543 Reflection Frenzy

When every movie is released, people's mood is contradictory. On the one hand, they look forward to the excitement of the movie, and once again contribute a masterpiece, they are worried about the collapse of the movie. The poor performance is disappointing. Even top directors like Steven Spielberg and George Lucas must face such a test. This itself is an indispensable part of the film industry, and even the most important part. Art works that cannot resonate with the audience are destined to be full of dust.

In the past three years, Lance has contributed three excellent works in a row. Even the "day acquired" with a bad reputation has achieved a box office victory and won its own recognition in a different way. Therefore, before the release of "City of Sin", people's expectations for Lance have become higher and higher, and the pressure they face is getting greater and greater. Almost everyone is discussing whether this work will continue to be exciting, or become mediocre, or collapse in a full-scale manner.

Now, the premiere has not officially ended, but judging from the response of the tsunami of mountains and tsunamis from inside the Chinese Theater, Lance seems to have once again conquered the audience.

The crowd standing outside the theater began to stir up, curious, expectant, and eagerly wanted to witness with their own eyes that the audience standing in the theater finally began to calm down amid the applause that lasted for seven minutes, not because they felt tired, but because the highly anticipated questioning session was coming.

The work of "City of Sin" is more bold, more extraordinary and braver than any of Lance's previous works. So how did Lance conceive? And how did it do it? What exactly does this work map? What does it imply? How did the chemical reaction between the characters and the actors come about? And how does it connect with the original comics and the difference?

Confusion, one doubt after another, countless doubts emerged, making people unable to wait to communicate with Lance. No one cares about the crowd waiting outside the theater, the moment that belongs to them, the moment that belongs to Lance, and the moment that belongs to "City of Sin" has just begun, and they want to be part of this night that has been recorded in history. So, when Lance signaled the audience to be quiet for the third time, the restlessness inside the screening hall finally calmed down.

"Huh, I will treat this reaction as a movie that has been successful." Lance said to the microphone. His confident teasing caused a burst of laughter in the scene. Many people whistled and responded. There was even a man shouting loudly, "Lance, I love you." This shout caused laughter from the audience. Then the two women shouted one after another, "I love you, Lance", which made Lance chuckle, "This is a positive signal."

Before Lance could finish his words, someone in the audience raised his arms high. Lance looked over and couldn't help but chuckled, "This scene seems familiar." A mysterious word caused a small part of them to burst into laughter, including Emerson and Lily. Chloe was confused, so he quickly lowered his head and asked.

"Sundance." After the "City of God" was screened at Sundance Film Festival, the famous Joel Cohen asked Lance for trouble on the spot. The two of them had a discussion in a slight manner. The sparks of you and me impressed the audience. "It's a pity that I didn't see it at the beginning, I just heard it." Lily lowered her voice, tried to speak in the simplest words, and then quickly raised her gaze and looked at Lance.

Joel Cohen raised his right hand high, like a poplar, his eyes hidden behind his glasses shining and unignorable. In a trance, Lance returned to Park City three years ago, where he started again.

"Very good, it seems that the questioning session has begun." Lance nodded slightly, abandoned all politeness and went straight to the topic, "Sir, what is your question?"

The staff standing by the side handed the microphone to Joel. Joel stood up and introduced himself seriously. "Lance, good evening, I'm Joel." Everyone burst into laughter. "I only have one question: Does the City of Sin and the City of God have anything to do with a knife to kill people? Are the three movies in a series? If so, what is the core idea that runs through the whole process? These three works show a progressive progress. Is there any special meaning in this? I hope you can answer it in detail." After Joel finished speaking in one breath, he was already ready to sit down, but then picked up the microphone and added, "By the way, you look very charming today."

Amid the laughter at the scene, Lance raised his hand and gently touched the end of the left eyebrow with his thumb, "Wow, this is not a question, but three uh, four questions." Lance's joke made Joel laugh, "As for the answer, why should you say that, I believe everyone has read the news of the Boston Globe recently. In addition to being angry, I am actually even more curious about one thing: why has this incident happened for so many years but never attracted people's attention, or, in other words, it has never been able to create an echo that appears?"

"People are condemning the ugliness, dereliction of duty and dirtyness of the church, but do people realize how many victims have come forward to complain, but no one believes them? How many victims are eager to be protected, but the people around them choose to believe in the church, and even suppress them in order to maintain the authority of the church? How many insiders choose to shut up for their own interests and for the sake of the church, in the name of faith. Most importantly, among these people, how many are the victims' families, friends, and the people they trust the most?"

"The media are condemning the church's concealment, condolence and shelter, but has the media realized that before this, the incident had been exposed many times and even went to court, but no media reported it in depth? How many victims personally contacted the media and tried to uphold justice through the uncrowned king, but they were all ignored? How many media chose their own interests rather than freedom of speech, nor did the truth supremacy in the face of news materials, and finally chose to shut up? What role did the news media shouting human rights and freedom play in this half-century period?"

Lance gave a series of questions without any answers, but one question after another hit the hearts of every audience member on the scene, especially the nearly eighty media reporters on the scene. Although their functions as entertainment journalists are completely different from social journalists, the name of "uncrowned king" is shared by everyone.

"I realized something interesting. In the 1980s, we all called the news media the uncrowned king, but after entering the 1990s, this title gradually disappeared. Is it social progress or society regressed?" Lance ended with a question and answered Joel's question in the form of a question, "This is the source of my thoughts. This is the City of God, this is the killing of people with a knife, and this is the City of Sin. As for what these three works bring, I hope it will not be explained by me, but by the audience themselves. If the audience can bring a little thought after enjoying the fun of watching the movie, this is my success."

Lance's eyes fell on Joel, and he exchanged one. Joel smiled and gently tapped his jaw, as if he was very satisfied with the answer.

The screening room was in silence for a moment, and everyone was in deep reflection. Lance didn't seem to say anything, but it seemed to hide too much information and there was no connection with the movie, and it seemed to be closely related to the "City of Sin". The powerful reflection frenzy completely cut off all the sounds.

Lance was not in a hurry, and put his hands in front of him, quietly watching the silence in front of him. Sometimes, silence is far more powerful than noise.

Suddenly, someone raised his hand again, and Lance smiled, "Javier Ulier." This reporter from the New York Times is an old friend, and because of the east coast of the newspaper, Lance felt more intimate.

Javier stood up and said with a smile, "I don't want to interrupt everyone's time to think, but I think there is still a lot of time after everyone leaves the theater." This sentence caused a chuckle to make the scene sound, "So, what I'm even more curious about now is how Lance directed the performance during the directing process?"

"Oh, Mr. Tom Cruise, this is a question for you." Lance's unexpected answer made everyone laugh, and Tom, who was sitting in the first row to watch the movie, was also amused and crying.

After Javier waited for the voice to be lowered, he explained, "I mean, Bruce, Jessica, and Mickey, your performance is really wonderful! It's rare to see it! I'm very curious about how Lance did it in the crew."

Although this question is aimed at the actors, it is also the enduring topic of how Lance turned decay into magic in the past month? Tom is just the first case. Now they have seen living examples in "City of Sin". Even the century-old face paralysis has been completely renewed, which is really amazing.

Lance took the initiative to hand over the microphone. Bruce, Jessica and Mickey gave in to each other. People in the audience made a fuss and answered that the movie had just ended. Jessica had become the goddess of countless people, but the microphone was finally handed over to Mickey, who had the greatest breakthrough in the performance.

After ten years of standing in the spotlight, Mickey seemed a little restrained. He touched the back of his neck awkwardly and said with a chuckle, "This is an unanswered question. But what I can be sure is that it was a hellish day." The answer was to look at Tom saying that during the "Borrowing a Knife and Killing" promotional campaign, Tom once commented that it is Mickey's turn again.

Haha, the audience burst into laughter again. To be continued.
