a thin figure, and Carter frowned slightly and followed quickly.
Soon, she came to a secluded corner, and the thin figure stopped here.
Carterel only saw the other person clearly at this time. What caught his eye was a mess of black curly hair and the turbid eyes under the curly hair.
This was a child, but he was still barefoot, and he also noticed Carter who had been following him. A trace of panic flashed in his eyes, and he stood there in panic.
Looking at the other person's appearance, Carterrell couldn't help feeling sad, she tried to lighten her voice:
"Little guy, I have no malice."
But the other party was still trembling and did not dare to move.
Carter slowly approached and lowered his body and asked softly:
"Child, what about your parents, why are you here alone?"
Carteril wanted to touch the child's head, but he avoided it. He took a few more steps back, his eyes full of vigilance.
"My parents died, and my relatives despise me and don't want me."
He whispered, but his tears couldn't stop spinning.
Carterel looked at the crying child and felt tight. He slowly approached and grabbed the child's hand:
"I'm sorry to know about this. I'm the director of an orphanage. You have nowhere to go now. Do you want to go with me? At least you have food and clothes to wear? How about it?"
The child raised his head in surprise, his eyes looked disbelief, and he whispered:
"real?"
He was still covering his stomach. His stomach was really hungry. He had just looked for some leftovers to eat on the street.
Now he felt very warm to hold his hand, and he was not very resistant.
Carter could touch it. The child's hands were very rough. He was obviously a child, but he was disliked by his relatives. His childhood, which should have been happy, turned into a wandering place.
Carteril tried to squeeze out a gentle smile as much as possible:
"So, do you want to follow me?"
The child lowered his head and rubbed his fingers:
"I can do housework, I can do anything, I won't eat and drink for nothing, I'm very useful."
Carterel listened to the child's words and tried hard to calm down his mood, and continued to comfort him softly:
"I don't need you to do anything. You are still a child. I just hope you can grow up healthy and have a happy childhood. Have you decided and want to follow me?"
The child was silent. He tried hard to wipe his overflowing tears, and then nodded:
"I believe in you, I'll go with you."
Carter tried to touch the child's head, but this time, he did not resist.
"So, come with me, what's your name?"
"Vincent, Ms. Mector Vincent"
"Vincent? It's a good name, so follow me, good boy, and welcome your new life."
Carter led the little Vincent and walked towards the port.
Along the way, Carterrel communicated with Vincent to make him feel more emotional, but the child was obviously still a little restless.
Carterel suddenly stopped and bent down:
"Vincent, why don't I just take you away."
"No, ma'am, I can, I just.... I'm just a little hungry."
Vincent felt a little embarrassed when he said this and lowered his head slightly.
"Don't always call me lady, just call me the dean."
Carterell signaled that he understood, fortunately she still had some Baileys on her. She led Vincent to a big cake stall and bought two cakes for Vincent. When she saw the big cake, Vincent did not go to get it as soon as possible, but looked at Carterell, and Carterell handed it to her:
"Eat it, but be careful of it."
Vincent nodded sensibly and carefully followed the two big cakes. They were warm. Vincent smelled the fragrance and it was delicious just because it smelled. However, he still looked up at Carterel. After Carterel repeatedly persuaded him, Vincent finally moved his mouth. He took a small bite and put the big cake in his mouth. He didn't dare to chew it until the big cake became soft. It was delicious, really delicious.
He hasn't eaten hot pancakes for a long time.
Vincent ate the big cake in small bites, but tears fell like water drops. He tried hard to wipe his face, preventing the food from being hit by tears, and he could not waste food.
Carter looked at this scene, took out his handkerchief, lowered his body, gently wiped the tears from Vincent's face, and comforted:
"Okay, okay, don't cry anymore. Boys can't cry, they will be joked."
"Will the Dean laugh at me?"
"No, never, I won't laugh at you. But, the crying nose is so ugly, we won't cry, okay?"
Vinson nodded.
"Okay, keep eating pancakes. If you can't eat them, don't eat them. Your stomach will hurt if you are too full."
"Uh-huh."
Vincent immediately rubbed his eyes, nodded to understand, and continued to hold Carter with one hand while stuttering on the big cake.
Carter led Vincent on the road, and suddenly a rude voice sounded:
"Vincent? You guy is actually here!"
Vincent shuddered and hid behind Carterrel.
A strong man walked straight over, pulled Vincent's clothes and was about to leave:
