Chapter 657(3/5)

"Well, Thales, I need you to do something else."

"I understand," Thales felt something in his heart and nodded in agreement, "I will try to minimize contact with her and not give them any excuses..."

"Stay with her."

"What's good?" Thales turned his head suddenly and his eyes widened.

But unexpectedly, Zhan En was very calm at this moment.

"If everything is as we think," he said with a thoughtful look, "Morse's death is just a prelude, the purpose is to pit us against each other so that they can wait for an opportunity to act... Then I am sure that this is the case for Hilley.

An 'opportunity', at least one of the opportunities."

Thales gritted his teeth.

"It's no coincidence that she suddenly returned to the Kongming Palace. It's most likely a secret service," Zhan changed. "No, it's not possible, but they will definitely involve Xi Lai, and even serve as the key to defeating Kevin Dill."

Breakthrough."

He turned to Thales, and the dim light reflected in his eyes was particularly conspicuous in the darkness:

"So, I need you to keep an eye on her and any signs of trouble around her."

For more than ten seconds, Thales just stared at him blankly.

"Can you...can you find someone else?"

"Yes, but she won't be happy."

"Then, do you think I will be happy?"

"Don't worry, she knows that you and I don't get along," Zhan En smiled disdainfully, "You'll be fine."

"Oh, wait a minute, what kind of expression is this, and what does 'it'll be fine' mean?"

"Anyway, you keep an eye on her and I'll take care of the rest."

Thales rolled his eyes:

"But, don't you worry about me and your sister..."

"You can't marry her," Zhan En said firmly, "and she doesn't like you either."

So straightforward.

Thales lowered his head:

"You know, I thought you were always wary of me and Xi, um, having contact with your sister?"

"That's true, but..."

Zhan nodded and admitted:

"But since you can disregard your own safety and stand up for the Western Wilderness assassin at the royal banquet, you don't hesitate to break up with me..."

Zhan sighed.

"Yes, I can't bear to see you trying to be a saint," he said quietly, "but at least you are not a scumbag."

Thales was silent.

"What if I fail?"

Thales raised his head and said with complicated emotions:

"What if they still... involved her anyway?"

Zhan's figure paused in the darkness.

"Then I swear, in the name of Kevin Deere, whoever does this, I will make his life worse."

"Okay! Stop!"

Thales quickly raised his hand to interrupt:

"That's it. No need to throw out the rest of the cruel words. Thank you."

Feeling the strange look in his eyes, Thales shrugged:

"You know, when you are old, you cannot listen to swearing and curses."

Jenn smiled.

"That only means that you are not old enough, Thales," the Duke of South Bank said, with profound meaning. "You have not encountered enough despair, so much that you long for the curse to be true."

Thales also hummed:

"That's not necessarily the case, Zhan, not necessarily."

Zhan said no more. He opened the door of the compartment, leaned into the light, and prepared to leave.

"Also, Thales," Zhan paused, "Although the one-eyed dragon may have been mentioned at the royal banquet, but..."

He turned around and blinked at Thales, who was sitting in the dark:

"Xinxing's proposal is still valid."

Rising Star’s Proposal…

Thales frowned.

"Not only that, but also what I said last night...I'm waiting, Thales."

Zhan En straightened his clothes and his eyes were sharp:

"Waiting for you to come up with a suitable price."

After saying this, he strode out of the confessional.

Thales was left alone, sitting alone in the dark, not knowing what to think.

Jenn walked out of the confessional, greeting the guests gracefully and gently along the way, until Butler Ashford quietly appeared behind him

"You will go to inspect the people and listen to sermons soon," the old housekeeper said respectfully, "Do you need a rest?"

But Zhan En didn't answer. He just looked at the huge sunset goddess behind the altar and smiled mysteriously.

"I know, I just discovered it today," Zhan En smiled happily, "It turns out that boy is pretty good."

"oh?"

The next second, Zhan En put away his smile:

"A good liar."

Ashford nodded.

"I just confirmed that he may not know, but he is pretending to be innocent, which is really ridiculous." Zhan En said coldly.

Ashford remained calm and offered his cloak: "Then what are you sure about?"

"This prince is a trap, coming from Fuxing Palace."

The Duke of Nan'an turned around, took over the cloak, and said calmly: "He and His Majesty the King..."

"They're in the same group."

On the other side, Thales walked out of the confessional exhausted, ignoring the mysterious and evil smile of Priest Chadwe, and found his personal guard captain along the way.

"Thor, do you know what the hardest thing in the world is?"

"You asked before, but you lied. Sorry, you lied half-truth." Mallos had just finished greeting several guests and looked back at him.

"Yes, but I just discovered something even harder."

"Go to confession with your enemies and come out smelling like smoke?"

Thales' smile faltered.

Mallos immediately coughed:

"Sorry, please continue."

Thales then hummed softly, patted his clothes unconsciously, and smelled the smell on them:

"The only thing harder than this is pretending to believe a lie, which is much harder than lying."

"So it's so, so difficult. In the whole world, only you can do it."

Thales shook his head and had no intention of countering his sarcasm:

"Who did you send to collect information about Moss?"

"Conmuto, he has connections."

"It's not enough. Send more people to dig deeper." Thales' expression gradually became serious, "Believe me, Moss is the key."

Mallos' eyes moved:

"Can I ask why?"

Thales was silent for a while, then turned to look at the Statue of the Sunset Goddess and the Duke of South Bank below, who was about to leave for inspection:

"Because I just discovered..."
