Chapter 55 Chess Player(2/3)

Three seconds.

Thales finally let go of the dagger.

The hilt of the sword was left trembling slightly.

But the silence still lingered, and the guests remained silent.

Until Thales said coldly:

"Everyone, welcome to my... Mindis Hall."

He turned around, expressionless, and concluded with a cold voice:

"Hope you have a great time."

"The party is over."

No one moved.

Until Marius sighed, stepped forward, and ordered the royal guards and the guards of the Mindis Hall to regulate order and persuade the guests to leave.

Vogel and Earl Godwin also stepped forward and arranged for everyone to leave.

The banquet hall gradually regained its popularity, and the chatter and footsteps sounded again, but it was much more orderly and low-key, as if they were deliberately avoiding the Duke of Star Lake who was in a bad mood.

Thales was still standing in the hall, behind him was the dagger that disrupted his banquet.

"I remember asking you to get the Warner," Thales asked Mallos, who came behind him and seemed to have something to say, without looking back:

"Why haven't you gotten it yet?"

Marius gestured to the passing guests and apologized to them on behalf of the Duke, and replied nonchalantly:

"The sword is hidden in the locker in your study. I don't have the password."

Thales was slightly startled.

"Why didn't you ask me just now?"

"Because," Mallos glanced at the dagger behind him:

"From the beginning to the end, you never thought about using that sword."

Thales paused for a moment, then smiled in relief.

"Then you're not worried, aren't you worried that he will actually duel with me?"

Mallos chuckled softly, raised his clenched fist and looked above his head.

Thales also raised his head following his gaze.

Soon he saw, high above the banquet hall, five or six members of the Star Lake Guard emerging from the shadows, each holding a crossbow and looking at them warily.

Mallos slowly let go of the fist he had held for a long time.

The next second, the royal guards in the shadows put away their crossbows.

"That's...Toledo, Morgan, Itarriano beside you..."

Thales recognized these people and couldn't help but be surprised.

"The sniper team you arranged temporarily," Thales suddenly said:

"How do I remember that Vogel stopped you?"

Mallos snorted softly and looked towards Vogel saying goodbye to several nobles in the distance.

"He thought he stopped me."

Thales breathed out,

"Have you thought about the cost of doing this before?" Mallos asked softly.

Thales shook his head:

"No."

"What now?"

Thales felt heavy in his heart and fell silent.

Mallos said nothing, his expression remained indifferent.

The guests in the hall gradually began to flow. Many people crowded to bow to Thales and say goodbye, but more people lingered, as if they wanted to stay with him for a while longer.

For example, the Seven Waiters of the Bright Star.

"You handled it very skillfully. Your Highness is worthy of being Count Casso's favorite disciple."

This is Baron Straw of the Seven Stars. He always has a gloomy face and doesn't know what to think.

"You are a treacherous villain, and you are so unbridled," the old Viscount Patterson said angrily:

"Your Highness, you must forge ahead and set your sights squarely, otherwise such evil schemes will only become more rampant."

"This matter is no small matter, please take care of yourself, Your Highness."

Viscount Adrian's farewell was concise and clear.

"Your Highness's great kindness, the Doyle family has nothing to repay...only..."

This was a crying old baron, but before he could start his speech, he was dragged away by the observant D.D. Before leaving, he even confessed to Thales.

"Your Highness, your righteous act of standing up for your subordinates is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people," Mrs. Eleanor led her son Luther to say goodbye and said softly:

"A kind Lord will be rewarded with blessings."

Facing them, Thales had no expression on his face, and at most he nodded slightly.

Until Val Arend came to him in shackles and escorted by the guards.

"You're going to be troublesome, kid," Duke Arend snorted and stared at Thales with interest:

"Trouble for a lot of people, big trouble."

Thales suddenly moved. He slowly raised his head and stared at the other person:

"Older than you?"

Val raised his eyebrows, smiled, and without saying anything, he gave instructions to the person escorting him:

"Let's go, I miss my luxurious single room."

After Val left, Lozano Glover, one of the seven attendants, came to him:

"The long-standing evils in Mirror River and Crow Cry Town, Your Highness, are by no means a temporary burden, and they are not just examples of one place. They will affect many parties. Please pay more attention when you deal with them."

Thales nodded, his heart numb.

Viscount Lozano paused slightly and glanced at Glover who was coordinating work on the other side.

"My brother, Jia Lun, has a dull temperament and is taciturn. He often forgets to eat and sleep at work, does not know how to take a rest, and rarely goes home." Lozano looked at his brother with a complicated look:

"Please let him back on vacation regularly so that he can better serve the royal family."

Thales' eyes moved slightly:

"I will."

Lozano nodded, bowed and left.

"Is this the end?"

Thales turned around, and Coste Nantriste blinked his one eye and looked at the prince disapprovingly.

"No," Thales said calmly, trying not to think about the haze deep in his heart:

"This is just the beginning."

Coster snorted.

"I will return to Junlin City soon."

The Duke of Yadi raised his lips: "Tonight, among the gifts I brought you are some unique rocks from Yadi. Find a few trustworthy people and keep them safe."

Thales frowned in confusion:

"Why?"

"Because they are military directional stones," Costard said nonchalantly:

"Connected to several military intelligence crows that have not been registered at the post office and are not even known to the secret department."

Thales breathed out:

"Why didn't you say anything just now?"

Coster hummed and shook his head:

"Because at that time, your banquet hasn't started yet."

He glanced at Marius, who was arranging affairs not far away:

"Because then, you don't need it yet."
