Chapter 8 A Tree

The morning sun shone through the curtains and shone on Joseph's face, stinging his eyes. He opened his eyes hard and looked at Lisa by the window for the first time. Lisa was still lying quietly, motionless.

Joseph's heart aches. He stretched out his hand to hold Lisa's hand again, stretched out his hand to gently stroke her forehead, and wanted to lean over and kiss her smooth forehead. But suddenly he seemed to be immobilized, his whole body was like a clay sculpture, and then he was trembling all over.

His mood seemed to be bursting with joy in an instant. Surprise and happiness filled his entire body. Yes, this was a surprise. When he had given up, Lisa's eyelashes were shaking gently.

Yes, even such a slight tremor made him feel happy. He suddenly remembered what Jia Huan said. He couldn't help but step forward a few steps, opened the curtains "swish", and then looked out the window.

After a thunderstorm, the backyard was green and the whole grass was green. Between the verdant, there were a few birds flying. And among the rows of trees in the backyard, a small sapling seemed to have broken through the ground. The tender buds, like a new life, aroused people's joy and emotion.

"Oh My God--"

Joseph couldn't help but scream. The sapling grew from the small wooden box he buried. After a night of wind and rain, it grew out so stubbornly. A new life born stood there tenaciously, as if it was declared to everyone that it was born.

Yes, does the birth of the sapling mean Lisa’s rebirth?

Joseph's heart seemed to be hit suddenly, and it twitched with joy. He turned around involuntarily, walked quickly to the edge of the bed, held Lisa's hand tightly again, stroked her forehead with one hand and called softly: "Dear, wake up quickly, my baby... wake up quickly."

Just as he leaned over and couldn't help kissing Lisa's forehead again, he suddenly held Lisa's hand tightened, as if something was holding his own hand, and he immediately looked at Lisa in surprise.

The two eyes were fixed for a long time, and a pair of eyes that seemed to be able to speak were flashing at Joseph.

"Dad - what's wrong with me? I remember going to Elizabeth's birthday party..." Lisa's voice seemed to penetrate Joseph's heart like a natural sound, making him smile indescribable.

"Yes, yes, dear baby, you're going to the birthday party... but now everything is okay. You're back, you're back, this is the best." Joseph suddenly hugged Lisa's body tightly, and his whole body couldn't help trembling, and tears fell down a little uncontrollably.

"Dad...what are you?" Lisa's voice was a little surprised, and she frowned, "You hurt me. Can you relax? Don't use such a big force."

"Of course, of course, I'm just a little happy. Are you hungry? I'll make breakfast for you, you know you've been sleeping for a long time..." At this point, he closed his mouth, let go of Lisa with joy, stood up, nodded to her, "I'll make your favorite blueberry cake..." and then he was about to leave.

"But... why do I feel my mind is messy? I remember after I went to the party and went home... I may have forgotten some things... Damn, my head hurts a little, I seem to have forgotten something. Why am I so sleeping in the bed? Did I miss something? Or did I get drunk last night." Lisa sat up, shook her head hard, and looked at Joseph, "Don't tell me, I was drunk last night."

"Maybe, I'm drunk and don't know what I've done. I was like this when I was young. But at least... I rarely get drunk now. That feeling is really not very good..." Joseph wanted to change the topic, "So it's not surprising that you have a brief memory."

"Okay, you're right. Should I have a good rest. And... can I wait and eat blueberry cake? I feel a little tired and want to have a sleep." Lisa frowned and shook her head, as if she wanted to throw some bad things out of her head.

Joseph was in a happy mood and then turned to Lisa's room. He saw that Lisa's face looked a little bad, and he couldn't help but suddenly raised it up. He was already scared by Lisa's experience.

"What's wrong?" Joseph asked worriedly.

"I... I really want to remember something. I really think it was that bastard Briel who gave me... God... that bastard... I want to kill him!" Suddenly Lisa screamed, jumped up from the bed, then looked around all over her body, and finally stopped slowly.

"How did I...I... come back?" Lisa slowly looked at Joseph and pursed her lips.

Joseph's face looked a little ugly, but he nodded and said, "Yes, I'll pick you up, I picked you up on the way, there was no one there, you were in the grass in the woods, unconscious. I didn't see that bastard Briel, you were the only one, you were drunk..."

"No, I'm not drunk. That bastard Brill wanted to QJ me and pressed me on the grass. But I don't know why... have I been violated?" Lisa's face turned extremely ugly. "I remember he pressed my head tightly on the ground... I had difficulty breathing... It seemed that it was at that time that I lost consciousness."

"Let that bastard die..." Joseph didn't know why Briel disappeared, but he said with great certainty, "You were not violated, not at all. You should have a feeling that this kind of thing... you know the most about yourself, so... don't worry, that bastard didn't succeed, maybe... someone passed by and scared him away."

Lisa's mood slowly calmed down and she nodded and said, "Maybe you are right, maybe I have lost nothing, the loss should be that bastard. If I knew where he is now, I will definitely go back and kick his balls... Damn bastard..."

"Aren't you going to call the police?" Joseph didn't want to get the bastard who wanted to violate his daughter like this. It would be better for the police to get the damn guy to prison.

Lisa's face was a little unnatural, she shook her shoulders, shook her head and said, "No, Dad, this matter... I still have a headache. Can I think about it? I want to be alone and then I will make my decision."

"Okay, this is your decision, I respect you!" Joseph nodded, stood up, and prepared to open the door, but then stopped and said, "I have baked the cake. If you want to eat it, it will be in the oven. I'm going to go out. You can take a break first and think about it clearly. Should you let that bastard die..."

"I understand, dad, goodbye!" Lisa nodded, watching Joseph walk out of the room and close the door, she frowned and fell into deep thought. All the details were like movies, and the pictures were very clear in her mind, but she didn't know anything after she was unconscious.

Yes, what happened to that damn bastard Brill? Lisa looked at her bedside table and saw the electronic alarm clock where it was placed, and then frowned. Today's time... Yes, two days have passed since today's time and her time at that time.

Have you been in a coma for two days? My God!

Lisa couldn't believe why she was in a coma for two days. She turned around and looked outside the window and saw Joseph coming to the backyard, staring at a small sapling in the middle of the backyard. The sapling stood there, giving Lisa a very familiar feeling. This feeling moved her heart. I don't know where this emotion came from, but it just made me feel very happy and concerned.

And just as she was thinking, Joseph had already stood up and left, driving out. Before he left, he went to the backyard to see the scene of the saplings, and he didn't know that Lisa had seen it. One thing he was eager to figure out now was, all this... what was going on.

The car stopped in front of the cubicle. Jia Huan was sitting on the balcony of the cubicle, smiling and watching Joseph steer over, pointing to the chair next to him and said, "Sit down, I know you have many problems. But... I can only say that all this cannot be traced back to the root of it. You have to learn to pretend to be confused."

"But... I really want to figure it out." Joseph looked at Jia Huan, "It's really like a miracle. Perhaps only God has such power... Did you send it from God?"

"God? No, I don't believe in God, but I will not stop others from believing. Everyone has their own beliefs. I am the same. What I believe in is Chinese doctrine, but they all have different paths and the same ends. There is no difference. Everyone belongs to nature. If you obey nature, you can get gifts from nature." Jia Huan looked at Joseph and said slowly, "What I envelope is the way of nature, so I will get generous gifts from nature, including life."

Joseph didn't say anything, and listened quietly to Jia Huan talking there.

"So the Tao I believe in can produce everything. In Taoism, there is a saying that Tao produces one, one produces two, two produces three, and three produces all things. It means that it points out the origin of all things in the world, and all things are derived from Tao. In other words, Tao is the foundation of all things, which is consistent with those philosophical books. I can recommend you to read some philosophical works like "Hologonal Self-Discipline of the Universe"... I often read such books, and I often get some new insights from it."

Joseph nodded. He did want to buy such a book to read. Philosophy, he never liked philosophy, but now he has a strong desire to read it. It is to understand why the Tao Jia Huan said can re-enable a person who has been dead for a long time.

Is nature really that magical?

Joseph turned his head and couldn't help but look at the lush forest in front of him, a little confused and at a loss. Jia Huan slowly looked into the distance through the forest.
