706 The End of the Road

"Are you crazy? Have you heard what you said? You are completely out of mind now! Are you really going to go to court? Do you know how serious this has to do with your reputation? Look at Michael Jackson, even if he won the lawsuit in the **** case, those negative impressions can never be erased! What we should do now is to end it as soon as possible and not continue. You won't want to be entangled with negative news like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie! George, tell me, is Lance talking about the facts? Was this script he created?"

Mark Johnson felt that he was about to explode. Looking at George Clooney sitting on the sofa, he wanted to step forward and pinch his neck and vent his anger, but he couldn't do it, he had to calm down.

Not only because George is now facing the biggest crisis of his career, this stigma will be borne for the rest of his life once it is contaminated. Especially George is now seeking a breakthrough in directorship. If he is not careful, George's acting career may be silent; it is also because he knows that they are dealing with Lance, the man who can never be underestimated. When Ben Affleck entered the crew of "Sin City", he underestimated Lance, which led to his dereliction of duty. Now the company has transferred Ben and Matt Damon to another agent.

"If the lawsuit is won, there will be no problem." George did not answer Mark's question positively, but instead said it with his own opinions.

Mark felt his breath blocked in his chest and couldn't breathe. He put his hands on his waist, took a big breath twice before calming down again, "So, Lance is lying?"

George could feel Mark's scorching and firm eyes and stared at him without any concession. George stood up calmly and repeated again, "Everything else matters. As long as the lawsuit can be won, we can completely turn the situation around, right?"

"Grass!" Mark's words said calmly, responding in a way that hit the wall, which made George's words choke, and then felt Mark's gaze locking on him motionlessly. George let out a sigh of relief and avoided Mark's gaze. "What he said was true."

"Grass! Grass! Grass!" Mark became furious, turned around and kicked hard at his desk, swearing one by one, wishing he could turn into a Hulk and tear the entire office.

After all the emotions were vented, Mark reorganized his tie and finally calmed down. He turned around and looked at George again. "I don't care what grudges you have between you and Lance, and I don't care how stupid you are, so I didn't see how ignorant you are." George opened his mouth and wanted to speak, but Mark's voice rose slightly and forced George down. The powerful momentum made George really embarrassed. "I need you now, go to the copyright office to re-register and add the name of 'Lancelot-damn-Stralo' to the writers' list! Immediately!"

"Don't this mean I admit the facts?" George's elegance and calmness had always been starting to lose control at this time. He couldn't help but sit up straight and shouted at Mark, "Tell you, I will never admit it! I won't die!" George looked at Mark with gritted teeth, "Lance has no evidence in his hand, he has no evidence to prove it!"

"God, did Lance reject your courtship? Why can't you find your reason now?" Mark roared angrily, and the blue veins on his neck began to burst, using every muscle on his body to express his rush at the moment. "If Lance had no evidence in his hand? Will he go to court? You are not a fool, and Lance is not a lunatic. He is not sure, may he come to court directly? If this is true, isn't Hollywood going to be in chaos?"

Every now and then, some people in Hollywood are involved in the issues of plagiarism and infringement. But it is not the 1930s and 1940s. The copyright system is now very perfect. Although the situation of gunmen writing on behalf of others still exists, it is far from being as rampant as before. Similarly, whether it is false accusations or slander, or real plagiarism and infringement, corresponding evidence must be required. Things are no longer without institutional rules.

"He has no evidence!" George still refused to give in and shouted with his neck.

He was unwilling to admit that he refused to admit that anyone could be, but Lance could not be Lance. Lance was abandoned by him. George has always shown enough wisdom and calmness in front of Ryan, Tucker, Jason and others, as if he didn't care about Lance at all, but he was as arrogant as George had never really accepted the fact that Lance had risen again. George made a calm judgment, chose Ryan, and gave up Lance. This was a decision that condensed wisdom and strategy. Once he admitted Lance's success, it would mean admitting his failure. More importantly, he admitted that he was far from as outstanding as he imagined.

George refused to admit it.

"If there is no evidence, what do you think Lance should do? He should call you and argue with you, hoping that you can stand up and tell the truth! He should come to Los Angeles in person, confront you head-on, look in your eyes, and expose your lies! He should seek journalists, seek paparazzi, and even seek Warner Brothers to expose your evil deeds! But in reality, how did he do it?" Mark did not give George any breathing time, and severely suppressed George's pride and confidence, one after another, pressing step by step until he pushed Mark into the corner, "He found the court directly! No one knew his plan until the court summons came out! So, let me tell me if he has any evidence!"

"No, no..." George shook his head subconsciously. He didn't even react, but just stubbornly denied it. Then, George suddenly raised his head, "What if he didn't have any evidence and just cheated me out of the head? When I admit my mistake, then he would come to mock my mistake again, what should I do?"

Mark laughed furiously at this time, just shook his head slightly, sighing, "George, you are not twenty years old!" George's cheeks became cold and hot, and he was so embarrassed.

They must take risks. If they stick to the end and put all their hopes on lawsuits, then things are extremely simple. Either Lance has evidence, and then George's career is defeated and he may not even have a chance to turn things around - because he clearly knows his mistakes and does not correct them; or Lance has no evidence, and then George turns over and really puts Lance back on his feet, especially Lance's "slander" behavior, coupled with the blockade of Warner Bros. and Sony Pictures, George can use his connections to completely fall into the abyss.

However, this extreme behavior of either survival or death is never the choice of a truly smart person. Too strong is easy to break, and too tough is easy to break. Smart people will choose a safe way to end things with minimal losses, control possible potential harm and interests within an effective range, and everything is under control.

"You go to the copyright office now, write that damn name in it, and then push all the responsibility on me and on the producer, indicating that we had a mistake when registering the copyright and did not fill in Lance's name to calm down negative remarks." Mark comforted him with great thought.

In fact, those truly smart people will not believe this method. It is clearly nonsense. As George said, this is equivalent to admitting his plagiarism. But on the other hand, this method can fool the ignorant people, calm the chaos as soon as possible, and minimize the harm. As long as time passes, things will disappear, and people will soon forget this matter, only remember that George Clooney is a handsome and charming actor.

This is the correct public relations method. It is not that there is no scar left, but that the scar is minimized and then slowly healed it. Instead of drawing a hole in the road, then bandaging and plastering it.

"But..." George felt that he was about to breathe. "But no one in the circle would believe it. They all knew that once I did this, it meant that I admitted to plagiarizing the facts, and I also spent countless efforts to cover up the facts. The image and connections I had worked hard to build were ruined!"

If he really re-wrote Lance's name on the list, it would not only be a humiliation to him. Lance, who he tried his best to suppress, finally achieved a counterattack; more importantly, his fame and reputation would completely collapse. How could he stand up straight in front of those producers, and how could he talk and laugh in front of those screenwriters? This would have a fatal blow to his position in the industry.

"I don't know if Lance has surpassed your chrysanthemums. You hate him so much. But, George, listen to me, you should know that fame in the circle is important, but the support of the audience is more important. As long as you can get through the difficulties and win the support of the audience again, even if those big film companies hate you deeply, they will ask you to film." Mark said earnestly, "Lance, almost half of the Hollywood people hate him, but no one really rejects him. Why? Because he can make money, because he is a genius of his/her mother!"

George raised his head, struggling with confusion in his eyes, but Mark felt that he was disappointed. George, who was usually the most wisest and smartest, was as stupid and stubborn as Ben, arrogant and arrogant. He let out a long sigh, "George, Warner Brothers have spoken out. If things are not resolved within three days, they will take action."

If you change your mind when you see the wind, you will be hurt by the consequences.
