8. The Great Sage
The brave man climbed to the top of the magic tower. This floor was different from the other floors, and there was no other item placed besides the wall opposite the stairs. There was a huge magic circle on the ground in the middle of the floor, and the great sage stood in the middle of the magic circle.
The Great Sage is nearly eighty years old, with white hair and wrinkles on his face. Although he doesn't have a smile on his face, he still gives people the feeling of being a kind elder.
"You are back, brave." Seeing the brave man walking up, the Great Sage curled his lips slightly and moved his legs to greet him.
"Yes, I'm back." A proud and arrogant smile appeared on the brave man's face, opened the box in his hand and handed it over, "Look at what this is!"
"It's the Demon King's horn." The great sage glanced at it, and could no longer hold back the smile on his face. "The Demon King has already fallen? What a great news."
"That's right, I'm awesome, right?"
"Very awesome." The great sage looked at the brave man carefully. The brave man who had washed up and changed into new clothes seemed to be twenty years younger than before. He was full of the vitality of a young man, and his face was full of confidence. He seemed to be nothing in this world, and his originally outstanding appearance looked even more outstanding against the backdrop of this invisible temperament.
"Teacher." As a magician, Lecoon is far less physically strong than a brave man. He was panting after running behind, and Ania seemed to have much better physical strength than him.
"Well, is this little girl..." The great sage noticed the somewhat timid Ainia, who was watched by Ania, and wanted to avoid it, but there was nowhere to hide here.
"This is picked up by the demon... clan." The brave man almost blurted out and said Ainia's identity, "I took it with me because I was very cute."
"So you like this. No wonder you can refuse mercilessly in public like this," said the great sage nodded with thought.
"Hey, don't slander people randomly? Is the reason for rejecting them has nothing to do with this?" The brave man pulled Ania to his side. Although he knew that this was the enemy who killed his father, the two of them had been together for a while. In this strange environment, the terrible sage was able to stand by his acquaintances, which made Ania feel a little relieved.
"I just saw that she was dangerous in a place where monsters were everywhere. I just took her with her with a little kindness. The reason for rejecting the princess and the saint is that they wanted to fight the demon king with them. Fighting the demon king is not an outing. Of course, I can't agree. There is no relationship between the two at all? If you have to be slandered and thoughtfully done, then will no one in this world be willing to do good things right now?"
"Do you still have this enlightenment?" The great sage was surprised. In his memory, the brave man was not like a normal person at all. He had never heard of doing good people and good deeds for no reason. "Have you seen other orphans on the way?"
"Uh..." The brave man tilted his head and refused to speak.
"It seems there is." The Great Sage sighed. He could probably guess how many fatherless orphans would wander in the wilderness along the way, but even he could not save everyone. Although it was understandable that the brave did not save people, it was a bit uncomfortable after all, "Why did you only save her? Is there anything special about her?"
The brave man laughed: "She is the cutest of the children I have ever met on the road."
"Then isn't this equivalent to admitting that you have this habit? Forget it, I won't ask if you don't want to say it." The Great Sage shook his head. Of course, he didn't believe that the brave was really a lolita, but since the brave didn't want the reason, he wouldn't continue to pursue it. In some aspects, he trusted the brave very much.
"You didn't go to His Majesty the King to receive the reward when you came back. What were you planning to do when you came to me?"
According to the heroic spirit in my memory, he should receive a bounty in front of the king at this time. Although the brave man also attaches great importance to his friends, he has not yet reached the level of temptation to visit his friends with huge amounts of money. Could it be that he has grown up in the three years since he went to the area occupied by the Demon King?
Before the great sage could show a gratifying smile, the brave man said, "Of course I came to you to take a bath and change clothes. Isn't it too embarrassing to be kicked out by someone who is a beggar and liar if you don't change it."
Seeing the great sage's face stiff, the brave man said again: "Just kidding, I'm asking you for help if you have something to do. You have seen this Demon King's Corner. It not only contains all the power of the Demon King, but also contains part of the Demon King's will. I am worried that someone will be attracted to absorb the power inside, and thus be affected by his personality and become a new Demon King, so I want to find you to see if he can solve this problem."
"So..." The great sage picked up the Demon King's Horn and immediately felt the power contained in it. Even if he is recognized as the strongest magic attainments in the world, he is far less powerful than the Demon King. "Then how do you want to solve this problem? How can you satisfy you? Destroy this Demon King's Horn directly and let the power inside naturally disperse; or keep the Demon King's Horn as a souvenir to disperse the power inside; or just clear the Demon King's will and make his power harmless to people and safely use it?"
The Great Sage proposed several solutions to varying degrees. When he said it the last, Licoon couldn't help but shout: "Teacher--"
"Licoon, don't lose your heart by power!" The great sage glanced at his disciple and shouted warmly, "Have you forgotten what the first lesson I gave you?"
Lycoon's original excitement immediately cooled down, and a cold sweat suddenly appeared on his back. He realized that he had made a big mistake. He even began to doubt whether he was affected by the will of the demon king inside when he first came into contact with the demon king's horn.
"What do I want those magic powers to do? I don't know magic." The brave man glanced at Lecoon, who was thinking deeply and self-reflective. Although he also wanted to give things to the Great Sages and the others, the devil's horn was originally agreed to return it to Ania, so the magic power could not be kept in it. "Just be simple, leave the horn for me as a souvenir. The power hidden inside, the devil's will, is best to throw away."
"Do you completely clean up everything inside? It's really your style answer." The great sage looked at the apprentice who was looking down and the reluctant Ainya in his eyes, and said with a smile.
"How is it? How long will it take if possible?" The brave man who noticed the Great Sage's gaze turned his body and blocked Ania. He decided to leave here as soon as possible. Although he was not afraid that the Great Sage would see Ania's identity, it would be troublesome if Lecoon knew it, and he had to take care of Ania's thoughts.
Ania, the daughter of the Demon King, has excellent talent in magic, and the magic tower was built by the Great Sage to speed up the magic practice. If you accidentally stimulate Ania's hidden magic talent after being here for a long time, it would be bad.
Fortunately, most of Ania's energy is now focused on fear of being discovered. She has not paid attention to her body and has unconsciously begun to attract the magic power around her. If she realizes this and actively absorbs the magic power, she will soon be able to get started and become a magic apprentice.
