476 Cosmic Project

"Dear nominees, please look here and take another photo at the end, smile, one, two, three!"

After the sound of a series of flashes ended, there was a polite applause, mixed with a burst of chuckle. More than 200 Oscar nominees stood together to take family photos. The scene was really spectacular, with people leaning closely together to form a fan, standing for six rows. Only in this way can everyone be included in the same photo.

Every year, the nomination luncheon is taken, which is nicknamed by readers as the "find highlights" moment - because the face is too small, it is almost impossible to tell who is who. But such a family portrait has also become the highlight of the Oscars annually, not only because of the stars, but also because these are the most popular filmmakers in the past year. In addition to directors and actors, the staff behind the scenes are also included, so the meaning is naturally more important.

Now, family portraits have become a kind of inheritance of the academy.

Lance stood between Cliff Irving and Jamie Fox, in front of him was Sharen Davis, the "King of Soul Singer" costume designer, and behind him was the tall and powerful Clint Eastwood.

After the photo was finished, Cliff patted Lance on the shoulder with a smile, "Long time no see, is everything going well in the post-production of the movie?" "Sin City" just finished filming not long ago, but Cliff's scene ended relatively early, and the two of them did not meet for a while.

Lance captured Clint and Jamie who were concentrating on conversation in his eyes. At the Oscars last year, Clint treated Lance coldly. After a year, the situation still seemed to have not changed. Clint seemed to have not seen Lance, and he and Jamie left directly with each other talking and laughing.

"It's going well, everything is fine." Lance's eyes passed by and then looked at Cliff, "We are now looking for a distribution company to arrange the right schedule."

In fact, the post-production and shooting of "City of Sin" are carried out at the same time. Due to the special style of the movie, many shots are shot directly according to the editing idea. After the filming was completed, Aaron Menker's work is not complicated and can be completed next week at most. Now only the soundtrack is still in production. As long as you have an agreement with the distribution company, you can log in to the theaters.

"Wow, I can't wait. I'm very curious about what effect the movie will show when it is released..." Cliff's slightly rigid face showed a look of surprise, but before he finished speaking, someone next to him came over, "What effect is expected?"

Cliff and Lance both looked over. The person who came was Barry Mayer. Warner Brothers can be regarded as the biggest winners of this year's awards season. "Flyer" and "Million Dollar Baby" were both released and produced works, so Barry made an exception today and attended the nomination luncheon, obviously hoping to further create momentum for the two works.

Looking at Barry's bright smile, Cliff's eyes flashed. He would not forget that Lance issued a ban order. Without being notified, no one was allowed to talk about the "City of Sin" to the public. So far, the ban order is still valid. Cliff does not want to cause trouble. Although the movie has been completed, no one knows what unexpected move Lance will do - fire Ben Affleck and adopt Cliff Irving. This decision made many people fall into glasses at the beginning.

Now, facing Barry's question, Cliff was speechless for a moment and didn't know how to continue. Fortunately, Lance did not pause at all. "My new movie." Lance took the conversation naturally, "This time I tried some brand new shooting techniques, and now I am looking forward to the finished effect."

"Oh!" Barry suddenly realized, "So, is another movie "Killing with a knife"?"

Lance smiled and spread his hands, "I hope so." Barry laughed loudly. Cliff let out a light breath and quickly used the excuse to go over and say hello to Natalie Portman, turned around and left, raised his foot and left the place of right and wrong.

"You are always so keen to break the shackles of tradition." Barry shook his head sighingly. The two of them walked side by side, shuttled through the lively crowd. Many people around him looked at each other, curious about what the encounter between these two people meant.

Lance seemed to have not felt the gaze of inquiry. "No, I wouldn't say that." Lance said with a chuckling, "Sometimes, I will choose to be conservative and follow traditions." This refers to "acquired", "Sometimes, I will choose to innovate and break certain barriers." This refers to "killing people with a knife", "But sometimes, I will seek the middle point." This refers to "City of God", "What is important is never a way of expression, but a result."

"Look, that's the difference between you and me. You're a film creator, I'm just a film businessman." Barry laughed without hesitation, laughing, and praised Lance in this way. "So, I'm always looking forward to working with you one day to see what sparks can burst out."

This is obviously an indication that Superman has restarted the project. Indeed, it is time. Disney has already started planning, so Warner Bros. naturally cannot remain indifferent. It seems that Barry is prepared today.

Lance raised his eyebrows, "I hope this day will not be too far away. I always have many wonderful ideas in my mind, but if I want to put it into reality, I need some support." The sentence was meaningful, Lance was implying that Warner Bros. had already contacted Brian Singer, and obviously Lance was no longer their first choice.

"Oh? Wonderful ideas, you know, I like these wild ideas the most. If you don't mind, you can share them. Maybe I can give some opinions." Barry's words and words are very worthy of deep thought. He avoided the topic of Brian Singer, as if he had not heard the profound meaning in Lance's words at all. But then, Barry expressed his interest in Lance's ideas, which was a positive signal, but in the end Barry chose the word "opinion" instead of "support". It can be seen that he is more cautious now.

Lance did not focus his attention on Barry's speech. For him, competing for the guide with Brian was not the focus, and building the entire DC universe was the only way to do so. Therefore, he had to keep a clear idea and not be confused about those delicate and ending things.

"For example, a comic adapted movie." Before we knew it, Lance and Barry had walked to the balcony. There were still some people around him, but they were far away from the center of their sight. They were secluded and not too deliberate. This was really good for conversation. "Now we always have a hesitant attitude towards comic adapted movies, but I think that thanks to the great progress in computer special effects, the science fiction world built in comics has the possibility of becoming a reality, and comic adapted movies can completely become a new type of movie."

Lance did not start the topic directly with quick success and instant benefits, but laid the groundwork from the general premise.

Barry showed curious eyes, "But, people generally believe that comics are niche and the market is limited." Barry could hear the subtext in Lance's words: comic adaptations can become mainstream, which also means that Warner Bros. holding DC comics should be adapted in large quantities.

The reason why Barry found Lance was just because the Superman restarted project, which was complementary to the Batman restart. But beyond that, he never considered that adapting the DC comics into a series of movies was too risky. As he said, comics are something of a niche otaku and are not in line with the mainstream market. The reason why he chose Superman and Batman was only because these two characters have a long-standing audience base.

"People once thought that 'Harry Potter' was a niche children's book." Lance did not explain, but instead gave an example to fight back. Facts are better than words.

Barry laughed silently, but was not convinced, "Books and comics are two different things."

"No, books and comics are the same thing. Both are telling stories, just one with words and the other with paintings." After Lance finished speaking, Barry did not answer quickly this time, but savored it carefully. Lance continued, "Just like Harry Potter has built a magical magic world, comics have built a superpowered world. Moreover, compared with Harry Potter, the reader base of comics is larger and the history is longer. The otaku market we are trying to find will bring everyone a huge surprise after it is discovered."

Barry frowned slightly and said curiously, "If I remember correctly, you won't read comics."

"It didn't stop me from going into the cinema to watch 'Spider-Man'." Lance's answer still had a hint of sly humor, which made Barry chuckle and nodded, "Fair enough."

Lance knew that the window came, "So, I have been wondering recently whether we can build the comic world into a huge world - even a universe, such as the DC universe, if we extract each hero character separately, and we can create a movie for him; then gather all the hero characters together, and we can create a large movie; most importantly, these movies are independent of each other, but in the background, they can be connected into a story, and perhaps some heroes can make cameo appearances in movies with other heroes as the protagonists."

Lance put the concept of the DC universe in front of Barry for the first time, "It's like... it's like... it's like we shot a Harry movie, another Ron movie, and of course, Hermione movie, and finally put everyone together and a Harry Potter movie. But the problem is that J.K. Rowling didn't write a story for everyone, but the comics have it. This makes the comic adapted universe independent of each other but connected with each other, forming a huge fan harvester."

Barry looked at Lance in front of him and saw a confident light on his handsome face. "Maybe, this can become an existence beyond 'Harry Potter'. For example..." The curve of the corner of Lance's mouth completely bloomed, "'Star Wars'."
