75. Cool down(1/2)

The second quarter lasted 6 minutes and 49 seconds, and the score was tied at 58. This soaring score was simply terrifying!

In the past 6 minutes and 49 seconds, the Trail Blazers and Kings scored 22-24.

The Kings are in really good shape. When they are in good shape, their score is not that incredible.

Everyone knows that the Kings have an unparalleled offense.

But the Trail Blazers also scored 58 points...

This has to do with the fact that the Kings' defense was in disarray tonight.

Seeing Liu Xiu coming back after provoking Peja again, Maurice Cheeks felt that he should say something.

"Jace, please take a rest first."

Liu Xiu nodded and said without showing off, "I want to drip more."

He played for more than one quarter in a row. If it hadn't been for a long period of time where the offensive end only had to stand, he wouldn't have been able to play for such a long time.

There are many things that should be counted - Morris Cheeks said this about Liu Xiu.

The two teams have completely different ideas now.

As for the Trail Blazers - the opponent played so well and we actually withstood it!

Although the Trail Blazers are also a 50-win team, the Kings are a championship-level team, and the Trail Blazers have had a challenger mentality from the beginning.

As for the Kings - if they hadn't exploded, they would have been beaten by the opponent! How could the opponent be in such good shape?

After the timeout, the Kings sent out a combination of Bibby, Bobby Jackson, Doug Christie, Darius Songela, and Brad Miller.

The Trail Blazers fielded a combination of Damon Stoudemire, Derrick Anderson, Ruben Patterson, Randolph and Rasheed Wallace.

The Kings, who had made adjustments well, once again had the upper hand after returning from the timeout and quickly took the lead.

but!

The Kings played more impatiently than before.

In the past, even when Peja was attacked by Liu Xiu, the Kings were not too impatient and made adjustments when necessary. In other words, Peja's shot before Liu Xiu scored 2+1 was a random shot.

But now, every time the Trail Blazers narrow the point difference, the Kings have a higher probability of making the wrong decision.

The Trail Blazers attacked again, and Bibby broke through to the free throw line and hit a one-step floater. 71 to 74, the Trail Blazers narrowed the point difference to 3 points.

When the Kings attack, the Kings are obviously impatient again, just like before when the Trail Blazers narrowed the point difference!

Bobby Jackson caught the ball and threw it. Derrick Anderson's height and wingspan advantage brought great interference to him. Bobby Jackson missed a three-pointer!

Brad Miller fouled on a rebound, and the Trail Blazers got the ball!

"Jace! Up up up!"

Maurice Cheeks took advantage of the dead ball and replaced Derek Anderson with Liu Xiu for the final attack of the first half.

Although Liu Xiu didn't expect that he would be replaced at this time, he rested for a while and recovered well despite his young age. He immediately took off his training clothes and came on the field.

Watching Liu Xiu running onto the court, Maurice Cheeks said: "Kevin, I didn't expect that I would use Jayce as a reliever."

Kevin Pritchar asked in surprise: "Huh? Didn't you ask him to go up and beat him?"

The Kings had the same idea as Kevin Plitcha, thinking that Liu Xiu was replaced as a back-up player!

Just now, Brad Miller got his third foul of the game. In order to prevent Brad Miller from committing four fouls in the half and falling into a foul crisis, Adelman took advantage of the dead ball and replaced Brad Miller.

.

The Kings are so powerful. It can be seen that Liu Xiu is afraid of Brad Miller's close defense and help in defending the inside.

Currently, the Trail Blazers' lineup is Damon Stoudemire, Liu Xiu, Ruben Patterson, Dale Davis, and Rasheed Wallace.

The Kings lineup is Bibby, Bobby Jackson, Doug Christie, Darius Songela, and Divac.

According to normal logic, Liu Xiu is the one who is going to attack from a low position.

After the timeout came back and the Trail Blazers started attacking, Liu Xiu also went inside.

but!

The Kings' defense focused on using Liu Xiu's low post to attract the defense to launch an attack, but the Trail Blazers did not play like this!

The little flying squirrel breaks through!

The Kings responded really quickly! The top teams were not blocked and quickly adjusted their defense.

Liu Xiu pulled out. The Kings were still concerned about his wing shot at first, but Liu Xiu ran to the high post!

When Liu Xiu ran high and passed the free throw line, Doug Christie, who was chasing him, switched defenses and ignored him and blocked Reuben Patterson who was standing on the left side of the free throw line.

Liu Xiu circled all the way from the left side of the three-second zone to the top arc, and there was no obstacle between him and the little flying squirrel who rushed in and was flanked!

"Pasmi!"

The little flying squirrel can't do anything now and is about to be intercepted. When he hears the voice behind him, he quickly passes it over.

Then, he turned around and saw that it was Liu Xiu - this rookie, why would he go there if he didn't go to the two corners to support him!

Kings players think so too.

Liu Xiu was left unguarded at the top of the arc. Doug Christie, who was closest to him, hesitated but did not make up for it. He stared at Reuben Patterson, who was shooting 41% from the high post on the left side of the free throw line.

Then……

Liu Xiu slowly adjusted in the top arc and shot a three-pointer...hit!

Kings players are going crazy!

Damn it, you can still get in!

Is it so outrageous to hit them?

It’s really not that the Kings players are short of memory. Liu Xiu didn’t shoot much in the second quarter. He still took a long break before coming back. In the preseason + summer league, he only made 5 three-pointers in total... He’s still tops now.

arc, rather than the direction in which the long shot was previously made.

Clearing the air and blocking players who pose a greater threat is what the defensive end should do.

Who would have thought that Liu Xiu could still enter!

From Liu Xiu's slow and careful shooting movements, it is obvious that he has a mentality of giving it a try.

But I just got in!

4 of 4 three-pointers!

As Doug Christie missed a pull-up jumper at the buzzer, after halftime, the Trail Blazers and Kings tied the score at 74 and entered the halftime break!

He made 11 of 14 shots in the half, including 4 of 4 three-pointers, plus 1 of 1 free throw, scoring 27 points!

At halftime, Liu Xiucai knew that he had broken the 21 points set by Anthony in the previous two days, the highest half-time score for a rookie this season.

Anthony ended up scoring 30 points in that game, the highest score by a rookie in a single game so far this new season.

break!

Of course this record must be broken! Although it may not be long before it is broken again, things that can be broken must be broken.

But in fact, he himself did not expect to be able to perform like this.

Of course, the coaching staff didn't expect it, and neither did the opponents...

Based on the Kings' performance tonight, if Liu Xiu hadn't made an outrageous 7 of 8 open shots, including 4 of 4 three-pointers, the Trail Blazers would have collapsed!

During the halftime break, the Trail Blazers coaching staff discussed tactics carefully regarding this point.

Make good use of Liu Xiu's fixed-point shooting threat, reduce Liu Xiu's physical consumption and allow Liu Xiu to spend more time on the court.

For a playoff-level team, if there is one more pitcher with super stability, the strength can be raised to a higher level!

On the other side, as for the Kings, Adelman guessed the adjustments the Trail Blazers were making, which was a normal operating idea.

During the halftime break, for a top team like the Kings with strong execution ability, they can make sufficient adjustments.

After the start of the second half, the game became difficult to control for both sides.

The Trail Blazers sent out a combination of Liu Xiu, Derek Anderson, Travis Outlaw, Randolph and Rasheed Wallace in the second half.

The Kings sent a combination of Bibby, Doug Christie, Peja, Massenberg, and Brad Miller.

The Kings really focused on guarding Liu Xiu. Liu Xiu knew that he had to adjust his start for two seconds before he could shoot accurately, but the Kings didn't know.

It is much easier for the Trail Blazers to play 4 on 4 offensively than 5 on 5.

Liu Xiu really stopped shooting. He just opened up the space. In order to prevent his teammates from attacking, Liu Xiu could even not touch the ball during the offense. He could just act as a spectator and contain Bibby the whole time.

But now the Kings don't dare to let go of Liu Xiu. Even if Liu Xiu doesn't participate in the offense for two or three rounds in a row and allows Derek Anderson to advance, he still won't let go.

This really doesn’t blame the Kings for overcorrecting—Liu Xiu was left open 8 times, and Liu Xiu scored 7 goals!
