Chapter 68(5/5)

King Kessel suddenly spoke, surprising Thales.

But the young man immediately fell into despair.

"I have no idea."

He closed his eyes and opened them again, trying to eliminate all expressions:

"I... don't want to know either."

The Ballard room fell completely silent.

It seemed like a long time passed.

Finally, the king's figure took the initiative to retreat in the light.

He sat back in the shadow of his seat.

The face is no longer visible.

Only the king's voice came from afar.

"Sometimes I'm really weird."

King Kessel's words were as sharp and as harsh as before, but they no longer had the stinging feeling.

"Why is your reason as good as your stupidity?"

"Why are they in the same brain?"

The king snorted coldly:

"We can still live in peace and harmony."

Thales said nothing.

He sat at the long table in trance.

Just now, the young man understood something.

In his lifetime, he has faced three kings.

King Nun's vertical and horizontal methods are both strong and soft, with a mixture of grace and power, as deep as the ocean and difficult to measure.

King Charman forced him and threatened him with tangible interests, like a knife pointed at his neck and a thorn in his back.

But the Kessel V in front of me.

The iron-fisted king.

He is completely different from the previous two.

As the supreme king of the stars, he does not speak eloquently and does not know how to speak grandly.

But Kessel has an even weirder and terrifying ability.

Relying on this ability, he can transcend grace and interests with just a few words, go straight to the heart, and seize the most damning point.

Forcing Thales to face his true self.

Calm and uneventful.

But it hurts my heart.

The king stretched out his hand and turned a crank on the table.

The door to the Ballard Room opened.

Several unfamiliar members of the royal guard appeared at the door, and one person stepped past them and walked into the room.

It's the scarred man from the secret department.

But Thales didn't seem to notice, just sinking into his seat with an expressionless face.

"Take him out," King Kessel's voice sounded ruthlessly:

"Show him the mess he left behind."

Thales looked up in a daze:

"What?"

"Don't waste time," the king lowered his head again and opened the next document:

"There are far more important things in the Ballard Room."

"Remember what you said today."

Thales doesn't remember much about what happened next.

He didn't even remember how he walked out of the Ballard Room in a daze.

I don’t quite remember how the scarred man put his hands behind his face with a stiff face, and apologized stiffly, saying that the king’s order was inevitable, but Lord Marius couldn’t leave for the time being, so he asked His Highness to come with him.

Until Thales followed him distractedly, left the palace through a side door, and got into a carriage.

"Where are we going?"

Feeling the shaking of the carriage, Thales, who had finally adjusted his emotions, came back to his senses.

"Secret Department of the Kingdom, Your Highness—Your Majesty's order."

Opposite him, the ferocious-looking man with a scar scratched his face and answered.

Secret science.

Thales frowned.

But he discovered something even more wrong.

The scarred man in front of me...

His voice has become different?

Noticing the look in the prince's eyes, the man with the scar in front of him smiled slightly and stretched out his hand to tear his face apart.

Thales' eyes widened.

"Long time no see, Your Highness."

The person in front of me threw away the camouflage mask with the scar, lowered his head and tinkered with his eyes, and spoke in a relaxed and humorous voice:

"How have you been?"

Thales was stunned.

It turned out to be him.

"You don't look very happy, why..."

His old acquaintance, the Bone Man Raphael Lindbergh, opened a pair of dark red eyes in the carriage and looked straight at Thales:

"Did you just get dumped by your girlfriend?"

Thales' expression froze.

"Raphael."

The prince, who was already in a bad mood, leaned back.

"If you talk nonsense again..."

Duke Xinghu stared straight at the roof of the carriage and said expressionlessly:

"I will go and ask to marry the distinguished Miss Miranda."

Raphael's face fell.

Then the carriage became completely silent.
